Tuned in too late for the live feed but I have this exact same panel. When I made my quilt I hand embroidered the animals and straight stitched around the border. Never thought of using the embroidery machine. What a great idea 😊
Hazel was given a quilt made from that panel by a great aunt. Wondering if you could uses loftier batting? I like a loftier poly in a baby quilt. Love the purple pinwheels on the other quilt you’re making. It’s a very interesting process to watch, thank you.
Hi Di Hazel was blessed to get such a cute quilt from her Aunt ❤️ As far as the loftier ploy I would think it would be fine but now I’m thinking I might have to try it to see how it stitches out! Glad you liked the pinwheels-- I thought it was so fun! Thanks for watching my channel Di 😊
Hello from Zelienople, Pa. I enjoy watching these video and learning from these. I am making my second baby quilt for my 10th great grandson due this Thursday, so I better get quilting.
I would love to see a video using regular machine fancy stitches instead of an embroidery machine. Many of us don't gave an embroidery machine. Thanks April.
Absolutely NO reason you can't go with a frame that's bigger than your stitchout area; especially when the "right size" hoop isn't magnetic. Love my magnetic hoops. I look forward to your "more precise" video. I have been machine embroidering for almost 15 years, have 3 machines, and would like to do my own quilting. I want to see if I can pick up any tips from you in that regard. What you could have done with this panel was used your end to end design for the main panel and done some FMQ on the borders. Best embroidery threads: Madeira, Floriani, and Isacord. Worst: Sulky. I've never used Glide but will try it. Embroidery tape is usually used for when you're stitching out 3-D things such as bags or plushies where you have to secure things at the back of the hoop to keep pieces from getting caught where they're not supposed to get stitched (if that makes sense). I wasn't clear on how you were wanting to use the tape with the end to end quilting.
Thanks April.
