I'm a new 40K player and chose blood angels for my first army based on the lore and their aesthetic. Someone at my local store recommended your channel and I love it. Thanks for your work here.
I love this kind of content, thank you! Video suggestion: Could we have a masterclass on "how to move jump packs units (e.g. death company) on the board safely and with maximum efficiency". Thanks!!
From my point of view I do prefer judiciar + 5 assault intercessors, as the judiciar has devastating wounds and the AI give him the rerolls to go for them, it is only 145pts which is super annoying to deal with for its cost and compared if you compare them to the bladeguard, you can have 2 squads of Jud+5AI for 290 pts vs 250 for the Jud+ BG so I do prefer them ! But anyways, awesome job, keep up the good work !
I run maphiston assault intersessor combo. Also, please note that his sword becomes strength 11 on the charge, which with red rampage allows us to wound T 10 vehicles on 2's. Plus full rerolls makes him a general problem for vehicles. I have grenade + maphiston squad slaughtered vehicles like I was back in 9th ed
Loving your videos, Love the Blood Angels my first ever army back in 2nd Ed, restarting them up now.... might have to include a couple of these characters just for laughs
Definitely a good take! I tried bladeguard with the Judiciar once and maybe didn't give them enough of a chance, until recently I've had them running in a Land Raider redeemer with e Lieutenant and an Ancient but I've just decided to amend the list scrapping the bladeguard, enhancements and an odd apothecary in order to run 2x 5 man squads of assault intercessors both with their own captains! :D I am also running a Librarian in Phobos armour with infiltrators in order to deny deep strike! This has also left enough points in the list for 2x Scout squads, sanguinor and a callidus assassin! So I'm looking forward to seeing how the list plays! :D
Nice video. You’re playing them got me really interested in the high potential for counter play with fights first units also. Heroic intervention and FF gives an amazing chance to curb some incoming damage for a unit and it procs the detachment rule. There may be some high end play around baiting or screening where you could potentially keep your bait/screen alive with FF. Man…..if SoS had a 1CP strat for advance and charge……well that might be too much…..
Good video. atm im being greedy and using the sanguinor and the BGV's and the judiciar. I like the versatility it gives me and at worst the sanguinor rapid ingress and takes out a chaff unit that is scoring points. Just the right amount of annoying.
Comments for the comment god! Likes for the RUclips algorithm! I started running judiciar with my Bladeguard in Gladius, not as good as SOS but still great
Had a close game against World Eaters, where my Judiciar and 6 Bladeguard got charged turn 1 by Angron. Judiciar had the archangels shard for Anti chaos 5+ and after some really lucky hit/wound rolls, the squad sent Angron back to Korne... until he came back turn 2. Judiciar and BG vets are a staple in my army list now.
Love the video however there is a major issue I'm seeing. Plague Marines are going to shoot about half of your intercessors/BGV off the table before they even think about charging. Unless they are charging from behind cover...
Heya John! I've got an army list for your show if you don't mind checking it out: * Ass Ints are led by the Sang Priest * 2 Jump Ass Ints are led by Jump Sang Priests * Van Vets are led by Jump Captain and Jump Sang Priest * Death Company are led by Lemartes Pretty simple list, just charge at the enemies! Scouts to infiltrate and block enemy scout moves, infiltrators to hold home obj and prevent deep strikes, rest is self-explanatory. Very spammy and a little silly maybe, but the sheer volume of Str6 Ap2 chainswords will put out tons of damage, and this many bodies can be hard to deal with Fuck it, we Baal (2000 Points) Space Marines Blood Angels Sons of Sanguinius Strike Force (2000 Points) CHARACTERS Captain with Jump Pack (105 Points) • Relic Shield/Thunder hammer • Enhancements: Artisan of War Lemartes (110 Points) Sanguinary Priest (80 Points) Sanguinary Priest with Jump Pack (90 Points) Sanguinary Priest with Jump Pack (90 Points) Sanguinary Priest with Jump Pack (90 Points) The Sanguinor (140 Points) BATTLELINE Assault Intercessor Squad (150 Points) • 1x Plasma pistol/Power fist • 9x Astartes chainsword/Heavy bolt pistol OTHER DATASHEETS Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (170 Points) • 1x Plasma pistol/Power fist • 7x Astartes chainsword/Heavy bolt pistol • 2x Astartes chainsword/Plasma pistol Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (170 Points) • 1x Plasma pistol/Power fist • 7x Astartes chainsword/Heavy bolt pistol • 2x Astartes chainsword/Plasma pistol Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (170 Points) • 1x Plasma pistol/Power fist • 7x Astartes chainsword/Heavy bolt pistol • 2x Astartes chainsword/Plasma pistol Death Company Marines with Jump Packs (260 Points) • 10x Inferno pistol/Power fist Infiltrator Squad (100 Points) Scout Squad (65 Points) • 1x Astartes chainsword/Bolt pistol/Close combat weapon • 2x Astartes shotgun/Bolt pistol/Close combat weapon • 1x Missile launcher/Bolt pistol/Close combat weapon • 1x Scout sniper rifle/Bolt pistol/Close combat weapon Vanguard Veteran Squad with Jump Packs (210 Points) • 10x Storm Shield/Vanguard Veteran weapon
I got my first win against Grey Knights yesterday with my amended list and it felt pretty smooth going, I'd like to know where I am able to share the list!
@@ba_commander I certainly will. By the Blood we are made. Great video as usual. Have you done a video on DC /w jumppack comparing TH to PF on the charge in SoS detachment?
I like the flexibility of using the librarian dread to teleport units like this around the board. Cheaper than a land raider as well. I’m curious why we don’t see you use him anymore?
To be honest I see mephiston in the new codex to be something like 250-300 points as he needs to fit is lore and needs a complete rule rewrite as ATM it doesn't reflect the new stuff
I find the best way to fight first is to be the one landing the charges...... Then if they counter charge, let them swing back because they arent going to kill enough Marines to stop me. Then either use strat for fallback and charge, or counter-charge their counter-charge. It's hard to kill Marines fast enough to do some DMG when 54 of them are coming at you at 12" per turn.
I feel that your comparison on damage output is not fair. The Sanguinor comes in to support a unit after a charge. He will be supported by their attacks aswell. And I feel that his role is more niche then the other two. They lack his flexibility, and the sheer fact of having him as a threat off table that can turn the tables on a charge could change how your opponent approaches your army.
@@ba_commander oh just the part where you mentioned the flannel was same colors as your favorite team. Thought it was more orange and black but I was wrong! Hope y'all can win the league this year up the gunners

Since the improved BA rule I have been having good results with meph and assault ints since there point drop 👍
Judiciar never leaves my list
Love all 3 of these characters

I have been fielding both the Mephiston/assault intercessors and the judicar/blade guard in my list.
I think it could be interesting to redo the math of the BGV + Judiciar combo in Angelic Inheritors with reroll hit and wound of 1 😅
Very useful as ever! :-)
Blade guard are awesome models and cool rules.
While I only proxy him (fear of the model being replaced) I love the sanguinor he is ungodly he’s actually a really fun threat to have

Yeah I've ben running Mephiston and the assault intercessors in a repulsor for a while now. I did try the priest but it lacked the punch of Mephiston.
good breakdown thanks Jon!
My pleasure!
Nice video BAC. Would have been good to include the points per unit set up (Unit + Character) and damage per point in the tables too perhaps...
I didn't because they are vastly difference choices, but I will next time.
I always find this stuff fun to think about.
But im not changing my competition list until it loses.
Callidus the 4th option
Played Mephiston yesterday and he rolled a crit on his Transfixing Gaze against the Avatar of Kaine. Who was bracketed, so hitting on 4's.
Hot damn :)
Whenever I use the Sanginors ability the strat epic duel I think it's called is 90% used. I use him to just destroy the charging squads character.

Amazing! How many dev wounds did he do?
@@ba_commander The Judiciar rolled two 5's and a 6 to wound and those last 6 dev wounds were enough to finish him.

What about having Judiciar with blade guards and have sanguinor deep strike when they get charged. Then you just combine all of them together 😎
You can only choose 1 unit to fight first before your opponent gets to pick a unit to fight.
@@ba_commander Oh yeah good point haha. Personally I like to release my DC onto anything that gets close enough and let them do their thing 😁
For Judiciar leading 6 BGV in LAG, what's the best enhancement he can take?
Gift of Foresight imo for the guaranteed moral wounds on precision.
Whats the formula on calculating how many units you kill (and how do you incl. Dev Wounds in that calculation)?
I mean, I have all the formulas in the spreadsheet. It’s kind of hard to write down.
To be clear by counter charge, I don't mean the strat.
I mean when they charge your unit with a new unit.
Judiciar is decent with assault intercessors. Reroll wounds on objectives = fishing for dev wounds
Doesn't the sanguinor get the sons of sanguinius charge buffs when he comes in? I thought that was confirmed in the latest data patch
No he does not get them I'm afraid.
I feel that your comparison on damage output is not fair.

So how to use Sang?
I place it turn two after enemy charges
Then Sang attacks first right ?
Pretty much, you should watch my video on the fight phase!
