It’s actually an extension. The father will meticulously do this until the father is absolutely satisfied. So when the son ask the father will tell him “about the time and hour” only I will know. When the time is ready, the father will declare to the son. The son then takes an entourage to meet the bride. He sends his forerunner. He announces “prepare for the groom”. This is the moment when the bride suddenly realizes it’s her wedding day. She immediately puts on his wedding dress. Suddenly in a blink of an eye, she is transformed into the bride and the attention of her hometown. She meets the husband halfway and is taken to the father’s house for a feast that last for 7 days. You are that bride. You were purchased with a great price. You took a cup of forgiveness of sins Jesus took your cup in the garden. He told you he will prepare a place for you. John was the forerunner. The wedding took place when he died on the cross. You were separated from the law and married to him. The meeting of the halfway point took place in AD70 when you met him in the air. That’s what it means. So it’s about a wedding. You are that bride.
Jesus did not mean, he did not know when he is coming back. He was speaking about how he was going to usher the Jews into the new covenant through the marriage of the Lamb. Please read my blog “what no one knows the time and hour mean?” Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. It is a Jewish custom for the father of the groom to prepare the house for the bride. It has to beautiful and befitting to usher the new bride. The son of course being excited would always want it to be as soon as possible. So he ask the father “when can I bring my wife back?” The father will say “when the room is ready.” He builds an extension to his house but the room has to be perfect. Not for the husband but for the wife. So he says to the son “only I will know”. So when Jesus said this, he wasn’t saying to them he did not know the time of his coming. He was saying that they were about to leave the old covenant and entered into a new one. They were about to be separated from their old “husband” and to be married to Jesus their new husband. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.” How can it be that the Thessalonians knew he was coming and Jesus doesn’t? Jesus actually knew when he would come. If you bothered to read further in Matthew 24, he actually said it. im so excited to see Jesus christ for his second return I don't care for what things happen saying in the book of revelation and i will be ready for that
I brooded and prayed over this parable for many years. Here is what I believe the Lord showed me concerning it: First, note that they were all virgins. Indicating that they were all made pure by Christ and thus all believers. Also, note that they all had oil in their lamps (spirits), except that the wise had oil in their vessels (souls) but the foolish did not. (Oil is symbolic of the Holy Spirit). So, when we receive Christ, He comes into our Spirits, but it is our yielding to Him that allows Him to work into our Soul life. The wise virgins prepared themselves for the coming of the bridegroom, meaning that they followed Him and kept His word and had an intimate relationship with Him in their prayer life and service toward Him, whereas the foolish were careless and obviously did not draw near to Him as indicated by their not having oil in their vessels. And so, when the bridegroom came, they all heard the announcement of his coming and went out into the night to meet Him with their lamps to give them light along the way. However, it seems that the journey is somewhat long and the foolish virgins did not have oil in their vessels to keep their lamps burning and were unable to complete the journey and therefore were left behind. Now, here is where a lot of controversy and various interpretations come in with various Christians. As we read further, Jesus says of the foolish that were left behind, that they came knocking at heavens door (in prayer) beckoning to be left in, yet the Lord says, go away, for I never knew you. When we look at the meaning of 'know' in the Hebrew, it means to have an intimate relationship with another, much like as a man knows a woman intimately. So it is made clear here, that although they were believers from the beginning, they did not follow the Lord and draw near to Him and and have a personal relationship with Him and therefore He did not know them. So, then it says that they were cast into outer darkness, where there was weeping and grinding of teeth (regret). Some Christians believe that this "outer darkness" is the Tribulation of which they must go through as a chastening by the Lord and although they were not wed to the bridegroom, nevertheless they are still saved in the end. They point to the fact that Jesus said He would never leave you nor forsake you if you are saved. And we know that they were indeed saved and were believers, as they had the Holy Spirit (oil in their lamps). Other Christians will say that out of their carelessness, they lost their salvation. And so this opens a can of worms as to whether or not a believer can lose their salvation. Well, I suppose that we will never really know what happens to those that are left behind. We can only hope that the Lord is merciful.
But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ Be on the alert then, because you do not know the day nor the hour. The simple text is explicit; don't confound it to fit your preference just have faith and believe, or you too will be lost.
I love this parable! Jesus Christ loves each of you so very much that he died for you, and for me! He did this not so that we could "earn heaven," because that's impossible, but so that we can "learn heaven," or in other words, learn wisdom by trying to love God and mankind a little more each day. This oil I believe is the "eternal wisdom of love," because the pure love of God, and for others can last for all eternity! This is only possible because Jesus Christ first loved us with his whole being!
Oil signifies the anointing or empowerment of Holy Spirit for one's life and ministry to others. We must be filled with Him even when we get tired and fall asleep; should we die while waiting for Christ's return. Then, when the shout comes that He is ready and coming we will have enough power/oil to get up, go in and sup with Jesus Christ and others who were "wise."
This parable is so clear to me as a convert into the true church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Where nothing is for sale and everything is true.
I’m sorry but that church contradicts the word of God. Your church adds more scripture to the already completed word of God. (book of mormon). Your church believes that Jesus was a created being and not the one true God who has always been on the throne and the right and of the Father. Turn from this evil church and cling to Christ. He will show you the truth. God bless.
This parable demonstrates the importance of a daily walk with Jesus, taking up our cross daily and denying ourselves and following him. It also runs with the parable of the sower where many heard the word but few retained it.
No sorry, it is obvious that you do not have to serve him; in fact, we have the ultimate choice to do it. I am not talking about possible consequences ...
Parables that only few can understand Thank you lord Jesus for the wisdom.. I know why you did this parables because the evil can't understand it.. A daily bread from you.. Amen
"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you." -Matthew 6:5-6
Another wonderful missionary tool the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is providing to reach out--through social media--to the growing numbers of good honest people throughout the world increasingly seeking, searching and even praying to find eternal truths. It is also a blessing for members of Christ's church to feed our growing faith and that of our families and friends as we walk through life doing the best we can on each and any given day.
"If" you do what Jesus Christ says to do he will let you in. "If" you do not do the things Jesus Christ has said to do he will not let you in. Do those things that Jesus Christ has said to do and have oil in your lamps.
This parable is in correct for the man says that we cannot use someone’s else’s good works to enter heaven , good works cannot get you heaven, the word of god says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling
Hi Ryan A, I respectfully disagree with what you are saying. Robert isn't implying that we are saved by our good works alone. Of course it is only by, through, and because of the grace of Christ that we are saved, but we have to choose to access his grace through our faith to be saved. In other words we have to repent daily, and obey what Jesus Christ taught, to be saved. Also although we are not saved by our good works by themselves, they go hand in hand with faith, after all we are taught in the Bible that faith without works is dead. If we accept Christ to be our savior, with our words alone, and don't choose to access his grace through our loving faithfulness, our "faith," is fake. To sum it up, to access the grace of Christ we have to show great love for him, and since he knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts, he won't save those that don't love him. This is an absolutely beautiful parable! God bless you brother! No pressure to you, but if you want to learn more about how Christ can really transform human nature, through his infinite love for us, go to: churchofjesuschrist.org for more great info! The corn. To the wise virgins, come and see. That which was done in the beginning expect it at the end. And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only. The corn. To the wise virgins, come and see. That which was done in the beginning expect it at the end. When the last within the beginning of the Alpha, becomes first expect the first within the end of the Omega, to become last. Do not muzzle the ox that trade out THE CORN!
Scripture says that a day is coming, a famine, not of bread or water, but of hearing the Word of God. Jesus said that blessed are they that hear the Word of God and KEEP it. Jesus spoke of a wise servant that prepared and distributed a word in season to those lost in the commotion, likened to the preparation of both Joseph and Obadiah. As in the days of Noah, Jesus advised to lay up in store for a similar metaphorical time, where he was tasked to bring in all types of food to sustain every creature in the ark. Conclusion: The oil is The Word of God. Whatever level of internal sustenance one can maintain from memory is the volume in the lamp. The extra vessel with the lamp is your physical Bible. You cannot let go of that because you need it yourself. Going to buy one if you didn't heed Jesus' other parables such as "return not to your house" "take nothing out of your house" or "go not up to the rooftop".... that might become perilous. Make sure you always have your, or a Bible on you at all times, just think about Moses' words, bind them on your hand, as frontlets before your eyes... If you are a person "of means", please take up this charge, millions are going to need it. One day, we will rejoice , but with sadness also, as God is not willing that ANY should perish.
I don't think chastity has got anything to do with it. "Virgin" is probably just the translation of a word for a young woman. They are also not going to get married, as only one bridegroom is awaited and finally arrives. I think maybe the Ancient Hebrews had a ritual where a groom would be accompanied to a wedding feast by a group of virgins bearing lamps; probably some origin in a fertility rite. It was always somewhat mysterious for me that the feast was held so late at night. Yes, burning the midnight oil, and all that, but maybe it was just to show how unwise the virgins were as they now had no opportunity to buy oil and correct their mistake. Or maybe this ritual with the groom had to be at night. Or maybe midnight came just because the groom arrived so late.
Friends be true in your faith and relationship with Jesus. You can't only appear to be a vessel of light without salvation. It is unwise and foolish. Those true in their faith have gods spirit that sustains you. When it is time to meet your maker it is too late to go and purchase a false ticket of entry. If you knew the cost you would know that it is not for sale from any other man. Work out your salvation through Christ before you miss out on gods eternal wedding. Then he will welcome you in as you have already been introduced in loving union and are known welcome.
Hi, It might seem scary, but when we study the other parables that Christ taught, we have a better view of both laws of justice and mercy. When we choose to sin, we distance ourselves from God, but the moment we choose to sincerely repent, the grace of Christ has the power to transform our very nature. This requires effort, but it certainly doesn't require perfect obedience here in mortality. Like the parable of the prodigal Son, our loving Savior Jesus Christ has his arms outstretched to receive us, in his loving embrace forever! We can do it! God is cheering us on! I hope that everyone, especially my enemies will want to repent, and choose to love God, and all mankind.

Correct
Indeed.
No one know the day nor the hour when the Son of Man shall come.
When a Jewish man wants to marry. He would bring his father to see his girl friend’s dad. They would then discuss a “deposit” that is to be paid.
After they pay the bride is deemed to be purchase with a price. Then a covenant meal is taken. The bride to be and the man exchange cups. The bride takes the cup of blessing. The husband the cup of suffering.
Then the father and the son leaves home. The father would then prepares a room as an extension of his house for the bride and the husband.
You took a cup of forgiveness of sins
Jesus took your cup in the garden.
Please read my blog “what no one knows the time and hour mean?”
Matthew 24:36
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
It is a Jewish custom for the father of the groom to prepare the house for the bride. It has to beautiful and befitting to usher the new bride.
The son of course being excited would always want it to be as soon as possible. So he ask the father “when can I bring my wife back?”
The father will say “when the room is ready.” He builds an extension to his house but the room has to be perfect.
It has nothing to do with the timing of his coming. Otherwise Paul would not have written this.

Matthew 24:34-35

Two things he said.
1. This generation. It will come within 40 years after what Jesus said in Matthew 24.
It will come within that generation he had come to.
2. Heaven and earth passes away. The term “heaven and earth” is a Hebrew colloquial term for the temple.

Kathy Aumont .
you are in the right church.
Kathy Aumont AMEN!
Jesus
This parable is so clear to you? Then I need you to explain it to me because I I want to understand
God bless.
I fear for myself for I know my heart and tremble knowing that my asking when He will come is just my way of procrastinating.
Lord Jesus, help us to be ready for your coming in Jesus name. Amen and Amen
This parable demonstrates the importance of a daily walk with Jesus, taking up our cross daily and denying ourselves and following him. It also runs with the parable of the sower where many heard the word but few retained it.
God is good and Jesus Christ
Jesus is the light of the world! amen
God is almighty all powerful and must serve him
No sorry, it is obvious that you do not have to serve him; in fact, we have the ultimate choice to do it. I am not talking about possible consequences ...
Parables that only few can understand Thank you lord Jesus for the wisdom.. I know why you did this parables because the evil can't understand it.. A daily bread from you.. Amen
I REPENT LORD JESUS FORGIVE ME OF MY SINS PLEA THE BLOOD OF JESUS WASH ME IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB🙏🙏🙏
Jesus is the Truth. God bless.
God bless! Jesus loves you! Amen!
@Robert Sinclair amen
Jesus described the brides as 10 virgins, this shows Jesus truly emphasized the chastity of a person before marriage.
Hi Ryan A,
I respectfully disagree with what you are saying.

The lamps and oil are so important! This is where Jesus said that that you have cherish it. Lord help me to keep my lamp trimmed and filled with oil. This is a time that we are not to share with those who do not have enough because it involves the keeping of our Souls and right standing with the Lord. Help Lord. The Bible says: Workout your own Soul's salvation with fear and trembling.

Isaiah 45:21 KJV - Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
The corn. To the wise virgins, come and see. That which was done in the beginning expect it at the end. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences
Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Matthew 25:2. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Genesis 41:7. To the wise virgins, come and see. And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.

I kings 12:20.

Beautiful....:)

Amen😭😭🙏
Jesus described the brides as 10 virgins, this shows Jesus truly emphasized the chastity of a person before marriage.
Amen
Friends be true in your faith and relationship with Jesus.
You can't only appear to be a vessel of light without salvation. It is unwise and foolish.
Those true in their faith have gods spirit that sustains you.
When it is time to meet your maker it is too late to go and purchase a false ticket of entry. If you knew the cost you would know that it is not for sale from any other man. Work out your salvation through Christ before you miss out on gods eternal wedding. Then he will welcome you in as you have already been introduced in loving union and are known welcome.
so makes me wonder can anyone predict the year of his coming back to earth but not the day or the hour in that year
Amen 🙏 🙏

They make these sound so scary for the people that make mistakes and don't do the right thing.
If it says you are rejected by God this is scary
Hi,
It might seem scary, but when we study the other parables that Christ taught, we have a better view of both laws of justice and mercy.
I hope that everyone, especially my enemies will want to repent, and choose to love God, and all mankind.
do your callings and obey all the commandments. Keep your covenants and your oil will fail you when the time comes for the marrage to his people
Can i use your bible videos for online teaching and preaching? They're beautiful and excellently made. :)

Why did they not act out the parable?
Its talking about the Gospel
What is the lamp and what is the oil ... Someone had one but not the other. How many of you keep the 4th commandment and how do you keep it, lavish speaking does no one good if he has no understanding
I always knew Jesus was a white British guy and not some brown skin fellow from the Middle East🕊💕👑
