@@Cantafford2care, thats hillarious considering Colt turned their back on the American civillian market and ONLY came back to us when their military and government contracts started drying up. People joke about H&K hating gun owners, but they are quite literally bound by import and export laws. Meanwhile, Colt has no excuses. Colt also had the oppurtunity to move to a more pro gun state but decided not to, with the persuasion of corrupt Connecticut politicians So, as you were saying boy... ?

That Viper is pretty snazzy looking - love to see more partial underlug offerings in the revolver game these days. It appears to retain the problems I have with the new Cobra/King Cobra though; the squared, bent trigger guard looks strange, the grip frame isn't compatible with legacy Colt D-frame grips, the trigger face isn't wide enough, and I'd wager the trigger return spring is also a little weak as well
I am glad to see Colt continually updating its revolver lineup and giving S&W and Ruger some much needed competition. I do wish they'd heed customer input sometimes too though. (That random third vent they added to the barrel rib on the new 4.25" Python was unnecessary, makes the gun look crowded, and makes it not match the stainless or vintage models for an example.)

I was curious about the revolver's specs when I saw the video, so I looked up the gun. It is heavy for what it is, the old Viper was much lighter and Colt could make it lightweight, by using modern materials and keeping it in .38. I don't understand Colt's choice.

Yeah, its a bit strange. The Viper should be the lightweight, aluminum frame model. But its all just brand marketing these days.
