I love your stuff, it has helped a lot. But I just can’t visualize in my mind what I’m seeing with side scan. What is the black area between the boat line and first visible stuff? Is the visible stuff like trees at 15:30 in the video right below the boat or where? The split screen down view and side scan helped until seeing coves yet the down view looked like lake bottom. I have the 93sv, I just wish I could find education on exactly what I’m looking at. Any help is appreciated.
The black in the middle represents the depth, the wider the black strip gets the deeper the water. This video may help a little ruclips.net/video/qh2fRf6Y-W8/видео.html

I understand the line is the boat bottom, the black is the water column. Could you please explain the yellow, green colors? Is the green the surface and the yellow / white edge at the bottom? I don't understand the orientation! Thanks!
Hi Walter, the different color shades represent the “hardness” or density of the object or the bottom. Generally speaking the lighter the shade the harder the surface. Side vu has what are called shadows, the dark spots are shadows from objects sticking up from the bottom. Think of shining a flashlight at an angle towards the floor with boxes on the floor casting shadows. Takes some getting use to.
When your in the side vu menu press the menu button in the bottom right corner and the pop up menu will have a frequency tab to select 1120khz, have a great day!!
Thank you !! I won't have my boat this year , so I will be fishing out of kayak this year , I was worried that wouldn't work from a kayak . Thanks again
Sir I apologize! Turns out I don`t have the EchoMap UHD93SV that I thought I had but rather the EchoMap Plus 93SV version with the GT52 transducer. Will the GT54 transducer work with the Echomap plus??
Not sure if the connections will work without an adaptor? I would call Garmin 800 800-1020, use the callback feature they always call back in about 30 minutes
i have a question. i have my transducer of my 93sv uhd mounted on 55 hand held minnkota in rear of my boat and im having a problem seeing my jig go down even when i drop the lure right at the transducer what am idoing wrong
How deep are you jigging, I’ve noticed it works good over 20’. You can set your traditional frequency lower to widen the cone angle. Trey using a split frequency screen with chirp on one side and a low frequency on the other. Clear vu won’t pick up a jig. Also check your scroll speed and play with that if you are sitting in one spot. Might need to take it off auto, have a great weekend!!!
Try adjusting your trim when you see the “wash out”. Other than that all you can do is physically move the transducer towards or away from the motor. Our buddy at @ MG marine tech just dropped a video that touches on that, might give it a look to see if that looks the same. See below ruclips.net/video/CNbYs_k1ysg/видео.html
I have a vertical line that is always on ( don't know how i managed to put on my screen ) that shows the depth at a certain distance from my centerline. What does it do, and how do i get rid of it ? Also, do you have a video explaining the actual distance away from your boat it is!? I know the depth of water you're in and what the range lines say are not correct. I'm assuming that line is showing me the true distance, but I don't know!!???
@DoubleTFishing side imaging. How do you Calculate the actual distance from your center line to a piece of structure? What does the width of the black section under the boat represent ? I know it's either depends on the depth or the range you have it or both .? 93sv btw...
@hav2fsh1 the width of the black section in the center represents the water depth. The easiest way to get distances is to hit the pause button in the lower left corner of the screen and move the crosshairs over the object. There will be boxes on the crosshairs that show both distance and depth
@DoubleTFishing it is showing the depth line continually, but only in si mode.? Almost like it's been set to show a certain distance from the boat but is never the same as the " range lines " .?
Sounds like your “zoom” is in “auto”. Go into your side vu screen and touch “menu” on the bottom. Go into the zoom functions and turn everything off except “manual”. This video may be helpful ruclips.net/video/mUVxJSebTHw/видео.html
That’s a new one for me. Unless your running into heavy overhead cover or fishing along steep canyon walls. I do loose signal in my lake when I’m running bluff walls once in awhile. I’d give Garmin a call or email. 800 800-1020. Have a great weekend!!

I really love your videos! You explain everything sir.How do I select the 1120Khz frequency on my screen? My setup is the 93SV & GT54 transducer also.

Great video ! How slow can you go with the side view ? Plan on buying the 93sv echomap .
I normally travel at least 4mph but you can go slower. Turn your scroll speed to auto so it can adjust to various speeds

A vertical line (up and down on the screen) I’m not sure about? Is it on all your sonar screens or just traditional?

Yes sir, sonar is a sound wave that is not dependent on light or visibility. Appreciate the comment, have a great day!!

what speed do i nd to go my boat is total electric

Thanks
I would have voted for sidevu. I can’t fish without it.
It’s a useful tool, thanks for sharing!
I am so sorry my Gramin is not touch scream : EchoMap Chirp 95 SV.
I had to flip my view. My fish finder is behind me so I had to switch it so I can keep my sides correct
I figured that out after I made the video 😂, thanks for sharing and have a great day!!
