If you don’t want them to sweet this is what I do:
I change the sugar to 1/4 cup of white sugar & 1/2 cup of brown. I add 1/4 teaspoon of salt instead. I use dark chocolate chunks and sprinkle sea salt.
I’ve been making these for a while now and they are still chewy and crispy on the outside.

If you loved this video, you may also want to know that there are a number of steps to making chocolate! First, cocoa beans are picked from the tree. At this stage, the beans are white and gooey. The beans are fermented for 2 weeks and left to dry. Once dry, the beans have turned brown! The dried beans are roasted to create more flavor, and finally, made into chocolate products!

This is the BEST cookie recipe. I love it. I've made different versions of it, all of which I love.
    1. I halved the oil, salt and sugars after reading some of the reviews on the tasty recipe page. And it was perfect! The whole crispy on edge with soft middle came out with this version.
    2. I added just 1/4 cup applesauce in place of oil and the taste was delicious but it was definitely a more cake-y texture.
    3. I added 3 tablespoons of mashed banana and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and the taste was great too. You can taste the banana but it's a nice banana chocolate chip cookie+cake treat.

For everyone saying that vegan food is “trash” or that this is disgusting because it’s vegan, have you ever had a VEGAN apple (or your favorite fruit), nothing inside of the food changes when you add vegan infront, it all depends on what foods go into the recipe! These cookies have tons of delicious sugar and chocolate and there’s nothing wrong with them at all, I can almost guarantee they taste amazing, but since it’s “ vegan” no one is giving them a chance

i just made these with mint choc chips today and they turned out soooo good! the full amount sugar would have been too sweet for me so i used 100g of demerara sugar (almost like white sugar) and 50g brown. i also successfully subbed soymilk for the same volume of water + 10g of soymilk powder. This is the most chewy vegan cookie recipe i've tried so far, they were really popular with friends and family. 😊😊😊

@oh the coconut oh the coconut, Thank you so much for the tips :D
I personally added a couple of ingredients to this awesome recipe, here is my version.
    115 g white sugar
    150 g brown sugar
    115 g coconut oil
    60 ml of coconut milk
25 ml of cold drip Coffee
    180 g all-purpose flour
    15 gr of Almond flour
    1 tbs sea salt
    1 tbs vanilla extract
    120 g vegan dark chocolate
    25 gr of roasted hazelnuts
As recommended by Tasty I also let the dough in the bridge for 24h/36h after being scooped to let the flavors come to life!

You know, every non-vegan people (Omnivore) in this comment are roasting vegans (Herbivore) about their food, but man it is fine, vegans are fine if they are not acting salty. And if you ask which side I am, nah man I am not in both side because I only eat egg and bacon with milk for breakfast (fastest things I know so far) before going to the school (Ok I'm just a sophomore that still live with my parents) and eat some Omlette with chopped pork for lunch and for dinner I eat steak as you can say, I'm canivourous.

    • @bengal_tiger1984
      @bengal_tiger1984 6 лет назад +11

+SheetStorm There is no side here. This is food. Some people are too immature to even understand other people have dietary preferences. How stupid can that be, you're getting angry at a person just because they don't like, let's say, tomatoes? That's the same concept here. Seriously, this is food. Not politics. Tasty's comment sections are filled with trolls, so don't mind them. I myself am nowhere near a vegan, but any person with common sense knows everyone eats differently.

Omg, this is the best recipie.
I tried it in a non vegan way too.i just used butter in the place of coconut oil and normal dairy milk .
Tip- I' didn't wanted to make a lot of them so I used the following measurements:-
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 TSP salt
1/4 cup butter / coconut oil
    1/4 cup milk
    1/2 TSP vanilla
    3/4 cup flour
    1/2 TSP baking soda .
--> chill the dough for 1 to 2 hours or more than that
--> don't add excess of baking soda it will make the cookies very crunchy and hard types.

I'm from Argentina but most comments are in english, so... I just did this recipe with half of the sugars, half the coconut oil and with water instead of milk (I read somewhere that water could be used too because egg and butter from non-vegan recipe are esencially water and oil) and they turned out GREAT. I'm amazed that, for the first time, I could see a crinkle on top of the cookies and the dough looked just like the video (well, not the same color because of my brown sugar type I guess, they turned out more clear rather than brown) but, yes, with these amounts the recipe turns out great. Disclaimer: half on both sugars make the cookie not so sweet, but that is depend on each one's taste.

If you appreciated this video, you may also be interested to know that Chocolate can get a bad rap because of all the added sugar it may contain. However, dark chocolate or raw cocoa nibs have 0-maybe 6 g of added sugar, if you’re buying 80-95% cocoa. Always check the ingredient label to see how much added sugar is present, and consider buying dark chocolate or raw cocoa nibs!
