    I was told, braking with the stick is no good for the Vario-transmission... But maybe nowadays it's no issue.. Although nice video George!

    I would say thats off road Tyre noise at speed, i just removed the slicks from my mountain bike and put my nobbly winter tyres back on and strait away once you hit 20mph the racket it now makes just like tractor tyres or landrovers etc.
    very impressed with that braking set up ,quality tractor.

    Great video George! Good camera angle too, I realy like these cab drive video's but I sometimes end up motion-sick when the camera is mounted on the head, so this was a great solution, enjoying the ride without getting motion sick :D

    Most fendt drivers don't use the engine break often or not at all. When we have to break you can also only just pull the vario stick backwards repeadetly(for example with pushing the break in or keep it backwards. you can also accelerate just only using the joystick: 1. Hold it forwards 2. Push it forwards repeatedly 3. Push it forwards once and than push him to the right (make sure you got the cruise control for the road selected) to enable cruise control.

    Interesting video as ever George. The only thing I don't like about the Fendt (or other modern tractors) they make the wallet squeal when they go wrong (grin).

    I drive a fastrac 7230 it drive like a dream and sounds so beautiful when pulling a simba solo

  • @MilitaryPolice23

    Surely just pulling back on the stick is sending the revvs through the roof and straining the transmission. It’s seems relatable to slowing down a car by changing down the gears with no braking, the revvs would be a extremely high

    Use the break!!! You defenetly kill the transmission by using the stick to break! Didn't you realise the noise when you put it back??
    But great video!!

      At a Fendt divers day at a Fendt dealers what George did was right Fendt tell you exhaust brake then pull back on the stick then apply foot brake if needed to come to a stop

    • @GeorgeSaunders
      @GeorgeSaunders  6 лет назад +18

      That's how exhaust brakes work they need revs to slow down

    • @frank.s74
      @frank.s74 6 лет назад +3

      Exhaust break helps but doesn't stop a full load that you have.Do you really think its cheaper to brake a 15 ton load without your trailer brakes? You gotta see it for yourself i guess. So many broken Vario Transmissions out there.

    • @bonnieboy53
      @bonnieboy53 6 лет назад

      It has happened far too much that people indeed pull back on the stick and kill the transmission. I just look and laugh at those who drive like that and destroy transmissions these days.

    The fendt is nice to drive I have to say but I had a demo of a fastrac 4220 and 8330 and nothing will come close to the comfort of the fastrac

    Love the fendt but far too much bouncing around in the cab.If you only use the joystick to brake how do following traffic know your braking??.

  • @tommyers2183
    @tommyers2183 5 лет назад

    All these comments about using brakes, no ! Not with fendts, that’s the idea you save the brakes ! Used to drive ours all day with tankers, trailers anything. Wouldn’t touch the foot break all day ! That’s how they’re supposed to be driven, obviously never let it over rev

    If you are braking on the stick, do the brake lights show on the back?

    • @dannysurman6056

      I don’t think so

    • @samvario
      @samvario 3 года назад

      Yes it does. But it won't activate any brakes, that can be very dangerous when the trailer pushes the back of the tractor sideways.

    Good evening George! Long time no see! My question is completely off topic but what was the dairy unit layout like at Bedfordia farms all those years ago and in your opinion was it a good layout of buildings and would you have changed anything? Cheers George.

    Hi George loving the videos mate.. I got a couple of questions if you don't mind? 1: Why do the tractors have road foot pedals still for the power and brake if all I see is power & braking done with that control joystick? 2: nice New Holland cap, where can I get one it looks cool? Thanks. :)

    I agree that john Deere's are rougher and i operate 6150r and when i first got in to it i came across disappointment, not just comfort but the gearbox is no where as good as vario and cvx, just seem to see John Deere over rated, cant see what makes it so good but its my opinion others find it different

    • @archie_-zv8xc
      @archie_-zv8xc 6 лет назад +2

      Mistajam honestly I think the JDs look better than most other tractors like valtras or the new optum and maxxum cases. And there jd cabs are rather comfy and are a nice place to be. (Judging from a couple hours sat in the buddy seat) only downside to the cab I found was that the seat isn’t the best and you rock side to side and up and down a lot.
