Mercedes CLC 180 Light Switch Module Removal and Replacement

The 2009 Mercedes CLC 180 mirror folding switch started to fail so here is a guide to replacing the entire unit.
Part number A 203 545 27 04
This part also controls the adjustable light angle, the mirror angle adjustment and has buttons to fold or unfold the mirrors.

Thanks for this just had a quote for a replacement 365.00 plus 2 hrs labour charge one hr finding the problem another replacing it.

There is one on ebay but I'm a bit weary purchasing it can't believe you have to replace the whole unit just because the top 2 buttons for opening the side mirrors don't work.

That's a high price for what really was an easy plug and play job. Finding the exact part is possibly the hard part but if you get the number from yours first and compare the number with a replacement it should be perfectly fine. Best of luck!

@@debradurling317 no, no programming or coding was required. I just plugged the new one in and everything worked.

I am having this issue but only with the mirrors, mine is a rare colour and I am having trouble finding a replacement, also I am concerned a used part may have the same issue. Is it possible that removing the buttons and cleaning with electrical contact cleaner will solve the issue?

Yes it is certainly worth trying that with either contact cleaner or Isopropyl Alcohol on the contacts. It looks like it might be possible to prize the switch apart since it looks to be clipped together.
