Huh. I would always just sit around and wait for it to say it. If you had told me that there was a way to make it go "Ghostbusters!" on command, I 100% would have done it.
I love how even with the karaoke version, like as in an INSTRUMENTAL chiptune cover, there's still a VERY NOTICABLE spike in replays at the "Bustin' makes me feel good" part. Like this isn't small enough to be an anomaly. Maybe it's just people liking how the SID cover sounds at that bit, but my intuition tells me otherwise. It's at around 3:05 in the song, if you want to know.
But this is more nostalgic. I remember playing this game on my C64 as a mere hatchling, didn't even watch the movie yet. ...in the 2000s. Yeah, I was a weird kid.
Well, this game is quite bad. It's just that this version is nowhere near as bad as the NES version. You want something worse from Activision, look no further than Super Pitfall!
Now we know where the terrible NES sound byte came from. I guess they really had to compress it on there. It sounds WAY better here. The powers of the SID chip!
I sort of wish they snuck this in as a B-side on a cassette single of the Ghostbusters theme. Like imagine popping this BANGER (or should I say BUSTER?) of a song into your C64, only to have it load up this game! Man if I was in charge....
Speaking of Apple II, (or Apple III?) there was a good version of the old Donkey Kong, long before Donkey Kong Country of 1994! Because before 1994 coincidentally, I was in a school that mostly had Apple computers and most of them were Apple IIs, followed by Apple IIgs-es and/or Apple IIIs. They had some Macintoshes, but the classrooms seemed to not get them usually.
why did I let my husband get rid of our old Commodore????? this game was SO difficult but I used to love playing it just to listen to this - thanks for sharing!!!
Sometimes the timing is lucky. Our family decided to sell our C64 to a local family. It DIED on them! 😐 (This was the 90s and there were no shenanigans, just a very loved C64 we would rather re-home than bin!)
Ok while this game was REAMS better than the NES one, (hot take incoming) this one kind of sucked too. Like it was OK, and at least you couldn't say it was poorly made, but it just wasn't fun. Especially for such a big movie.
it would have been a lot better if it was just a tape with this intro song on it. Seriously though, if I could go back in time and warn my past self not to buy this game...
I always wondered who it was supposed to be that was saying that, is it like, The ghost on the title or something??? but then why would a GHOST say it???
I hope Forza Horizon 5 or Forza Motorsport 8 has and uses a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Sentinel limo. That 1959 Cadillac deserves a fully race upgraded mod engine with twin turbos and custom 4-speed racing transmission reaching its fastest possible top speed.
@@lockone1977 Yeah there is one part on the SMS that sounds more like ambulance sirens going down the road than music but I think that is why I liked it because a good portion of the game was when they were driving that converted ambulance all over town so I guess it kicked in my childish imagination into thinking, "Wouldn't it be cool to see an ambulance going down the street playing this music!?" But you're not wrong either lol!
Someone forgot to press the spacebar on the “Ghostbusters” bit!!! 😂😂😂

Not too bad, though. Because the "Ghostbusters" call you could get when pressing space did not fit the music. Was awesome, though.

Best intro at the time, closest to the actual song. I did not believe that with this primitive synth, you could get that close!
And then we got some EPIC sid tunes in the late '80s...
