LOVE this project. Perfect way to make my basement windows look great with my genuine artglass windows on the house. Love your kitten, butterfly and koi. Can't wait to try this wonderful project.
This is absolutely amazing!! I have wanted to learn to do stained glass FOREVER! This looks like it makes it a breeze. PLEASE CHOOSE ME!!!! Pleeeease.... that's the magic word, isn't it???
You make it so easy you make it look so easy and your project I've been watching has turned out very nicely. Being disabled now I'm unable to do the crafty little things I used to do for people and my family which evolved in the past but hey that's what happens when you're the youngest. A row of this tape would be awesome I could finally make the few friends I have some really special Christmas gifts. But no matter what I hope whoever wins it at least shares with us how they used it that would be so cool happy Holidays happy decorating and that's just make the world a happy place again
Kitten and Butterfly and Koi. Did you know my grandsons name is Coye pronounced just like it You know me on facebook! love part 1 can't wait for the rest!
I have always loved leaded glass windows and have been trying to think of something to do with the glass doors on our newly constructed church. I really would like to find a pattern that would work on the glass entry to the Sanctuary, with maybe some different styles of faux frosted glass with the tape. Sounds like a great product.
This is amazing saw the short video on HomeTalk a d loved the look and just had to see this in action myself on the full length video love the channel so I decided to subscribe
Just such a beautiful, thoughtful video, Stephie, I keep returning. How is the lead holding up? I don't know anything about grid paper or where to buy it. Thanks again!
Hi, SGL, thank you so much for the feedback. The lead window is still like new. We have it on a covered porch so it never gets wet or baked in the sun, so that might be why it's still like new. Stores that have school supplies might have the grid/graph paper. This is an example of a large tablet (but you can still tape sheets together before starting) on Amazon: amzn.to/3SQIosb
You can put it inside or outside, or both on the same window. We have this one on a covered porch, so it is protected from sun and rain … we did ours on the outside.
Kooks great, but how well does this stand up to weather. Will it start shedding in a year or two? I live in the Northeast where we have temperatures in the negative and above 100 F, rain, snow, frost, etc.
Ours is on a covered porch and still looks perfect in zone 7. It does not receive a lot of sun and does not get wet. You can create the leaded glass effect indoors to protect it from the weather. The tape looks good on both sides.
Yes, it is possible to paint the tape. The tape is flexible and can do curves, but we haven't tried a circle yet. We are working on a design that has curves, so we will let you know in the upcoming terrarium video how it does.
Do you know if it will continue to stick to glass for the long term if it is outside in Northern California sun? (for a dormer window in an attic, maybe can get to 145 degrees or higher...)
I think it will work perfectly for you. It's a very sturdy adhesive. Small pieces, like half inch or smaller, have trouble sticking - less surface to surface adhesive, I guess. But longer pieces are very durable, if you burnish them to the glass. Be sure to clean the glass and let it dry first, and then you should have no problem at all.
Beautifully done.....animals are butterfly, cat and fish.....I can be reached on Facebook under Carol Bone Mabe....at 70 yrs old I'd love to try a new project like this ❣️
Beautiful! Saw a cat, butterfly & fish. You can find me on Facebook! I’d love to win this tape and see where my imagination takes me! You’ve provided a lot of inspiration!
You could potentially tape both sides, but it may be difficult to align the tape perfectly especially if there is a gap between the panes. You can tape just the inside and it will still look fine from the outside. We created a stained glass panel on a separate sheet of glass, placed it flush against a window on the inside of the house. Very pretty and realistic. The outside pane protects it, but it still looks like stained glass. The tape looks very good on both sides. If you tape inside, it will have the advantage of being protected from the weather and the raised texture is another plus. Our small green window is on a covered porch so it does not get much weather. The texture is on the outside and it still looks as good as new after all these years. The side that has the raised texture that can be touched, looks the best, for sure.
It's lasted and hasn't lifted at all. It uses very rugged adhesive and the metal makes it water resistant. Only the tiniest pieces are susceptible to failing (half inch or so), but so far, all of my tape is still perfect. If you scraped the tape off, it would still leave a trace of the adhesive. It's tough stuff.
I have been looking for something to do with the windows in my bedroom. They are just typical slide open windows but are part of a 'Hogwarts' themed bedroom. I have been bouncing ideas off for some time. Nothing has clicked until I saw this! I like the simplicity in the design and I think I will also use clear-distorted view privacy film so that I can have the windows exposed without worry of street view. Love this! I saw a Kitten, Butterfly and Koi fish. I hope to win this! sharon.shields.338 on FB!
Cat, fish, and Butterfly. You can reach me on instagram at terra_joyce or on facebook at Joyce Terra. You did a fabulous job. It turned out beautiful. I want to do this to my front door. It also has two small panes like your window. I have been wanting to dress it up forever. We bought a home that was built in 1900 and have been remodeling it, trying to keep with the era of the home. So far it is looking good. Still more to do but mostly cosmetics now.

My windows are double glazed. Does the lead go on the inside, outside or both?
