DISRUPT Full Upper Body Workout - Tempo Training | EPIC III Day 42

  • Tempo training with focus on a pause at the top of the movement, and as always controlling the lowering! Every muscle in the upper body will be tested including the shoulders, arms, chest & back!
    The timer will be on for a majority of the workout 40 seconds of work, with 20 seconds rest!
    For this workout you will need a pair of dumbbells, your mat and a chair for some body weight dips!
    The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 15kg and 6kg each!
    There are 2 staple exercises in this workout! A diagonal raise for 40 seconds, then 20 seconds rest before going into the partial range of the exercises!

    RENEGADE ROW (brief hold at top)
    STAPLE
    DIAGONAL RAISE (pause at top)
    PARTIALS!

    BENT OVER ROW (pause at top)
    PUSH UPS (pause at bottom)

    DIAGONAL RAISE (pause at top)
    PARTIALS!

    SHOULDER PRESS (pause at bottom)
    PULLOVER (PAUSE, THEN NORMAL, THEN PAUSE). *40/20/40

    The finisher really will demand the biceps and back to push out those last few reps!
    I hope you all have plenty of rest after this and a good nights sleep. This workout, if completed with focus and intent, is demanding a lot from the body so it is important to let the body rest, recover & rebuild.

    I know that so many of us love doing tempo training..it really keeps the muscles guessing what’s coming next and makes them work so hard! And what a brilliant upper body session today!       Morning, Matthew. So happy that you yesterday had a lovely walk with Rachel and that it was sunny autumn monday! Here it was rainy and gloomy and it was actually a holiday- a day we remember all the deceased loved ones.
      That was a workout!! Wow! I now know why Caroline wrote that we will need rest after this one. That was hard as hell, I reallt focused and gave my all. Used 2*10 kg and 2*6kg and it was perfect for me. Caroline is a beast, rocking 2*15 kg. Dips were super hard and bicep portion at the end was just mad! Landmine row for the last 40 sec was a complete upper body destroyer. Today I don't have time for an add-on but I am planning a walk later. Hope the sunshine comes out!

    OMG that was insane! Caroline - your strength blows me away! I tried 15kgs for the shoulder presses and had to drop to 13.5kg - watching you with 15kgs was so inspiring!! Loved this work out so much!

    That was crazy!!! Every single exercise after the push ups was burning!!! This was not just a physical workout but it was also mental!!! Well done Caroline. For another time you were astonishing!!!! I want to say more but my arms do not obey to keep up writing😁😁😁 Have everyone a great rest of the day!!!!

      Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ…what was that 🤯 I smashed this with a pair of 15kgs & 5kgs throughout. I enjoyed this one so much & to highlight, I loved it when it BURNED 🔥 A very intense session!! “READY FOR THE BLOOD TO PUMP EVEN MORE TO BICEPS” - that was wicked and it gave me a good laugh, haahaa (a moment to remember) but seriously, this was epically creative and a triset for pullover between a workout? I can only remember one song - *You blow my mind* . Thank you so much, that was an amazing upper body workout!! Have a beautiful day ahead ⭐️
      P.S - My forearms were pumped after those pullovers!!

    Love the esthetics of the video, love the strength that I am gaining. I can now do 10 regular push ups. I could not do one before starting this program. I would use my knees. Thanks for giving this to us you are appreciated 💖💖

    Who could feel his/her shoulders after Sunday’s hiit ? The staple was a killer ! But that’s when I see that I have made a lot of progress through Epic III. My upper body is stronger! ☺️ thank you Caroline !

    I hurt my shoulder a few months ago and it's not been getting better so I've really had to lower my weights....but even with low weights this was still very challenging.Thanks for another awesome workout Caroline!

    💯% Pure, intense FUN!! Enjoyed every minute of it!! Loved working the opposite side of the body each set! My favorites were the shoulder press/pullover and chest press/renegades. I was proud of myself for being able to hold on through all those push ups!👊🏻💪🏻😊! That bicep portion was killer! Especially those palm up partials! 🔥🔥🔥🥴! Loved it! Great finisher as well. My whole upper body got an amazing, solid workout!!🤩 Thanks as always Caroline! See you tomorrow!😁

      Hey Melinda! Happy to hear you smashed this workout and gave it all! Such a super upper body session and you aced it! 🖤💪🏻🖤👊🏻😁 I'm the same ... I loved chest press/renegade rows and shoulder press/pullovers (one of my favourites!). The biceps part torched ... burning all the way! 🔥😆 I finished strong ... okay my arms began to shake while doing the 30sec hold 😜 ... but I pushed through, did 30sec full reps and collapsed on my mat afterwards! 🥵🤣 Did the triceps workout straight afterwards ... love this add-on everytime it comes around! Get's the job done! 😉 Leg day drop sets tomorrow! OKAY! We are ready! 🌟 Hope you'll feel amazing for the rest of your day! Happy Tuesday! ✨💪🏻✨🤩

    Hi Caroline, Glutes on fire after yesterday's workout! We need so. Much rest this week to be able to sostain the EMOM hiit! You take so much time to write the description box that for me/us is so precious. I learned so much by only reading then I out in practice with the workout and I always get my 💯 hard work. 🙏

    This upper body tempo was really challenging especially with correct grip on dumbbells was so 🔥push-ups with pause at bottom were so amazing and cherry on top were dips omg I really felt them badly amazing session 👏

      Probably a good idea to give the EMOM a miss. It can be challenging, but as with every workout of Caroline's it's up to you to take it at your own pace. I don't get anywhere near the speed Caroline does, but I'm fine with that, and give myself a pat on the back every time I do a cardio session. Caroline has a number of LISS sessions on her channel if you wanted to do something a little less powerful. I quite often substitute one for the HIIT sessions. 🙏🙏 You keep your good health.       @L.S Goodness LS that's a lot of shifts on the bounce poor you. I'm not surprised you're legs are sore. Rest is definitely the thing to do 👍✅ to recover and let your muscles repair. Today was another huge leg day. So tomorrow you can have a rest or maybe do a short upper body workout.

    The staple, shoulder press, pushup with pause, triceps dip, biceps excercises and the finisher pushed me to exhaustion. Powerful workout. Caroline your facial expressions were hysterical. I managed to complete the tricep add on but it was so much harder after this intense workout.

    Those pauses certainly do breathe new life into the same dumbbells while at the same time they are a good way to bridge that gap to the next weight increase, as Caroline says. For example, at the beginning of Epic 1, there was no way I was able to hold 10 lbs at top lateral position. In fact I was using 8s back then I think. But today I did it on every rep. The 15 lbs still escape me, though…next Epic if there is one? Right now, my shoulders are talking to me. But most challenging by far was the bicep section. And I am happy to say it wasn’t the pushups section! As I read below from many others, we’re getting better & better at those! I didn’t have time today for the add-on. Another great session. Thank you, Caroline.

    Loved this one, tempo training, pause and control on the lowering. Assured to feel the burn here and I definitely did. I used 2x15kg and 2x6kg Dumbbells for everything else apart from the shoulder presses. I tried with the 15kg and honestly, I could hardly get those dumbbells up, Caroline G is a strong woman, wow, I was humbled today. Add on, Dumbbell Ab Workout at Home | 8 Minutes Follow Along. 👊💥💪

    I absolutely loved this tempo workout. I think the movement coupled with the pauses keeps the muscles guessing keeping them fully engaged throughout the workout. Loved the variety too. Fantastic!!!!

    I absolutely loved this format! The workout went by so quickly and the longer breaks between specific exercises meant I was able to do it full out. So proud of myself for being able to do the pushups with pause without a rest :)

    Great session today Caroline.... I used 17.5kg and 10kg DBs todays and they were just perfect. Making it to the last Rep but only just ...especially so on the Shoulder Press with that hold...that burns.... but 10 good reps with a 2-3 sec hold. Those curl pulses are a spicy wee number. Super pumped after that today really enjoyed it 😉

    I've been loving epic 3 and today was no exception. @carolinegirvan you have given me the ability to play with my grandkids and to keep up a bit with my own. In a little over a week we'll be flying west to Colorado and NM and put my increased fitness to the test!
