Get a lower lofted 909 driver and you will get the same distance. Since ball speed an efficiency are the same, lower loft will fly the ball lower with less spin
Also have a 909d2. Love the look and sound compared to newer drivers. Considering replacing Stiff shaft with a Regular because I’m hitting 60 yrs old soon and my Larry Mize like tempo.
I want to see the 917D2 vs an M1. I'm getting fitted in January and want as many opinions as possible. I hit 1800 to 2200 rpm with an M1 fitted averaging 270 carry on GC2. Can you explain what shafts you're using too.
Composite drivers m1 or m2 are new redisgned tech . The first composite driver i had seen was that cobra lv5 and callaway with the trampoline effect whose cor was way too high ! Even titleist had a 909 composite driver i dont know why these tech were discarded. The most happening thing or evolved process has been the graphite and composite shafts . So those who think the m series and the epic series are something new no its re engineered design products . With due respect to golf club engineers and designers they do a great job!
A more meaningful comparison would be to take 5 shots with each and take out the worst and best for a 3 shot average. Including poor shots made by the golfer mistakes is stupid.
I still play the older smaller drivers 975d and the great big bertha warbirds. They have that solid feel and feedback you don't have in the new oversized cans. Plus the prices are outrageous.

I love the old and new comparisons. The content is great, keep it up.
good video i just started playing i bought an Titleist 909 D2 stiff for 9 usd at a thrift store
If shafts were same this would have more meaning. Same flex means very little.
Enjoyed this test. 909 did well considering
Shows expensive new drivers aren't worth the money in my opinion.
Not much difference that I saw. I just bought a nearly new 909d2 for $60, I cant wait to play it.

I have both. Had to buy the 917 with a regular flex because the stiff flex on the 909 was brutal on my right wrist though.
Come on man, three with each? You need a bigger sample size for it to matter at all.
great content!

A bigger test needed and same shaft in each. Also you swapped to a wooden tee; perhaps a different height ?
Something about the 917d2 never felt right. I left the weight out of it, hits good now 🤷🏻♂️🏌🏽♂️

All these new drivers are like rocks!! The TaylorMades are the worst. They feel like shit

Scott Stewart a bigger sample size will be coming. Stay tuned!
