Watched yesterday but RUclips had me on a timeout, LOL ! This is the first year in many that the rains are holding off, normally if you did not finish a task here it meant it was sure to rain ! Best days to you and yours Dave 👍
awesome video, just the way i think. fastest, easiest, but effective way. as long as you remove and stop the rust, then add preventive coating, you basically dont have to remove everything. you had the tools, so it makes sense, but wow, that was easy. great job. looking forward to the end result.
Raybucks, sells molded to fit rockers that fit perfect cab corners too. Then blast the fluid film inside all the holes made into the rockets and inner rockets. Fun fun
For those who wish to fight rust. There is one thing to know : to be definitively efficient against rust, you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and poor old oil everywhere each year. rust always comes from the inside and welds. Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france
Absolutely and the truck was never driven in the snow and only had 43,000 miles on it and it was a big hole like yours on both sides in that same spot the dealer seem to know about the issue
Next time you have to remove a panel that has been spot welded drill the weld about half way through then hit it with the air chisel. It'll pop right off.
Just patched the sills on my van, and it passed the mot yesterday with no advisories! :) ... and a wee tip I'd recommend is either cover the rest of the car with something whilst you're cutting metal, or be sure to give it a good wash down to remove all those metal filings. Looks like you were lucky to get a heavy rainfall, but a heavy dew the morning after doing such work can result in lots of rusty specs all over your paintwork ... ask me how I know! :(
I 100% agree that peeling away rust and or watching it be peeled away is just as satisfying as popping the packing bubbles.

Can't believe you don't have many more subs...should have 100K .
Thanks David. There's way too many younger and handsomer tubers out there. I have no chance.

Almost done, someone is going to buy a pretty good pick up
Same exact spot as my 09 ram I just traded it in for a 22 to 6 months ago, I fluid filmed the hell out of the new truck
They are rusting from the inside out, so byy the time you see a bubble, the whole lot is doomed.

you need a cab corner too
Where did you order the rocker panels from? Thanks
Was that rust converter you brushed on the brackets or primer?
Rust convertor. I was was expecting the clear stuff, but this is also a primer, so win win.
Where did u buy them? Rock Auto?
I actually got them in Canada, from this place: www.noramstore.ca/
Ah so Canada is just like Knockhill , great untill it rains ;-)
