Rob is good on bass, but Newsted is a beast on stage. I will never forget Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. When I saw Jason i think "wow, this dude have more energy than year production of duracell"
Cliff Burton was better than both Rob and Jason..

Cliff, Jason, and Rob (not Bob) all brought different things to the table as bassists to make great music.

Parts of this have a Black Sabbath "Heaven and Hell" feel. Love it! Best thing that ever happened to metal was Newsted and Mustaine leaving Metallica. Nothing against Metallica. I like them too. This way there's 3 great bands.

I think the opposite. He (newsted) also says that he cannot be not influenced by metallica which is true and very honest of him. Still if nobody told me this was newsted's band and song I'd say that they are a bunch of guys inlfuenced by motorhead, load (this song especially) black sabbath on the next song etc. Not exactly metal by the way besides the name. Old school sure. Good luck to him and I hope he pushes more on the writing process and lets the others chime in.

I think he's trying to create something that's completely distinct from his work in Metallica. His new stuff is going to be compared with Metallica no matter what, but I feel like he's trying to go for a different vibe on purpose.
