    6 years I have been living in Cairo, 7 years overall in Egypt. While living there, have had some really mixed up feelings. Loved the atmosphere of antient streets, spirit of an oriental city, magical Nile river, lights of the night Cairo, music... Crowded streets, honking cars, donkies on the road, people talking loudly, non-stop movement around, noise from everywhere - this is also Cairo. Some stuff couldn't accept and tolerate. Now I miss Egypt, miss Cairo, my husband's family and often cry. Egypt is my precious emotions, good friends, memories that will never be gone. It is tattooed in my heart. Sadly, could not stay there, but this is completely different story 😊

    Absolutely fantastic video in it’s genuine, non-Instagram approach. This is what probably 90% of your trip will look like, real life, real people, the traffic noise , garbage, hustle bustle of most streets. The lack of chatty-touristy comments is rather refreshing since we can find hours of tourist videos with annoying comments from non professionals. This video does not try to compete with professional tourism videos and that’s what makes it unique. But don’t be fooled by it’s simplicity, it covers a lot of ground and is done with a steady hand, nice framing and long quiet shots that makes you believe this could be you walking the streets aimlessly, just observing real life happening; no errors in film making, shots long enough to get the feeling but edited enough not to be one sided or boring or too “music video clip” like.
    I’m going there in three weeks, but have prepared by, amongst other things, looking at You Tube videos on the place, like this one.
    I know this gives a good reality check because I have travelled so much that I can see this is probably the real feeling of the place. Having done this process, without the benefit of “real life” videos like this for trips to Athens, Casablanca, Sao Paulo, Bogota, Barcelona, Havana, Algiers, Tel Aviv, Shanghai, Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh, and many others, I now know there is a deep gap between Tourism videos and real life experience. This video captures a slice of real life, from a single point of view, in a specific time, that probably represents some aspects of the experience that many will see. Obviously, some jetsetters may only see a luxury point of view, totally different than this, but that is the famous 1%, not what the average Cairo resident or visitor will see. I liked the inclusion of the Egyptair safety video, being an airline crew myself, this puts the video in a historical timeframe tighter than the 4000 years of the Pyramids, for example ! Thanks for daring to think this worthy of publishing.

      wow this was amazing video! Gen Z and their whacky nonsense needs to be purged off the internet. Was difficult just to find this one. Masterpiece. Looks like an exciting daily life. If you haven't already try Google Earth and just travel down the nile I found it really interesting how it irrigates out its all crops so many crops. And in the middle down there is a bunch of circle chemical water treatment facilities. It was just so wierd seeing how that country is laid out.

    Arrived to Cairo back in April for one week and I decided to not leave.
    This place has touched my heart for real. The simplicity of life and the beauty of the place and the people.
    With all its good and bad components.

    It's very nostalgic.
    It's been 30 years since I went to Egypt, but I remember it like it was yesterday.
    It seems like the townscape hasn't changed much since then.
    There seem to be more people around the pyramids now than there were back then.
    At that time, it was said that the number of people learning Japanese was increasing, but what about it now?
    I love Egyptians, who are cheerful, bright, kind, and friendly.
    It is thanks to the Egyptians that I was able to spend so many fun days in Egypt.

      @حلايب و شلاتين المصريه I know, I was just joking, Cairo deriving from the verb qahara, vanquish and defeat totally. I also know that Cairo has been built by the Berber Fatimids,along with Al-Azhar mosque. Both built by Jawhar the Sicilian(al-Siqilly) on order of Al-Mu-izz Li-Dini-LLah al Fatimi. So don't worry, who doesn't know the glorious history of Egypt?

    Take some footage of the DMV and the whole process. Or go to “El shahr Al 3kary” to get something done then come back and tell me how beautiful it is and the friendly wonderful people there.

      It could be anywhere really, I've been to similar-looking streets, but my best bet is that it's a side street not too far away from Downtown.

    Why are there so many old cars in Egypt?

    • @atotallyextinctdinosaur
      @atotallyextinctdinosaur 3 года назад +2

      Cause we cannot afford new cars

    • @karamany9870
      @karamany9870 3 года назад +5

      because tariffs on imported cars is very high and Egypt doesn't manufacture its own cars, so we're left with very expensive foreign cars and cheap old cars.
