Sadly, I agree with him. I thought this about the flag since, I first remember. The Hannunvaakuna turned a bit, looks beautiful. The bear would be a perfect national symbol 💪😉
Ahaa alright but bear should be our national vaakuna I know this 92 lion visit here on summer but bear lives in our country not lion. Bird is too weak, wolf 🐺 is not as strong as bear and bear🐻 is strongest and biggest our beast animal over all yeah🎉
Honestly the current finnish flag is just a copy of the swedish flag so i would say a better flag would be a white flag where there is a bear shooting lazer beams from its eyes but jokes asides i think the hannunvaakuna version you made would be pretty good and better than the current unoriginal one and i think a bear would be a better option for the coat of arms and the bear would be holding a ukkon vasara otherwise the other suggested weapon in the video would be fine too
I have also wondered why we should use the Roman method of execution as a symbol. What does it really symbolize? Jesus spoke about love, not symbolizing some evil empires cruel method of execution with the cross.
The cross isn't just a roman execution device bro it's a symbol of Christianity, and the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins. Finland was a very christian country, before secularism arose so prominently in the modern age. If we change our flag every time our country's attitudes to religion change we will be forever changing it. At least show some respect for Finland's christian past man, don't call it ffing stupid.
Christian Finnish Frostiis firstly the animal, bear trumps em all and lion can only be only found badly stuffed in Sweden (the funny lion :S) but seal is very good no objections from me. Lynx is quite mysterious that could be decent animal to put up too ! Frostiis is kinda rip off from Frosties the cereals so Tiger is a symbol for us, i do use CROSSHAIR symbol not a cross due to a Bill Hicks made joke " When Jesus returns, the last thing he wants to see is crosses. We might as well wear crosshairs" So i've made a Crosshair cross symbol on my Tube and with much red in the backround since i do not view the finnish government doing anything useful for the finnish people anymore so in desperation i try to revive the christians / christian king for Finland OFC i nominate myself. It's still even if tech brings us closer to atheism, i am former occultist turned to christian so i can vouch that you get in touch with Satan with paganism and you get in touch with Christian God with faith i am not much of a church goer but i have 1 Frostiis friend so i can call our guild Christian Finnish Frostiis. Do not count finnish christians gone yet, or that we all are "flower hat aunts" we're both men and serious about our faith
The current flag is perfect. If i would have to change something i would replace the nordic cross flag with an austria style flag Example: 🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦 ⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦 Or ⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ 🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦 ⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️
@Anttimation Look I think some of these ideas are cool and I agree the modern flag is too similar to Sweden and the lion really don't make sense I just don't think it should be something that modern Finns don't relate to anymore I mean almost every Finn nowdays is Christian or Atheist so some of these ideas are cool and maybe we can update our flag and vaakuna in the future I just think its not necessery.
@@Aapiskukko06 this is more playing with the idea of "what if we redesigned the symbols to something relevant to this channel" rather than a suggestion I'd start a petition for :)

Does it need to be consistent with Scandinavian nations though? Finland is not, apart from the very Northern part, part of Scandinavia although English speakers always mistake us for Scandinavians 😅
@@Anttimation
I'm aware Finns are different from Norwegian, Swedes and Danish in that they speak a non-Germanic, Indo-European language and the like. I'm referring to the fact that Finland is part the Northern European region.
I would much rather have a flag that represents us than a flag that represents our neighbors

The cross is fine, just flip it

Sadly, I agree with him. I thought this about the flag since, I first remember. The Hannunvaakuna turned a bit, looks beautiful. The bear would be a perfect national symbol 💪😉

Bear 🐻 should be in finnish vaakuna absolutely instead of the lion. Lion is not part of finland at all i wonder how we picked it up yeah
It first appeared on Gustav Vasas grave as far as I remember 🤔
Ahaa alright but bear should be our national vaakuna I know this 92 lion visit here on summer but bear lives in our country not lion. Bird is too weak, wolf 🐺 is not as strong as bear and bear🐻 is strongest and biggest our beast animal over all yeah🎉
Too cool.
Interesting
no
Honestly the current finnish flag is just a copy of the swedish flag so i would say a better flag would be a white flag where there is a bear shooting lazer beams from its eyes but jokes asides i think the hannunvaakuna version you made would be pretty good and better than the current unoriginal one and i think a bear would be a better option for the coat of arms and the bear would be holding a ukkon vasara otherwise the other suggested weapon in the video would be fine too
love the flag

I have also wondered why we should use the Roman method of execution as a symbol. What does it really symbolize? Jesus spoke about love, not symbolizing some evil empires cruel method of execution with the cross.
Yeah! I'd like to see a comedy where Jesus does return and then gets deeply offended by the symbol chosen by his cult, haha.
@@Markhoff it seems the tone of the video has somewhat escaped you. You did realise I suggest a Moomin and seal for national symbols?

Nah the cross stays, it makes the atheists and pagan larpers mad, so does having a national church
Well, we are "short" of a king still
@Anttimation had it for 2 months, can be done again
I agree 100% all pagan mythologies are corny and don't make any sense.

If i would have to change something i would replace the nordic cross flag with an austria style flag

And the looped square is Apple Command Key. If Finland suddenly changed the flag symbol to that, 300 million Americans would ask why the Finns took an image from Apple for their flag.

Mielestäni lippu on aivan hyvä, sillä siniristilippu kuvaa kuitenkin pohjoismaallisuutta, Suomen historiaa ja on kristinusko keskeisempi asia Suomessa tällä hetkellä, kuin muinaiset symbolit tai uskonnot

the Sami were the last Nordic people to convert to Christianity not the Finns
I looked at it through the lens of modern nation states there, it seems.
Saamis are not Finns. The last Finnish to convert were the Savonians. Some Savonian pagan culture survived until the early 1900's.
It's always annoyed me that so many European nations have lions as national symbols when no lions ever roamed their lands.
Actually has. There were modern lions still in the end of Iron Age in Europe.
In the Neolithic Stone Age and Bronze Age lion was a common animal in South-Eastern Europe.
@@Aurinkohirvi true but that's going back waaaaaaaaaaaay before said nations existed so by that logic you could have a dinosaur as your national animal 😂
