Very good guys. I do enjoy your battle reports. Keep them coming
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoy the videos.
Enjoyed this, as with everything it gets easier the more you play. Look forward to the next one 👍 we filmed our 30th odd battle rpeort last week and realised we had been doing something wrong for the last 2 or 3 years and it had never been pointed out 😅 as long as it doesn't spoil the flow of the game just go with it
Thank you, that’s what we were going for… if it feels right and feels feasible then fair play.
We enjoyed the game and have plenty more planned moving forward!
Thanks 👍🏻
This was such an exiting episode.
Thank you, was great fun for our first game of Hail Caesar!
Enjoyed that, and at c.2hours it had me captivated all the way through. It did ebb and flow which meant as a viewer I wasn’t sure which way it would go. That Roman cavalry charge at the end tipped it - I was waiting to hear you say “hold the line”😂. Well done guys and thanks for sharing. Cheers 👍
Thank you for your comments, very much appreciated!
We had great fun and the actual battle took many more hours as we had to keep looking up rules 😂
Glad the length of the video wasn’t too long as I was worried it should have been shorter, but hopefully our next battle will be much more efficient with the rules and game play.
Thanks again 👍🏻
A great game! looking forward to seeing more, a lot of information to take in and rules to apply. Keep going, Many Thanks Gents👍
Thank you, we enjoyed the game and picked up loads of rules and tactical ideas for future games… as our first game of Hail Caesar we just wanted to work out the mechanics and have fun.
Glad you enjoyed it and we look forward to more HC soon 👍🏻
Excited!!
Thank you!
Not long now and it marks the start of our Hail Caesar journey… Epic Hail Caesar is going to feature in the future once we have worked out what we need to build our first armies 👍🏻
@@theministryofminiatures We just filmed our first ever game of hail Caesar last night using the new epic scale minis. It’s pretty fun! I like the system.
We used 2 small forces and didn’t use a lot of the keywords/special rules just to get a feel for the phases of the game and how it flows. Gonna add in all the rules as we play more and more and get comfortable with it.
Watching this report now!
@TabletopCollective excellent news, will look out for it… we are just starting with epic so build, paint and games coming soon!
@@theministryofminiaturesWe’re impatient and just went with mostly bare plastic. 😂
Working diligently to batch out as much as I can for the next videos though!
After another read through of the book and watching this report(I’ve had a lot of free time this morning since my 2 year old woke up around 4am our time) I’ve decided we butchered the rules bad enough we need to re-record. 😂
Great video, thanks guys!
Never played the game but this was a great battle report. Makes me want to try it out!
Thank you, it is a fun game, we are planning on more games very soon and have both decided to try the new epic Hail Caesar, George will be the Romans and I will be the Carthage horde!
Glad you enjoyed it, we certainly had a great time 👍🏻
I've not seen this game played yet but i was day dreaming about the Hannibal box set on the warlord website the other day haha
Yes that set looks immense! Warlord Games have sent us a few free sprue’s so George and I are in the process of working out our armies, build, paint and battle… he will be Romans, I the Carthaginians!
Let me know what you thought… as we are just starting on this Epic adventure. 👍🏻
i actually started with Hail Caesar since half a year ago and seeing this new Hannibal set made me regret a bit about going for the 28mm models. but im in too deep now haha. it does look marvelous
I know… I have loads of 28mm and know the new scale lends itself to lots of figures on the table to showcase some immense battles! We are just starting to look at the Epic stuff and this game is around us learning the rules in preparation…
So hopefully we will have some epic on the table soon 👍🏻
Nice game. We all get rules wrong even after playing multiple times! You picked up that pilum only count 1st round and I don’t believe supports can follow up just the main unit. Also you you can only fight once a turn so when you won a combat that same unit couldn’t provide support to another combat. But it doesn’t matter as long as you enjoyed the game
Thank you for the feedback, we have been reading over the rules again to see what we got wrong… ready for next time. The ones you highlighted will be duly noted 👍🏻
Cheers
Thank you. Very helpful comments.
Thanks George 👍🏻
So if i want to add onto my Romans I get Caesarian Romans right if I get the starter set? They dont have too many options its basically infantry (pilum or gladius) and some cavalry and war machines it seems. The Celts have chariots and all sorts of crazy stuff
Yes that seems to be the case… in the new Epic Hail Caesar starter set Carthage gets elephants too!
@@theministryofminiatures yeah I have pre ordered that
Amazing news, we are working on some of the new figures at the moment and hope to get an epic battle report soon!
Well played, love to watch these games. Did you find your roman replacement commander in The life of Brian? # Silius Titus XD
Yes! All I can say is it is good job no other Generals died as that may have become a little awkward 😬😂😊
We did have several prepared 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it, we did and we are planning plenty more.
Thanks again
Hy
Is it 15mm Hail Caesar Hannibal Rules
Or 28mm Hail Caesar
This is 15mm using version 2 of Hail Caesar. We are building our armies for Hannibal at the moment so a few weeks of building and painting, but hopefully an Epic Hail Caesar coming soon!
The gual commander is annoying with his negative stance every throw. As well as his bolt action moves. Try change your outlook. And be aggressive. Stop being nice.
Haha! This actually made me laugh…
…George, the Gaul player (who doesn’t even play Bolt Action) charged his fanatics and entire army at the Romans - how is that not aggressive!? In the Hail Caesar game, if your General/commander fluffs their order tests, their entire division is stopped and cannot move further that turn… his dice rolling let him down here, which isn’t captured on video… but you picked up on what he did roll on camera.
We both enjoyed the game, and had fun, and for us that’s the most important part of the gaming.
George is a nice guy and that makes him fun to be around, (don’t change mate!).
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
I am British....if we aren't complaining about the weather, which is pretty rubbish at the moment. We have to moan about something. I exercise my right to complain about my dice. Also I am not nice....I am lovely.
@@georgebell2736that you are by George, that you are 👍🏻
Also I do not understand what a "Bolt Action move" is. I would very much like to know so I can address this personality flaw.
@theministryofminiatures . Don't get me wrong , it's in the fight. Not knowing the phielm ( spelling) . Can only be used as a throwing weapon much like the zulu short spear.. I enjoyed it. And in our small club started in 6th ed ancients..about 30 odd years ago have a keen interest. As regards to bolt action your opponent, either has very poor luck but never seems to win. And a dice is meant to be rolled not just tipped.. however I enjoy watching it .
