Impressive Mario Andretti driving the Ferrari for the 1st time (in replacement of Didier Pironi), starting the race from pole position and finishing third behind Arnoux and his teammate Tambay.

These aluminium alloy chassis in combination with turbo and ground effect are a pinnacle of madness.
Without the upcoming carbon fibre dozens drivers would have died in horrible crashs. When you see these pictures, it is a wonder that 'only' two drivers died in 1982 🤔
