It's funny that Jonathan brings up pulling the gun down to compensate for recoil, and the gun pointing much higher than the crosshair, because that's actually a core part of how Counter-Strike's guns work! In fact, you can see in the gameplay footage how the player is adjusting their point of 'aim' to account for the simulated muzzle rise (and sway, in the case of some of the more difficult guns, but the CZ75's "recoil pattern" is mostly vertical).
For M4s and their variants, whenever they get big handguards like that, it is purely for the battery (which is usually a nun-chuck battery), most of the time, as the M4 buffer tube is not the best for battery storage.
The fact full-auto isn't actually full-auto bothers me. you can see the trigger finger moving at the speed of sound to compensate for all the guns being "semi-auto".
15:48 Actually, the Steyr Scout comes in .223 as well, I know this is a SSG 08, which yes, does stop at .243, but the reason I bring any of this up is that in the original 1.6 and Source versions of CS they were using the Steyr Scout, not the SSG 08, they usually do not change weapons very much if at all in between releases, so it's very likely that whoever put in the SSG 08 model assumed it was basically the same as the Scout
18:47 I really like in COD Cold War that as you level up the Tec-9 you can make it burst fire or automatic fire with different barrels. Not sure if the barrel would change that irl as much as an upper receiver
I am enjoying this videos much more because Dave comes in frequently to inform more context! It gives Jonathan more context and another dimension to considere ^^
I would like to see Jonathan reacting to the guns of Warframe. The guns can be reviewed in the captura mode that can be accessed the top-right corner of the arsenal by clicking the icon with a camera and it would be interesting to see Jonathan reacting to Grineer guns, because their build quality is not good.
i like when dave goes off on historic rants about the weapons haha. I think it's just assumed guns in games aren't realistic but learning about their history is facinating!
Pushing as always for you guys to have Jonathan cover Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and to cover the M8 and MRI Caseless specifically as well. I have been posting for you to do this in every video a year back now.
Small correction for the AEG issue making the AR wider than it should - it is because of the gubbins but not the electrical ones. Rather an issue with the gearbox that is required to fit in there. The actual place the electrical gubbins pose an issue for the airsoft(AEG) derived AR platform is in the pistol grip - because it needs to fit the (quite thick) motor and at a specific angle, the entire thing is kinda off.
Oh man I just noticed something on the Galil, its bolt carrier goes outside the top cover at the end of reload =) use 0.25x speed to see it better @ 11:35 (Also happens when firing xD)
A question for Jonathan, given that it's a bit of an ongoing thing that you hate most customised or painted guns you're shown, are there any examples of decorated firearms you do appreciate? I'd love to see you talk about them here or over on the royal armouries channel
@@alyoshamikhaylov7651 "you look good, you feel good; you feel good, you do good; you do good, you win." i dont remember who said that, but it was in an old russian badger video. i think it was heavenly?
I don't know why but Jonathan has such a charm, such a cutesy personality that I watch these firearms videos and enjoy every second of it. P.S. I am not even into firearms or anything of that sort. Lol.
The R8 does actually hold 8 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special and both rounds are interchangeable as a lot of cops that worked for Police Departments that actually issued .357s or allowed personal firearms back in the old days would practice with .38 Special and save the full bore magnums for actual patrol use. The R8 was intended mainly for SWAT Shield Carriers hence why it had both an Optics and Laser/Light Rail it's a bit easier to use a revolver with a shield since you don't have to worry about potential limp wrist induced jams.
As for the AWP being stronger then the Steyr Scout. The AWP used to be AWM (chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum) in the mod betas, before it came a game of it's own (after being acquired by Valve), So , I guess, that's where the discrepancy comes from.. (Also bit of shade thrown on the previous video saying that AWP is from the "original")
Still wanna see Jonathan take on the guns of Valkyria Chronicles. I'd love to see his reaction to an Anti-Tank Lance, as well as VC4's Mortar and various guns. I think he'd get a kick out of the Lenfield rifle.
I'm surprised that not only Dave nor mr. Ferguson noticed the weird finger movement. When firing automatic weapons, fingers do not squeeze the trigger like irl, they freak out instead as if they are pressing trigger for each single bullet. That's extremely noticable when using high rate of fire weapons like p90
The SG552 was in previous Counter Strike games, the one in CS:GO and CS2 is indeed the SG556, but it is called the SG553 for some reason. I have no clue why, and have always called it the 556 myself.
I hope you will verify, I belive some CS:GO and CS2 models are the same depending on the skin, probably due to geometry changes im pretty sure old skins use old csgo models and only unskinned models used the highly acurate (for a game) newer models, because i see you taking a look at the pp-bizon space cat, and the m4a4 mainframe. please take a look.
So the awm is probably chambered in 300 win mag while the steyr scout is chambered in .308 Also that id a s&w r8 that is a .357 with an 8 round cylinder.
7:25 "There is this disconnect between where the reticle is and where the muzzle of the model of the gun is." Yeah. I noticed that with most of these guns, and it's probably true of most FPS these days. It's not noticeable when you are shooting from range, but most video game guns won't reorient to actually aim the barrel where the reticle is at close range, like shooting a shipping crate 10 feet in front of you
I'd love to see Johnathan cover some of the older cod games, particularly some of the near/far future ones, like Advanced Warfare, Ghosts, Infinite Warfare.
Did you guys notice on the P90, the player models fingers are vibrating when firing in full auto. So he’s not actually firing full auto, he must be in semi auto, and it’s just pulling the trigger so fast, it sounds like full auto. Player is JeagerZ999 confirmed
There was a time in CSGO where you could shoot accurate headshots from jump on Scout if you timed the apex right. For some reason the gun wouldn't suffer from inaccuracy in that context. It was a fabulous save round buy because you could really make a number with it, getting some really high value kills in a relatively cheap method and cheap cost.
Purple highlights on the Bizon usually mean missing texture placeholder. And there is a Fallout 4 P90 mod where you CAN see the cartridges, follower and spring in the translucent polymer magazines.
A lot of guns could've been given a more modern facelift to further differentiate CS2 from CSGO, but that Glock 26 monstrosity is definitely the worst.
in the older days of counter strike it was stated the AWP fires .338 lapua magnum instead of the more standard 7.62 nato, so I guess that's the real reason why there is a difference
Please do the third part of Battlefield 1 guns. There are still so many cool ones missed like AT rocket gun, obrez pistol, flare gun, fricking granade club😂. U gotta do part 3!
I would like to add that the default weapons in CS2 have a different model from the skins that were brought over from CSGO. It is very noticeable with the M4A4.
What I need is an episode of him comparing the guns from the CS1.6, or maybe Condition Zero if you want some similar but slightly more pleasing looking models.
Back then in early days of CS:GO, the revolver slap action doesn’t have Dispersion penalty it just being as accurate as normal trigger. But because it is basically an AWP pistol because this thing have higher damage than DE while also good at any range. It became broken over night. To the point that players complains about it and Valve have to gone and nuke the revolver to the ground.
CS had weird inaccuracies over the years, in CS 1.6 they called it the AWM, but it was chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, not .300 Winchester Magnum, given, those two are not extremely different, but I have not heard of an AWP actually being capable of firing either. Because what's in game is actually a AWSM, AWSM is the .338 Lapua Magnum variant.
12:22 Hey, here's the CS:S/L4D2 version! I actually hated this weapon for some reason in the past but now for some reason it became one of my favorite submachine guns. Not just because of the functionality but because of design too.
The SG553 exists. The one in game is a 556, but it IS a real firearm - Released in 2008, It’s effectively a 552 with the (more reliable) recoil spring design from the 551. Other notable changes include the introduction of an optional long barrel model (SG 553 LB) and an optional .300 blk config. (SG 553 BK)

The fact that Jonathon was an OG 1.6 player just make this even better, seeing how far the game has come since he first played it
The fact full-auto isn't actually full-auto bothers me. you can see the trigger finger moving at the speed of sound to compensate for all the guns being "semi-auto".
15:48
Actually, the Steyr Scout comes in .223 as well, I know this is a SSG 08, which yes, does stop at .243, but the reason I bring any of this up is that in the original 1.6 and Source versions of CS they were using the Steyr Scout, not the SSG 08, they usually do not change weapons very much if at all in between releases, so it's very likely that whoever put in the SSG 08 model assumed it was basically the same as the Scout
Johathan should do SAO Fatal Bullet and COD Advanced Warfare
Wasn't the AWP chambered in .338 in CS, thus the higher damage than the other bolt action rifle
Yes, it just has had the wrong name in the game for a long time, since the police model doesn't have a .338 version and isn't green either.
Yeah there are some amazing Warframe weapons that he could look at. So many amazing and truly unique designs.
Glad to see you guys return to the guns of CS! Jonathans reactions to the skins are always great
i like when dave goes off on historic rants about the weapons haha. I think it's just assumed guns in games aren't realistic but learning about their history is facinating!
that eyeless cat stared right into his soul.
good thing the Emotional Support Rocket Launch System is there to have his back.
Don't forget the MAG-7 in Black Lagoon!
Jonathan is right, the 96 Romeo and Juliet movie is great.
Pushing as always for you guys to have Jonathan cover Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and to cover the M8 and MRI Caseless specifically as well.
I have been posting for you to do this in every video a year back now.
So good they did a part 2. Love this guy! Actually going to visit the museum soon too thanks to these videos.
Pretty sure valve paid for this video considering they've already did a video on CS guns which are the same in cs2.
Nice to see jonathan is continuing to be moved further into the storage room every video
Oh man I just noticed something on the Galil, its bolt carrier goes outside the top cover at the end of reload =) use 0.25x speed to see it better @ 11:35
(Also happens when firing xD)
I only watch game spot videos with Jonathan Ferguson, we love when he talks about guns
I would really appreciate if Jonathan saw the comparison between models so that he sees what they changed about the models =)
Jonathan is always fascinated by future weapons & Direct Energy Weapons, so my vote is for CoD Advanced Warfare.
A question for Jonathan, given that it's a bit of an ongoing thing that you hate most customised or painted guns you're shown, are there any examples of decorated firearms you do appreciate? I'd love to see you talk about them here or over on the royal armouries channel
"The Engraving Gives You No Tactical Advantage Whatsoever "
Skins are just a terrible idea. Pros only use them for lots of money
@@alyoshamikhaylov7651 "you look good, you feel good; you feel good, you do good; you do good, you win."
i dont remember who said that, but it was in an old russian badger video. i think it was heavenly?
I don't know why but Jonathan has such a charm, such a cutesy personality that I watch these firearms videos and enjoy every second of it.
P.S. I am not even into firearms or anything of that sort. Lol.
Hearing what guns he'd like to see represented would make a fun segment.
8:08 "Well it's a bit of fun."
We're getting to him! He's understanding!
The "Colt M4A1 SOCOM" looks like the M4A4, I believe this is where the inspiration came from
The R8 does actually hold 8 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special and both rounds are interchangeable as a lot of cops that worked for Police Departments that actually issued .357s or allowed personal firearms back in the old days would practice with .38 Special and save the full bore magnums for actual patrol use.
Surprised Jonathan did not comment on that 12:09 ACOG reticle being just a green dot which balloons and disappears
i think him seeing some of the planetside 2 guns would be amazing, lots of variaty alognside exo suits. that would't be a bad idea
I don't think any roast I've heard lately can compare to "...and a lovely sticker"
So the awm is probably chambered in 300 win mag while the steyr scout is chambered in .308
Also that id a s&w r8 that is a .357 with an 8 round cylinder.
Happy about the FN57 Battlestar Galactica reference. Now it just needs a grenade launcher to complete the comparison :)
That's purple checkerboards. Looks like the purple is just the skin itself.
The SG number is basically transfered from older games, where there was sg552, and I guess they just added 1.
The glock 18 model being a glock 26 in cs2 drives my OCD crazy....
A lot of guns could've been given a more modern facelift to further differentiate CS2 from CSGO, but that Glock 26 monstrosity is definitely the worst.
I would love to see some sort of “indie reel” episode, with reviews of weapons from lesser known new games like trepang 2, cultic, etc.
in the older days of counter strike it was stated the AWP fires .338 lapua magnum instead of the more standard 7.62 nato, so I guess that's the real reason why there is a difference
Please do the third part of Battlefield 1 guns. There are still so many cool ones missed like AT rocket gun, obrez pistol, flare gun, fricking granade club😂. U gotta do part 3!
If I recall correctly, a character in the Black Lagoon anime dual wields MAG-7s.
3:36 They're missing the mag for the Mag-7. Now it's just a -7.
I can put up a lot of things, but I cannot accept any slander towards the cinematic masterpiece that is William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet
Love the MAG-7 in Black Lagoon!
Thatd be a fun one to watch him breakdown
I would like to add that the default weapons in CS2 have a different model from the skins that were brought over from CSGO. It is very noticeable with the M4A4.
What I need is an episode of him comparing the guns from the CS1.6, or maybe Condition Zero if you want some similar but slightly more pleasing looking models.
They had so much fun with the bizon and tormenting jonathan with it
Dave’s opinion on the 96 Romeo and Juliet movie is 100% correct
Back then in early days of CS:GO, the revolver slap action doesn’t have Dispersion penalty it just being as accurate as normal trigger. But because it is basically an AWP pistol because this thing have higher damage than DE while also good at any range. It became broken over night. To the point that players complains about it and Valve have to gone and nuke the revolver to the ground.
Really glad you showed more new default weapon models.
(SG 553 BK)
Also, I haven’t ever seen someone holding a Tec 9, I didn’t realize how beefy they actually were. Games always made me look tiny.
mag-7 is such a strange but cool one, probably my fav shotgun in the game
Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet is amazing, shut up Dave. (good spot on the chrome plated Mag7 as Capulet's "Broadsword" tho)
