- I take a look at a nicely done Moose 🫎 from Rough Ryder. I also found something that fits perfectly in an East German military Surplus pouch.

A full flask makes me happier than a Bull moose in a herd of Cow moose, mooses, meece I don't know. Thanks William Good luck everyone
@@dougwatkins5441 😹
Hey William! Cool Moose! When you're thirsty, you need a flask. That's what Pepe told me. ATB, Dingo. USA!
@@peppereddingo9339 Pepe would know.
I emptied my flask trying to forget that rant
@@teekay989 😹
Lol" I love it when you get on a ramble, you remind me of me"" great folder, I love Rough Rider.
@@onsquare3rd537 Thank you 👍
That is a great looking moose
@@STUFFWEDO thank you. I need to pick one up for myself.
Flask , Taterskins have such a great look , Thanks William !
@@dwayneletterman3987 Thank you, Dwayne
That flask also good for holding special medication. Even with the bolster R, still a very nice knife, thanks for the GAW, and the video, William.
@@JoseGonzalez-yx6vm Thank you, Jose.
Hi William:
Back when I used to go fishing a lot….I carried a flask with me. But….
It didn’t have water in it. 🍺 👀😂
@@bishop6426 A little nip here and there goes a long way.
Fill your Flask with some Moose on the loose juice in case of Emergencies ! 🐯🤣👍
@@gizmocarr3093 Moose 🫎 on the loose juice 😹🫎
Nice GAW Bill, all the Tater Skins are 440A. A flask is one of the first devices for personal hydration.
💧👍
I used to have a flask but never carried any water in it. 😂
Love the Tater Skin!❤
@@tomweingart2337 water seems to be rarely carried in flasks compared to alcohol.
This is one of my favorite rough Ryders , it’s more of a truer moose pattern than their other ones, the Spey has a point like a spear blade. . It’s based off of Remington bullet knives /Camillus cartridge classic knives from the 80s, which I think were based on old Remington knives from the 20s. It’s such a great knife, mine has a heavy pull, fantastic walk n talk. I would love for rough Ryder to mage a mini version of this , like they do with their other moose pattern.
@@JoelPerri7777 That would be great. I'm starting to like the Moose 🫎 pattern more and more.
That's a beautiful knife!! I really like that flask as well, I need to get one of those👍
@@davidkurle5418 They are decent for the price.
Pretty sweet knife forsure awesome vid brother 🇺🇲🙏😎
Thank you 👍
Good to see you again William. I dont collect knifes (yet) but you never know. Lol. Nice to hear you ramble again. I don't have a flask yet, but it's a great idea as holding a water bottle sucks in summer. Maybe a dual walled thermos style won't get so hot.
Not much in the way of military surplus stores down here, I think we had one years ago but they were too expensive from memory. :/
My son still lives in VA so if I win, no shipping to AU! They will visit in December, yay.😊
Take care my friend.🍺🤠🇦🇺
@DonzLockz Good to hear from you, Donz. I still mess with locks occasionally. I don't collect them anymore. One obsession at a time. 😹
i'm a membership! 🙋
@@hleeky Thank you 🫡
the flask is a bit too big for Pepe. Miss the Dinos. Have a great weekend!
@@LadyMichele I'm trying to get Danny Dyno to do a summer special.
Hi William, giving all your food to the kitty's and knives to your friends is a sure way to go broke. You have to start saving for retirement 😂 lol JK Thanks for the giveaway 😊
@dand3329 I'm already retired, so there is nothing to save for 🤣
@@WilliamsKnifeLife lol me too William. I'm glad we both have enough to help the kitty's 🤘
I probably have nearly 75 RR knives. Very few have any significant flaws. I can't say the same things about my Case knife collection. It's interesting that George Washington Sears (aka Nessmuk) had a Moose pocket knife in his blade trilogy. He used his oddly shaped Nessmuk knife for skinning, a dual sided axe for wood processing, and a Moose pocket knife for all the little stuff. I bet he also carried a flask for those cold nights in the rain. What is your favorite flask booze?
@morte2195 I don't drink alcohol very often. I'd probably put whiskey in there or vodka depending upon whether I had or with me.
@@WilliamsKnifeLife I think it would have to be wiskey in a flask under that Texas Sun. It tastes like gasoline no matter what its temperature. Would it help start a fire in a pinch?
@morte2195 Yes, you could use whiskey to start a fire. Moonshine would be better.
william, i don’t have a flask in all the gear i have but the moose pattern is one of my favorites.
@@bluetoad2001 I think I like the Moose pattern better than the Trapper pattern.
@@WilliamsKnifeLife Nessmuk recommended the Moose for wilderness travel because it has to pivot pins and two back springs. if one breaks you have the other to get by
@@bluetoad2001 That's a good reason.
Flask"" lol' I forgot.
@@onsquare3rd537 👍🫎
That new knife is cool. I also like 440a in a pocket knife. I like carbon steel also. If RR does not say what kind of steel it is I assume its 440a. I am ok with that. Pocket knives are for light duty most of the time. Fancy steel is not needed for my pocket knife.
@glenh4971 that's the way I look at it, also.
I wonder in California requires the "cancer and reproductive harm" on electric automobiles? Considering all the chemicals in that battery.
Reproductive harm and spay blades! Oh yeah!
Shipping on that one knife would be $3.99 from SMKW
I think some companies aren't too clear on the steel because they can swap it out when they change suppliers.
Have you seen the 16 oz pilot flasks that fit the survival vests? I was looking for a something larger than an 8 oz flask to slip into a pocket of my backpack. The 8 oz was too small and water bottles were too heavy and/or bulky. The pilot flask was perfect. You'll find them listed as U.S. Military 16 oz pilot flask or canteen. They come in an opaque clear plastic, olive drab, and/or pink. All were supposedly military issue. I read somewhere that pink flask was slightly different than the others when it came to liquids you could put it in. Spain also makes a similar 16 oz flask that comes with a cup that fits over the bottom.
@KnifeChatswithTobias I have 2 OD green pilot flasks dated 1993. The reason I bought the Ozark Trails flask was I had been looking at the Self Reliance Outfitters small metal flask, copied from a Swiss military flask, I believe, and that OT flask was 7 dollars. It's also smaller than the military flask, allowing me to stash it with a cook set. I know it will work as a solar hot water device & that may be enough hot water to reconstitute a Mountain House meal. Would work well in a no burn area as long as the sun is out and it's summer or early fall.
Hi William
Just joined your page.
I like the Tater Skin.
I like that flask.
I like that pouch you showed, where did you get it from again?
Thanks
@craigpolixa5775 I think I got the pouch on eBay. Look for rain pattern camo or east German military Surplus
Here's that pouch on eBay. I haven't bought from this seller, but it has a 100% approval rating for whatever that's worth. 10 dollars with free shipping is not bad for new old stock.
