I truly can not think of a better compliment for you Mr Oliver Harrison as. And I’m sorry it sounds naff. You truly truly are a man outstanding in your field and I think British agriculture is far better with you in it. Many many thanks for you and your families efforts ( And Dad,bless him) in bringing real life into the armchair warriors. Of which I’m not there yet. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I support NFU insurance, best insurance company by far. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
Happy Birthday James. My favourite tractor is the MF 135, the tractor I first drove was Ford 5000 Selec -o- matic back in 1966. My thoughts go all who knew David. Thanks Olly and take care.
My favourite tractor is the fordson super major. Both my grandparents used them when I was growing up so hold a special place in my heart and also the first tractor I drove
My favourite tractor is a fendt 818 turbomatic as I spent many summers in it spreading sewage sludge, but then also a ford 6600 as that’s my first tractor I drove flat rolling fields when I was about ten years old. Great video Olly👌🏻👍🏻
Will agree Olly the 724 is the best, luck enough to have driven one on a Hesston and the ride and power was unbeatable. Like James little buggy and a very Happy Birthday to him. 70% Today.
Sorry to hear about your friend David it’s so sad when things like that happen we lost two close friends in those circumstances it’s heartbreaking and I hope James had a good Birthday My favourite tractor is a Case Quadtrac I know you need mega acreage to warrant one. Value for money I would back the Case. Puma it’s a good all rounder probably The Fendt will hold is money better than most feeling 70%today still in hospital yet going down to the Theatre in the morning providing it doesn’t get cancelled again brilliant video again Olly
You’re definitely going to miss your Fendt 724. It has been a very faithful servant to the farm Olly. Excellent blog, and birthday bumper stand in Ian always does well. 😊
I am not a Farmer but grew up on a farm as my best mate had a farm and from the age of 12 he had to work it as his Dad passed away and left him and his mum and sister to continue it which they did successfully as he is still farming though his sister lives on another farm and his mum passed away also which he tells me that he is now an orphan. In the early 70's I used to watch from my bedroom window very much like James the Estate Ford County Super Sixes (They had at least two of them) ploughing, running silage and grain trailers in the very large field two fields from my house so that to this day that is my favourite tractor. Happy Birthday James. My son was a difficult birth not for me I may add but he is all grown up and made me a Grampa last week so I am a very happy man. 100% today and it was warm and dry. There is a hint of rain in the air now. Typical I have just spent nine hours detailing my car but at least I will see the beading on my new wax.
My favourite tractor of all time is the tef 20 Ferguson because you can fix it in the field and it started the tractor concept 3point linkage and load sensing on the 3 point linkage please don't get me wrong there are people out there that thinks it is nuts to love this tractor but I love it because it was ahead of its time what other tractor has. Keyless starting lol
Basically agree on 724, apart from the fact that Gen 7 is even better! We've just got a 724 Gen 7 to replace an S4, but it has a lot more torque, lift capacity and tighter turn. So you're gonna love the 728. 724's are modern classics and will be revered like 7810's soon.
I’d love a 724 one day maybe my 716 is great but it’s coming up 24 years old I’m being careful with it. I loved my old 956 just for the noise. 👌80% just going through my new to me lexion that came up from your neck of the woods. Happy birthday to James 🥳
NFU seem to have no problem having a headquarters as big as google... so i hope all the farmers that are 'part' owners in the business also live in such nice accommodation.............
Difficult to choose my favourite through the years, starting when I started driving tractors, International B450 International 1455 Case international Quadtrac John Deere 7930
We have fairly recently acquired a couple of fendts, and I have to say I agree with you regarding the best tractors! Although, I do love my old mf 8690, even though some of the stuff on it doesnt work anymore!
I’ll show my age, Original Ford 8100. Was absolutely brilliant for road work, drilling, rolling and spraying. Not so good for heavy land work like ploughing but we had a TW25 for that 😊
My favourite brand has always been Fendt. So 939 or 724 are my favs followed by a Kirovets K700A, JD 6920s, MF 35 and a Claas Axion 960. Happy Birthday James!!🎉
Happy birthday James My favourite tractor is a Massey Ferguson 3080 I’m sure the 724 is a great tractor but I don’t think would remember it 30 years later.
Happy birthday James! NewHolland / Ford 7740. Loads of torque for a 95hp tractor, nimble enough. Nice engine noise, reliable when SLDP gearbox. Good fuel consumption. A bit bouncy on the road now adays. But a great tractor. Second shout would a be case MX135. Very dimilar comments to the 7740.
Belated birthday wishes for “New farm manager “, feeling about 80% today, know the feeling about flying rats, clean my car and back to square one!! There’s always something about a tractor that suits or not, have to get Charlotte training you up on climbing steps, ( yes know you have a combine)
Great video l did all my farm work on a muirhill 121 that was abig tractor at the time you needed a ladder 🪜 to get in tons of steps when bailing in and out all time when the string broke keep up the great videos
I'm really sorry for your loss Olly. Sadly my 34 year old nephew took his own life in 2018 so I know how devastating it is. Thoughts are with you and David's family at this sad time.
Great video Olly Thanks for the indepth look around on the valtra it was very interesting and I learnt something new I like the quad track it's just a beast....Happy Birthday to James 🎂🎂🎂😀😀😀😀30%
Happy Birthday James I left Farming alot of years ago so back then I loved Ford's TW's was up there but for some reason my all time favourite was a 7810
Great video Ollie and happy birthday to James looking at your fendt it’s like a space ship I started on international 674s and massy 188s I drove a fendt turbomatk don’t remember the number for a silage season for a contractor with a back push off buck rake the man who owned the contract business has passed away a long time ago.He had a brand new international 1255xl on a double chop his son still has it and it’s in mint condition this time of year has great memories .
Massey 135 is what I was first allowed to drive.. so they are my all time favourite.. best sound ever was a IH 1056.(2wd) ploughing in the mid 90’s… she just purred… JD driver these days…
Having operated jd6800 jd6910 jd4040 jd4240 jd4640 jd8970 jd8770 jd 9400 fendt 102 db1390 fendt 395 (tool carrier) fiat140 mbtrac1000 Ford 4700 mx120 mx135 mx170 magnum 7240 over 7 year career The fendt tool carrier was my favorite, best to operate all day jd8970.❤
My favourite tractor would be the claas 660 arion, tiny bit smaller than a 724 and 205hp but still more than capable if doing big tractor work and nice and small with a good turning circle 👍
Happy 2nd birthday James love your up grade ❤️ and Olly are you sure you want to get rid of the fendt 😢 can't you keep it or is this part of your deal ? Will it not keep it's value because it looks really clean inside can't say much about the outside 😂😂 great video xx and yes I remember that day and the look on your face said it all after James's birth ❤ but look at him now so grown up xx
Happy Birthday James !! I hope you had a great day on your new buggy it looks great fun 😀 My mum (who made Clara the cardigan) also says to say Happy Birthday 🥳 Fendt need to hire you for their marketing team 😂 Ian knows who’s the real boss 🤣
It's interesting, 20 years ago in Norway, a "large" farmtractor had between 100 and 120hp. Today it is 180-240 depending on the farmer. My dad bought a new Massey Ferguson 5455 with a loader in 2005, paid just under 500 000 NOK. The equivilant today would be a 5S.145 and it costs 1.5 million NOK. Same size, 40 more hp, but three times as expensive.
Happy birthday James Don’t agree with nfu insurance we have been nfu all the time but had a lot of issues not what they used to be will not use them anymore
I love (and own a restored 1000) MB Trac. I’ve been out of agriculture since the 90s when I had a JD 4755 which was superior to the Ford 8830 we also ran, in every area . NFU are a great insurer, no quibbles and I have investments too which perform well and because of the farming base, I trust them. Fendt looks amazing but I’m long ‘out of the seat’ so couldn’t probably start it, so unfair to comment on modern stuff.
If I came to work for you and you said pick your tractor I’d say the 1455xl all day long , 956 was the best tractor ever made , in our area the land is steep and it sits so well across the steep , but also never driven a fendt so maybe I might like it . The valtra looks awesome to be fair
Dry with sunny intervals; warm enough to sit out. Only 90% today because the nurses have started treating the symptoms of the dialysis machines instead of the patients. Different route to and from hospital so only 5 yellow cars, plus one purple and one orange. Oh and a John Deere on the bypass (70mph road).
leyland 282 syncro was my favourite tractor. quick, turn on a sixpence, plenty of power. worst tractor john deere 3650 good tractor hated those silly small sg2 cabs. one door always having to run around the tractor to unblock the forager pickup reel. so we put a 150hp wagon engine in the leyland to pull the chopper. iam deaf as a post now.
I was 1st introduced to tractors by way of MF135 and MF165 so they hold a special place in my memory
70% today
Happy birthday James
Here here, lovely tractors still going strong today.
Cheers, Poth.

A zero day for me 1 year to the day my dad passed and right to the end wanted me get him a copy of farmers weekly. 😢
My favourite tractor is the fordson super major. Both my grandparents used them when I was growing up so hold a special place in my heart and also the first tractor I drove

Will agree Olly the 724 is the best, luck enough to have driven one on a Hesston and the ride and power was unbeatable. Like James little buggy and a very Happy Birthday to him. 70% Today.

Used to love driving the old 412 and 820 fendts. Spent a few days in a 720 one gen behind yours, and once I found my way around it, I loved it
Case MXU135 6litre Perkins engine that made a gorgeous noise. Spent many a day in it, comfortable & with great vision.

Got my 724 on the tempo maize drill at the moment, loving life, want nothing else!
