It's actually pretty interesting that some parents are willing to accept they don't know what some things are and ask about it too, like the father and son exploring the tampons and the pads. He's a lucky kid if his dad explains everything else like that.
It actually shows why it is important to talk because the parents weren't clearly taught about it or openly talked about this. That one woman who didn't know about period cups is perfect example of self taught sex ed which most of the previous generations have done. They only know what they've learned by themselves and practiced.
Dad: so basically every month a lady bleeds outta of her vagina me: why? Dad:because your body is getting ready for a pregnancy me:... but I'm not pregnant Dad: YOU BETTER NOT
I think it is just taboo because people have made it out to be this big secret for so long that people are so used to it being something that you are supposed to hide, so that is exactly what they do. It is pretty much just old habits passed through generations. Plus, many of these parent's parents most likely didn't talk to them about these things openly or at all so they have been stuck with a mentality that it is an awkward subject. At least these issues are becoming less taboo for each generation. Is the Diva Cup good? I've never tried it or known someone who uses it
I totally agree with what you're saying, but we should stop stigmatizing it. We should all learn that talking about these subjects is natural, it's all about education I think. I've tried it only once, I hated it. It's probably because I didn't find a good technique to put it inside. Next month, I'll try it again. Some friends tell me it's awesome, and very practical. It's also very good for the environment!
From an experienced user, the diva cup is fantastic. After getting used to it, I felt sorry for my younger self using anything else. Saves soo much money and only needs to be changed every 12 hours. Highly recommend. (Though now as someone with an IUD who doesn't have periods anymore, I can say getting one of those was really the best thing ever.)
Peter Pet rescue I got pads when it was my 11th birthday because I got my period when I was 10 and I never told anyone but now they know... they all were there
i got my period at 12. i already knew what a period was, as my mom had explained it to me a few times before, just not in that much detail. basically, all i knew was that once they reach a certain age, girls bleed for a few days every month. it didn't seem like a big deal to me back then, and it still doesnt now.
periods do tend to be irregular, especially in early adolescence. it's usually due to hormonal imbalances in the body. i'm 15 and i still sometimes get my period 10 days early or 10 days late. i don't think you should worry too much about it, just always make sure to have a pad or tampon with you cause you can't really know when it'll hit ya
Tri Vlogging Gamers I hate mine too. I was 10 when I had my first period (now just turned 13) and now I now when I have my periods (every month same time). Last year I had my periods 1 week before my trip to Spain and when we were there another week went by and then I woke up at the middle of the night because my period started again. And I remember when I was sitting in that bathroom and crying cause I knowed that I'm free from that. I was so sad and my vacation was almost ruined. But good was that my mom had pads with her and then I got my pads and good thing was that I was able to swim. Right now I'm happy because my period started and it ends before I'm going to the hospital(1 week and 2days)
@@karenashort3967 Your cycle (time between start of last period and start of next period) should be from anywhere between 20 days to 35 days. It's also normal for you to completely skip one period at a time during early adolescence. But if there is enough blood to cause concern, or you have very long periods, time in between periods, extremely painful cramps, (I know they're all bad but I mean the kind that literally make you double over) or very exaggerated PMS symptoms (PMS is the week or so before you start you period) then you should talk you a parent, guardian, or trusted adult if you are a tween/teen/minor and then definitely contact your doctor asap.
Tbh I'm clueless about that,I didn't even know that existed till now lol and I started when I was 8 years old my period and I'm currently 16..so...but I had to learn on my own ,I didn't have anyone to teach me this when I was younger, not surprised of others don't know it since it's less popular then tampons and pads.
Annabelle Tatzer I basically meant that all these people implying that people who use birth control pills a lot only use them to because the have a lot of sex, are very misinformed, when actually a lot of people use these pills for treating heavy and painful periods, the symptoms of pms (premenstrual syndrome) and endometriosis.
Omg. These parents are so awkward but I give them credit for coming on here and trying to have the conversation. I'm sure the camera doesn't help the awkward.
it depends on the state. I learned a lot about sex ed in middle school.......... wait nvm. I thought all women had to do to have kids is pray for it really hard and women who had sex were nasty. No one ever told me this. I have no idea where this came from. I believed this until the age of 13. Oh God the education was tragic
Inspieos I am American and it's true. Sex Ed is so hit or miss, and it's mostly miss. I'm lucky enough that we had comprehensive instead of abstinence only but there was still a lot that wasn't covered.
You are so dumb. Birth control pills can be used for many different thing. Some are used for sex. Some are used to keep your period on track. Some are used to stop severe period bleeding. And some are used for other things. Ik your a boy and you don't have much experience with girls but I mean really. This is probably one of the top 5 things you should know if your a girl. Most boys know this crap also.
how the fuck having protected sex is something to be hit for, besides the fact that corporal punishment has tons of studies saying how it doesnt work. if you can reason with your kid, you talk to them, not hit them, and if they cant? well then they cant resson why they are being caused pain by their caregivers, pretty horrible.
I used to be so shy about it but now i just shout it out..and I hate it when people are like 'ew' when you say you're on you period coz, am I supposed to say sorry for having a normal functioning vagina?
rebe_eka I'm in 7th grade, and the boys litterally give zero fucks😂 The other day one of my friends asked me what was wrong and I said my stomach hurt and he asked me if I was on my period, being a little shocked by this question I was just like "uh...yeah" and he was like "Oh, I'm sorry". Bless their little hearts, their parents raised them right😂
rebe_eka Yeah. My friend was quite moody, and then she said, "I'm sorry I'm so grumpy. It's that time of the month..." This other kid said, "ew." I said, "Must be nice to be a guy."
mine did it in 5th grade and the girls would be in the gym and the boys would go in the cafeteria and yea but i had already had my period and puberty before we did that thing so i knew almost everything they were talking about but i learned a couple new things
heyitzmaddie P - as a mother of 2 teenagers, one boy; one girl, your comment saddens me.. of course you would eventually figure all this out.. biology/human nature.. but wouldn't it have been a better experience if your folks, or at least your siblings had given you 'the talk' of some sort?? -genuinely asking, here
This is a disaster, those kids would have been better off reading the Wikipedia page on menstruation actually the parents would probably benefit from doing that as well
Capture doesnt mean automatically taking someone in hostage, if you knew anything about the english language you would know that saying " use to capture blood" is perfectly correct, you're just an idiot trying to be funny
These parents are awful. Why can't they talk with their children about this properly? Like adults. It's absurd that people think it's taboo to talk about our bodies, sex and sex related issues.
Mom: I don't know what this is do you. *Shows to daughter Kid:I don't know a condom Mom:Don't you pee into this? *Looking at camera man Camera man:You bleed into it Mom: *eyes widen Oh
Those girls look old enough to already know what it is, why are they having it explained to them? Especially on camera, also, they didn’t even explain the medical/scientific side, like, a lot of what comes out isn’t actually blood, it’s the lining of the uterus and vaginal mucus plus blood and stuff.
Hey please don't tell girls that they're "all grown up" when they get their periods. They're still children. Make them feel like having their period is a normal child/teenager thing, but that it's not what makes them a woman.
Good point! I hated that my sister would ask "are you a woman yet?" I mean she was kinda joking, but I don't like that phrase. Getting a period doesn't make you any more mature. It's just something else you have to deal with as you grow up, idk
Charit Marie exactly! I got my period when I was 10 years old. everybody was like “oh, you're a women now!“ while i was crying because I just wanted to be a normal child
Infernal Cookie you're an adult at 18 so I don't really know what you're talking about. also if you have to indicate that your joke is a joke in order to not get criticized, maybe you shouldn't say anything :)
first last True mh mom didn't know I would get my period at 10 so she never told me about it. When I got it I hid it from my mom because I thought I had some kind of cancer or disease and I was so scared. I went online and searched up I know this might sound stupid "causes of bleeding vaginas" and nothing came up about periods and the only thing that came up was pregnancy stuff and disease so I cried and then went to my mom and she told me about it and explained. I wish she told me before because I was so scared and thought I was going to die of cancer. I totally agree with you.

Peter Pet rescue I got pads when it was my 11th birthday because I got my period when I was 10 and I never told anyone but now they know... they all were there
i mean. i wouldnt be mad
Okay, I am growing REALLY early.
I got my first period on Christmas
@@fleur_el THAT WOULD SUCK😱😬
dead inside forever 3:00
Idk why but when the girl said that the menstrual cup was a condom I started laughing my eyes out don't come @ me please
i got my period at 12. i already knew what a period was, as my mom had explained it to me a few times before, just not in that much detail. basically, all i knew was that once they reach a certain age, girls bleed for a few days every month. it didn't seem like a big deal to me back then, and it still doesnt now.
THE KILLER i hate mine. I am 13 and I got it at 12. Im on it right now. Last month it came like 10 days early. Do u know if thats normal
periods do tend to be irregular, especially in early adolescence. it's usually due to hormonal imbalances in the body. i'm 15 and i still sometimes get my period 10 days early or 10 days late. i don't think you should worry too much about it, just always make sure to have a pad or tampon with you cause you can't really know when it'll hit ya
THE KILLER ok thx!!
But if there is enough blood to cause concern, or you have very long periods, time in between periods, extremely painful cramps, (I know they're all bad but I mean the kind that literally make you double over) or very exaggerated PMS symptoms (PMS is the week or so before you start you period) then you should talk you a parent, guardian, or trusted adult if you are a tween/teen/minor and then definitely contact your doctor asap.
how do woman not know what a menstrual cup is?
Brooklynn O Menstrual cups are used significantly less than pads/tampons so it isn’t too surprising.
Actually im a girl but i dont know how to use the cup thingy
I don't know what that is because I never use it
Tbh I'm clueless about that,I didn't even know that existed till now lol and I started when I was 8 years old my period and I'm currently 16..so...but I had to learn on my own ,I didn't have anyone to teach me this when I was younger, not surprised of others don't know it since it's less popular then tampons and pads.
Cause they’re new
"These are birth control pills my sister uses them all the time" DEAD
Has no one heard of pms?!?
Annabelle Tatzer I basically meant that all these people implying that people who use birth control pills a lot only use them to because the have a lot of sex, are very misinformed, when actually a lot of people use these pills for treating heavy and painful periods, the symptoms of pms (premenstrual syndrome) and endometriosis.
Girl: *My sister uses them all the time*
Next lady: * we use these when we want to have ...*

Aliza Viel That was so hilarious 😂😂 i cant believe they didn't cut that part😂

I mean, I'm sixteen on birth control because of endometriosis
well crap now she’s gotta explain sex😂
Well....Crap
😂🤣😂🤣😂 TRUE!
Oml- crap.....nobody had to explain it to me lol I just know
Omg. These parents are so awkward but I give them credit for coming on here and trying to have the conversation. I'm sure the camera doesn't help the awkward.
Most parents in the US are probably awkward about having this conversation, I feel. (Sex ed there isn't really good.)
it depends on the state.
2:27 HAHA His reaction tho

Someone's sister is getting their ass whooped
I panicked! At the chemical Bøy btw my friend uses them because she has a severe period
Wtf
Ikr xD
I used to be so shy about it but now i just shout it out..and I hate it when people are like 'ew' when you say you're on you period coz, am I supposed to say sorry for having a normal functioning vagina?
rebe_eka yup same
They're just acting immature - they'll learn with time. They most likely don't have family that's are open about it
rebe_eka I'm in 7th grade, and the boys litterally give zero fucks😂 The other day one of my friends asked me what was wrong and I said my stomach hurt and he asked me if I was on my period, being a little shocked by this question I was just like "uh...yeah" and he was like "Oh, I'm sorry". Bless their little hearts, their parents raised them right😂
rebe_eka Yeah. My friend was quite moody, and then she said, "I'm sorry I'm so grumpy. It's that time of the month..." This other kid said, "ew." I said, "Must be nice to be a guy."
That kid got me dying 😂😂😂 when he said do you light it up like dynamite?!😂😂😂😂😂😂
my school was VERY tiny so we didn’t ever get “the talk” classes but im 13 now and thank god for youtube
Ya lol capital G God*
mine did it in 5th grade and the girls would be in the gym and the boys would go in the cafeteria and yea but i had already had my period and puberty before we did that thing so i knew almost everything they were talking about but i learned a couple new things
@@heavenly5044 it doesn’t have to be capital but k.
3:09 HAS SHE BEEN PEEING INTO THAT THE WHOLE TIME!?! Just because we get periods doesn't mean we have a portable toilet
Sam D lmao hahhahahahahhahahahaha I'm wheezing
Sam D maybe she doesn't use it duh
I guess we do now
Sam D And pee doesn’t come out from the vagina.
Pee comes out a different hole lmao. If you pee into that tiny thing it'll be filled in no time anyways.
If you are embarrassed to listen to those information , that means you’re not mature enough . Or you just don’t understand xD
Unfortunately, your body doesn't care if you are mentally mature enough to listen.
Same goes for if you’re embarrassed to explain. Or spout bull crap like “when you meet someone special”.
No connection why the boys
I’m definitely not mature enough, and I’ve already had my period for a year
Laura Griffin your so immature
Period is a dot that you put at the end of the sentence.

Why didn't the mum tell her daughter?
i knoe like wouldnt she know more
Lena Rawle I think because it'd be more entertaining for the father to do so. I'm sure she got a laugh or 2 or if it
my dad's the one who told me about it. men should also be part of it. i'm sure her momma told her extra information he missed out on.
Because she is shy
I think she was just seeing how much he knew

My parents didn't give me the period talk. Or the sex talk. I have two sisters and a brother. They didn't even give it to me. I figured it out.

heyitzmaddie P - as a mother of 2 teenagers, one boy; one girl, your comment saddens me.. of course you would eventually figure all this out.. biology/human nature.. but wouldn't it have been a better experience if your folks, or at least your siblings had given you 'the talk' of some sort??

This is a disaster, those kids would have been better off reading the Wikipedia page on menstruation

Capture doesnt mean automatically taking someone in hostage, if you knew anything about the english language you would know that saying " use to capture blood" is perfectly correct, you're just an idiot trying to be funny
JustA Person Whose that pokemon
1:09 yea.....he regrets saying that🤣🤣🤣
These parents are awful. Why can't they talk with their children about this properly? Like adults. It's absurd that people think it's taboo to talk about our bodies, sex and sex related issues.
Greedy Imp FREE @ Google Play exactly my opinion!
Greedy Imp FREE @ Google Play Maybe it just felt awkward because they were aware that they were being filmed
its not exactly a comfortable subject you can talk about...
Phexism But it should be
Christine Jackson but it's not... much easier to sit there and say it should be, but the reality is, it's awkward and uncomfortable.
WHY ARE THE PARENTS EXPLAINING PERIODS WHEN THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THEM???
Mom: I don't know what this is do you. *Shows to daughter
Kid:I don't know a condom
Mom:Don't you pee into this? *Looking at camera man
Camera man:You bleed into it
Mom: *eyes widen Oh

Am I weird?
Amphia Productions LOL
I love how the dad is telling the girl about the period more than the mom.
Those girls look old enough to already know what it is, why are they having it explained to them? Especially on camera, also, they didn’t even explain the medical/scientific side, like, a lot of what comes out isn’t actually blood, it’s the lining of the uterus and vaginal mucus plus blood and stuff.
Look, I'm pretty young, and I don't even have the 'birds and the bees' talk yet. ALTHOUGH, I know it all.
Hell, I'm 18 and my boyfriend says I'm a woman and I punch that little shit till he takes it back! (don't start with that abuse shit, it's a joke)
Infernal Cookie you're an adult at 18 so I don't really know what you're talking about.
also if you have to indicate that your joke is a joke in order to not get criticized, maybe you shouldn't say anything :)
I'm 13 when I got my period at 11 my parents told me that I'm a woman and they stopped treating me like a child since then 😐💔
I remember my mom told me about periods and I stared crying.i got mine the next day🤣
when I got mine I started crying cause the pad was uncomfortable and I stayed in the bathroom for an hour crying
I got mine a month after my mom told me about at the good old age of 10... it wasn't fun
Wow..thought I was bleeding to death and started panicking, Mom to the rescue!
Ellen_o d my mum told me about it at the age of 8 I got it when I was 11
first last True mh mom didn't know I would get my period at 10 so she never told me about it.
I just love the one dad that keeps saying “I don’t know” and “I think”
