Back in 2009 I was in the market for a car, manual only so my options were limited. I looked at the G35 coupe and the 350Z. Zero manuals on the lots. Ended up going with an Altima, manual, and still drive it to this day. But I test drove the G35 and man was it fun.
some would say I have an issue, I have 4 G35 coupes, 2003 in red, 2 04's pearl white and black and a 05 in process of redoing in 350z Blue, and a 08 G37S coupe, they are good cars and all to me have held up reasonably well over the years
Got a mint 2003 g35 6 speed sedan, heated seats, navigation package. One owner, bought it at only 64K. Looked for months before I found a clean one & it's been solid for the last 4 years.
Yep. I had a 2003 sedan, desert platinum outside and tan cloth inside. I turned it in at 208,000 mi with the only issue being intermittent issues with what I believe was the ignition system because after a while of switching the key on and off it would start just fun to drive.

I have a 2008 G37 coupe I’ve owned for about 6 years now, I’ve had my fair share of issues with the car but despite all that I still love it. One of my catalytic converter is rattling because of the broken insides and living in California with strict rules I’ve just learned to live with it. Unfortunately I’ve also found myself outgrowing the car in my life, but I don’t want to let go just yet… I feel this car might be rare someday.
Bout a used g35x 6 years ago. body perfect now have 390,000km no motor or transmission problems but front end bushings all needed replacing. Just love this car! Very comfortable and able to pass anything on the road. ❤
2006 G35 coupe w/132K miles. I bought it in early 2012 with 80K miles and it's been great. This car started out it's life as a lease vehicle for 2-3 years, then an older guy bought it and owned it until he died. I'm owner three and will die owning it. I had to spend zero on anything except fuel, oil changes, filters until 2023 and then it started to turn around and bite me. Replaced both rear axle bearings, new cam and crank sensors,heater/AC fan relay got replaced. I've replaced all the belts and radiator hoses along with the cap. I put new tires on it in early 2023. I changed out both window motors a couple of years ago,did that myself and saved a ton. The AC is still ice freakin COLD. I have the same issues they all will have with the small stress cracks in the dash covering, on the BOSE system the CD player died a year ago, (with some CD's stuck in it) radio still works fine. The car is black with the tan interior and still looks great. No rust to be found. It's always garaged and never driven in crap weather. Being retired it only gets about 4K miles on it per year. I'm 71 now and still love sports cars. This car will be 20 years old in 11 months and still looks new.
Just picked up a 2005 revup sedan that has a bad ecm for 2k with only 114k on the clock, working on getting it road going again but so far impressions are pretty good, it's definitely a comfortable car
I wish you did more detail on the 07 and 08 G35 sedan models. I currently daily drive an 08 G35XS sedan and I absolutely love it!! The car has held up so well over the last 6 years I've owned it. My G is also the rarer metallic red paint color. Plus in the 07/08 models the G35 got the VQ35HR which had dual air intakes as opposed to single on the previous DE model and the engine reved higher than the DE engine. If you got the top level version like mine then you also got adaptive cruise control, magnesium paddle shifters, & adaptive HID headlights.
06 G35X owner from Nigeria. It’s got a very potent power. It’s still quick for it’s age and looks different from every other conventional vehicle out there. However, I have had to replace the automatic transmission twice and as such, I’ve parked it for over a year.
I own a 03 and this car has been a solid car throughout the 8 years I have owned it! I love my sedan so much I m currently looking for a southern coupe to completely restore!
I have a 2007 G35S 6MT. 260.000 km and running great. A few rust spots that can be fixed. It has everything that you mentioned plus the rear spoiler. The best car that I have ever had. Looking to change it for a Q50S but I do not think I will get the same fun and sporty feeling.
Had an 05 coupe. Loved the car so much. Had to let it go for some reason. But gladly, got my hands on a 08 G37 coupe later. Puts a smile on my face everytime i drive it 😍
I had a 2006 G35x that was by far the best car I’ve ever owned and at my age I owned a lot. It was so good I kept it for nine years and only sold it for better gas mileage. Only routine maintenance the whole time I owned it.
About it buy one from an old lady for 500 was her husband's but it's been parked since he passed and the crank sensor went out gonna turn it into a show car and keep it from sideshows or turn it into a vaydor either way it's definitely gonna be taken well care of
They certainly looked fantastic for their time, but they definitely are not of a timeless design language, it doesn't hold up to today's standards. The Q60 RS Coupe looks absolutely nuts, what a great looking car.
I prefer the older design.. All the new vehicles seem to have gone to an angular look. Too many sharp angles for my taste. Have a G35X, still looks fresh to my eye.
'04 g35 sedan. Love this car! Leather is gorgeous and very comfortable. One important thing is that she doesnt run right if you dont put premium in it! Non-ethanol, of course! Im so hooked on Infinitis! LOL
This july I will have had my coupe for 17 years. Hard to believe. I have redone the tech in it, it has a nice factory look to it while having the touch screen, car play, etc. All pieces of the interior have been painted (keeping factory look for the most part). After market rims were put on it in December of 2015. Car looks sharp. It only puts about 2,500 miles on it a year. Mostly it sits in the garage or on the driveway. I still get many, many compliments on it today. Car looks brand new. Paint looks brand new. (ceramic coated with Tech582 always put on it as well). Love my coupe. I will have it probably indefinitely. I have toyed with the idea of making it a show car.
I bought an 04 g35 to cut it to pieces and make a vaydor. I actually placed the order and they never filled my order. Was pricey in my opinion at 16,000 for the body and interior on a sale they offered. So I didn't push on them to fill my order. Been driving the 6spd daily...80 miles round trip. Coming home has alot of bumper to bumper traffic. I'll say this. I have owned around 40 cars easy. Including vettes, mustangs, rx8s, and bmws to name a few. The 04 g35 is a master piece for the streets. It can go into 6th gear at 25 mph. You can stay there till top speed. I'm not sure if the clutch is hydraulic. Haven't had to work on that part. She dang near shifts herself. Just pure pleasure to drive... even in traffic. 90% of my shift don't even need the clutch. In my opinion the gas mileage is great too. Very quick and don't drink as much as a v8 of course. Apples to apples comparison. I never make excuses for a machine. No one gives them to me. So I call it for what it is.
Had a 05 sedan in pearl white. It had power but wasn't too happy about the build quality and oil consumption. I had issued with the cluster specifically the gas meter. I wasted $900 on replacing gas pump and gas tank sensors. Also, had a leak from the oil cooler. I rather have a Lexus and Acura to be quite honest.
Very informative I love your style. Last year I picked up an '04 G35/S, sedan with 6 speed manual with black leather interior, reclining rear seats, ivory pearl white paint which I believe is the most rare or second most rare color for a bit there along side the rare blue. I paid 5 grand cash and it came with raceland coils, a mishimoto aluminum radiator, an injen cold air intake and full N1 lip kit. I'd love to see the dealership msrp paper.
I took the G35x through a hurricane on 95 here in Florida through mud, pooling water, better than trucks. Then had it in heavy snow on Chicago like a champ.. phenomenal car. Had the rwd 2007 sedan doing 134mph (like an idiot ha) it did it flawlessly and was very sturdy
I have a 2007 G35S. Put a used engine in it to rebuild the original HR engine. I’ve put a lot of upgrades on it to make it even better. Love this car. 223K on odometer.

I like to think I saved my 06 g35 MT from becoming a takeover kid car. Same day it was posted on dealership i bought it. 115k miles clean record and completely barebone stock. Bought it that same day because they were getting calls to look at it throughout the week. I just hope i can continue keep the car in mint shape because its great
I have an '08 G35 Jouney, which my bf, a former Porsche owner and now a BMW Z4 owner, calls an old lady's car, but beleive me, IT"S NOT an old lady's car (although I AM an old lady, haha, mid sixties but still love to go fast). My car was a steal, owned by an older gentleman, covered in his driveway in perfect condition, with 80,000 mi on it. I bought it in 2015 for $12, 000. He had every service record on the car since new! i now have 138,000 mi on the car and have not had a single problem with it, other than a burned out headlight. I put racing brakes and tires on it, and tinted the windows but otherwise stock. The only problems I have had with the car is, and this could just be me, but I don't see well out of it, like my spatial orientation is off with this car. I'm always parking it crooked ot nicking the bumper or something stupid. Tonight I backed up next to the neighbor's trash can, which they put too close to the back of the car, and I broke the passenger side mirror off- DAMN, and DOUBLE DAMN!! the body shop knows me well, sadly, but I like to keep the car looking new. I can't think of another car I would like to have right now, except maybe a Tesla because I spend a lot of money on gas.
Awesome video, Would be awesome if you could do one on the 6th gen (2004-2008) maxima, you can easily find the press release for them online, and the 6th gen is very underrated and has a lot of luxury features

Thanks for a great video. I have had my 2003 G35 sedan for about a year and a half. Unfortunately the car was in Indiana most of its life before coming to NC so there is rust on the bottom. Aside from some rust the car has been very reliable and I absolutely love how it drives. The motor is awesome but likes premium fuel😢
Own a 2009 G37 and have to say, I love the exhaust noice when aftermarket exhaust is added but I hated the cup holders, hated not having ventilated seats, hated the interior quality of important items, and the Infiniti community was actually more toxic than the Acura/Lexus communities. Really it was just the car my gf needed for work until we upgraded her to a RX350 now that she’s a teacher and needs the cargo. The mpg was pitiful too, the g37 was doing 13.4mpg average on premium.
Got a 2008 G35X sedan. It's a great car to drive. Can Can drive the piss out of it. Like stated it's not the best on gas (mostly the way it gets driven). I'll pay a little extra for the enjoyment of acceleration and handling. The styling in and out is still way more than acceptable in today's world. As a small dealer, I've owned tons of different cars and the 35's and 37's are solid. I say this because the transmissions are not CVT, but the regular old fashioned ones that can take the punishment
I use to own a 05 Infiniti G-35 Coupe. Until someone back into it and it was toll out by the insurance company. On December of 2023. It was a beautiful car with a hundred and twenty some thousands miles on it. I had no problems with Rust. I'm looking for a Q60 Couoe. I wish Infiniti would remake this model
As an owner of a g37 i have no complaints keep up w your oil changes bc they burn oil but if u on top of maintenance these VQs will run 300k plus i have no regrets of buying my g37 w 90k miles for 13k in this market it was great plus the owner is a dentist took really good care of it. Parked in the garage so the paint is like new he always had maintenance done at nissan or infiniti. I love my car i was almost going to trade it in for a Q50 but the g37 35 are cheaper to fix and cheaper mods. My car hasnt let me down she takes me wherever i need to go gas is not good or bad i cant complain and i mean nothing was made to not break so you're talking about a 10 plus year old car. I bought it from an old man bc ik he wasnt torturing the engine. B4 you buy a used infiniti look at the seller if its too good dont do it bc i promise they ran that engine 😤
Nice vid with good information. Love my '03 coupe. Owned it for 9 years and although being the third owner, it's still a sporty car to drive. Especially after adding a throttle controller which I highly recommend or get it tuned to breathe some life back into it. ✌

I've had my 04 for 15 years. I just hit 250,000 mi.. It burn oil and the Bose system sucks, but it's much easier/cheaper DIY maintenance than my A6/Allroad.
I’ve got 2005 coupe vq35 de I love the car haven’t owned for too long but haven’t had problem if your looking at one tho definitely check oil quality before purchase is a huge factor
I was a fan of the VQ 3.5 and the models G 35/ Nissan 350Z. I even owned an '05 Z Touring (Yellow) for a while. The significant exhaust note was profound, and still regarded by some JDM fans as one of the best of modern development. I couldn't deal with the lack of low end torque from the VQ; but that was just my heavy footed mentality overtaking the delight of driving said car. I see more G35's that are well beyond their prime; often "clapped out" by previous owners over the years. Sad to see, but that's the end-life for some. The "VQ" equipped coupes from both manufacturers were ahead of their time no doubt. It took on the 3 Series and C Class quite respectfully in its heyday; especially when they both offered a 6 speed manual transmission.
That’s awesome my friend thank you for sharing with us your ownership experiences! I def agree these cars did great against their competitors at the time
My mom bought an 04 G35x new. I still have it. Overall, it not a bad car but these cars were built when Renault was merging with Nissan. Renault's mission was to get Nissan profitable again by driving down costs and increasing market share. The result was all Nissan and Infiniti products suffered from build quality and just overall quality of the cars. I wouldn't recommend buying any v35 cars unless you just want to have fun with it or make it an engine swap candidate which is what I plan to do with mine.
03 coupe 81k was is my 1st midlife crisis car. now a back up car. found a rough idle a month ago. cylinder #6 flooded with oil. probably a seal is failing. wish i had test drove it on the freeway before purchasing. felt every pebble. otherwise still running well
You said everything in this vid info was on point. Only thing I can think is there were versions without sunroofs 2006-7 models had truck access from the outside on the rear light. Also the VDC was the upgraded ATTESSA system for the G35s. Bravo loved the vid subscribe!
I just bought a 2007 infiniti g35 sedan. Not the S, not the X, not the xs, just a regular one. Unfortunately I have to fix the catalytic converter and get the misfire to stop so I can get it inspected before I can drive it (my first car)
Hey guys I have a 07, 125k miles. When I brake, my car shakes. Just had the brakes and pads done recently (I just bought it), any ideas what it could be and what I expect to pay to fix it?
I had a 2003 6MT sedan. The fuel economy wasn't that bad. 23 combined, though 28 was achievable on the highway. The problem I had was the handling. The rear end would step out without warning, and the behavior was unpredictable. This made driving the car at the limit a big no-no for me. Also, the seats were a little narrow due to the placement of the seat controls. Finally, for tall drivers, left leg room was bad due to how much the door speaker protruded into the footwell. I chose this car over the Germans because it was far better value for the money and was, in many ways, a better car. However, I ended up getting rid of it after a couple of years because of the lack of comfort. I think the facelift was better, but I never wen't back to try it.
@@wodedagawd9328 So I read, but I had moved on by then. I couldn't trust any reviews on the car, and it's hard to push during a test drive. So I never went back.
It's just a weird coincidence, since I just commented on the RLX hybrid video yesterday, but I bought my wife the 2007 G35S new in November of that year. Baby blue. Automatic. It's been garaged, and we live in the south, so there is no rust. We have 128K miles on the car. The car did have a headlight go out, and thankfully, we had a long term warranty, so the $2700 head lamp was covered. My wife demanded that we buy the extended warranty...for $3300.. But the car has been bulletproof otherwise, mechanically. The Seat belt guide on the driver's side has broken, after the warranty ran out, and my wife refused to pay the exorbitant price the dealer wanted for the repair. The seat belt still works, though, if we feet the seat belt in, and it will lock in fast stops. The car still drives tight, with no squeaks or rattles, and corners great. The gas mileage is terrible, as adveritised, but the car is a joy to drive. The leather just wore through on the driver's seat. I take the blame for that, as that was lack of maintenance. That's it.. My wife LOVES the car, and she drives it aggressively. She tells me that there is no new car she likes as much, and I don't blame her. I am really glad that the 2007 had the G37 sedan shape, as it looks so much better. Would have never bought the earlier models. I feel this vehicle was a great value. I will say that the throttle is too touchy for me to drive the smoothly. But it's a blast to drive on curvy roads, and sits in the middle of the lane on the highway. I believe it still had hydraulic steering in 2007, and that just adds to the fun
I see these at the pick a part and cry a little bit, they have impressive looking suspension geometry like you mentioned, and really look like they were build for turns, I hear the all wheel drive is surprisingly good, being based on the nissian skylines I cant imagine it being bad, which should I buy when the opportunity arises? Best years? X or rwd?
loved my coupe! 6spd with brembo brakes. I have been noticing people are going for sedans, alot i have spoken to dont like the coupe. i dont understand edit* drifted it on the small skidpad at thunderhill raceway and it did really well for being stock everything besides 19" wheels i had on it. pretty effortless in 3rd gear could connect the entire layout. It burned a ton of oil 1qt every 75miles! got it trading a z32 5spd i got really cheap still sold the g35 making a small profit overall.
Coupes look wayyy better than the sedan. Whoever said they dont like the coupe is trippin😂 the sedans look like a grandpa car and the rear looks so ugly compared to the coupe

The difference between a 06 sedan and a 07 sedan are huge. Coming from an 08 Sedan owner. Lol
yup can completely agree with this
Definitely agree. The v36 sedan with the VQ35HR is an unsung hero, especially with the 6MT.
have you been able to find any aftermarket headlights for yours? i cant find any aftermarket parts for my 08 sedan
@@isabelpena7890 e bay
Yep I can agree cuz I am an 08 sedan owner as well unfortunately mine's an auto cuz where I live g35's were never sold in manual 😅
Back in 2009 I was in the market for a car, manual only so my options were limited. I looked at the G35 coupe and the 350Z. Zero manuals on the lots. Ended up going with an Altima, manual, and still drive it to this day. But I test drove the G35 and man was it fun.
Nice! Thanks for sharing
Altima coupes are dope, I’ve got one.
some would say I have an issue, I have 4 G35 coupes, 2003 in red, 2 04's pearl white and black and a 05 in process of redoing in 350z Blue, and a 08 G37S coupe, they are good cars and all to me have held up reasonably well over the years
Nice!
The g37 sedan and coupe are GORGEOUS 😍
I love the new format.
So many great discontinued cars out there.
Thanks and I agree my friend!
great video, most people don't realize how ground breaking those cars were. I have a 2002 6 speed maxima with a VQ35 and it's a great engine. I'm at 328,XXX miles.
Nice!
Wow! What have you done to keep it running that long? Anything special?
@@MojoHaiku check the oil once a week, these engines co sume oil. drain and fill radiator every year, antifreeze has a lubricant in it that keeps the water pump bearings lubricated. drain and fill the tranny once a year, 3 quarts. whenever i do the brakes I flush the old fluid out. I'm a mechanic so I'm able.to fix whatever is usually wrong. biggest issue these cars have is the clutch throw out bearing going bad. higher milage ones have worn out dual mass flywheel. I'm running a JWT aluminum flywheel with 350Z clutch and I have a Sentra SE-R Spec V LSD in my tranny... engine has all the bolt ons plus ECU reflash. last maximas still built in Japan.
I own both an 06 g35 sedan 6mt and a 12 g37 sedan 6mt and they are both amazing vehicles

Nice, how many miles on it?
Bout a used g35x 6 years ago. body perfect now have 390,000km no motor or transmission problems but front end bushings all needed replacing. Just love this car! Very comfortable and able to pass anything on the road. ❤
I still have my 2005 G35x in Lakeshore Slate with 145k miles. It still runs great.
Massive congrats!
Absolutely love my 2004 sedan. Common issues are the radio and cam shaft sensors. Other than that I've only had typical issues for an older car
Congrats!
Wow a balanced sedan! I fricken love my g35!
Little late but, I had 06 g35 coupe drove to 80k. I now have 2014 q50 non sport with hydraulic steering. Its good as it gets. I do miss g35 tho
Have an 07 G35s sedan 6MT 4WAS. bought in 2012 with 48k miles. sadly i crashed it in 2017, but am now in the process of rebuilding it. sweet car.
Three of my buddies had the G35 coupe lol, was such a popular ride back in the day.
Yea for sure it was certainly a hit
About it buy one from an old lady for 500 was her husband's but it's been parked since he passed and the crank sensor went out gonna turn it into a show car and keep it from sideshows or turn it into a vaydor either way it's definitely gonna be taken well care of
They certainly looked fantastic for their time, but they definitely are not of a timeless design language, it doesn't hold up to today's standards. The Q60 RS Coupe looks absolutely nuts, what a great looking car.
A simple and clean design is what makes these vehicles last
I prefer the older design.. All the new vehicles seem to have gone to an angular look. Too many sharp angles for my taste. Have a G35X, still looks fresh to my eye.
That original G35 coupe was always a beautiful car.
I def agree
I still own an ‘04 sedan with 230k miles. Daily drove this car for 17 years and still runs strong
I was able to find an 05 6mt sedan, I absolutely love it
I bought an 04 g35 to cut it to pieces and make a vaydor.
My 07 G35S has been Money. 206K miles and counting! I’m actually restoring it….
Nice!

03-06 was the best looks wise while the 2007 and 2008 years were the best years performance wise for the g35

Terrific, terrific video! Now please, a follow up on this vs the 04-08 TL. Side by side. Lol. I’ll still take the Acura! Lol.

These cars were made in Japan though.

Hey guys I have a 07, 125k miles. When I brake, my car shakes. Just had the brakes and pads done recently (I just bought it), any ideas what it could be and what I expect to pay to fix it?
Check your alignment or see if your tires are balanced. Those two can cause that
Currently upgrading my 05 sedan and guess, it will be looking more sportier lol, GOD bless Infiniti
Hey thanks so much for sharing your ownership experience with us Darrell this is very valuable information
Face lift is way better
Oh wow massive congrats on the purchase and thanks so much for sharing your experiences with us
I see these at the pick a part and cry a little bit, they have impressive looking suspension geometry like you mentioned, and really look like they were build for turns, I hear the all wheel drive is surprisingly good, being based on the nissian skylines I cant imagine it being bad, which should I buy when the opportunity arises? Best years? X or rwd?

loved my coupe! 6spd with brembo brakes. I have been noticing people are going for sedans, alot i have spoken to dont like the coupe. i dont understand
edit* drifted it on the small skidpad at thunderhill raceway and it did really well for being stock everything besides 19" wheels i had on it. pretty effortless in 3rd gear could connect the entire layout.
