One blood angels specific character that I never leave home without. Is the Sanguinary priest. This model, whether it be on foot or with a jump pack gives so much survivability and lethality to the units that he can go into. It is stupid. Currently I'm running a priest with jump pack with a captain and a unit of 10 Vanguard veterans all equipped with storm shields. It does suck when I'm in sustain combats because I have no pistols outside of the characters, however having a four-up invulnerable safe along with a five up. Feel no pain is such an annoyance to my opponent. And I can't tell you how many times my opponents have focused fired. Trying to kill down this one unit because of how annoyingly hard they are to kill that. It has left the rest of my army free about to do whatever it is that they need to do. I also personally think the sanctuary priest is also most effective inside a unit of stern guard veterans, but I think this is really just my personal belief because I really like the stern guard veterans models and I really like them as a utility shooting unit because they do have assaults and if they ever make combats, they're not going to be horrible with their close combat weapons because on the charge they're going to have five attacks each at strength 6 and AP- 1.
My list is jump intercessors, dc with jump packs, van vets with shields, infiltrators, and 2 gladiators (one lancer and one reaper) then 2 chaplains 2 sang priests, and a Capt, all with jump packs. Its like 59 jump packs, 5 guys for deep strike denial, and two tanks. My list has 29 wins and zero losses
hello, I was starting bloody angels right now after many years disconnected from the hobby, I am a competitive player and the problem I see with the company of death is that looking at what gw has done with other boxes... it gives me that this 10 fist option is going to end soon, because they are only making what comes in the box count, not to mention that they can become primaris I find it difficult to make lists without them or including only 10... for fear of buying things that will soon be useless.

Run one lancer and one reaper, the reaper gets enough shots that ive managed to take 2 wounds off of a ctan before i fired the onslaughts. Sure, that was lucky, but still. Plus, blood angels melee is good enough to handle high toughness things fairly easy. In the end, its nice when my gladiators kill things, but i really need them to be my enemies focus until i move my jump troops.
Another BA player, Chris Chance, also did well in a recent tournament with a Repear, but he even ran a Techmarine to combo with it for the +1 to hit to increase Dev Wound chance rolls... You reckon that is worth the additional 55 points (he also repairs, can do actions and fight I suppose)?
What is your opinion on the death company and redemptor dreadnoughts? I found them to work very well for me in the past, and have used the redemptor over the ballistus due to it's capability in both melee (making use of red thirst) and ranged, as well as the -1D making it very durable. I think I should dust off my Baal predator! Excellent video, subscribed :)
Basing making such a difference with those guys. Just hanging there on a flight stand, they look terrible, but interacting with some scenery? Way better
I think that the librarian Dreadnought with wings of sanguinius is often better as an opportunistic ability rather than one that you Center the list around. My favorite use for The Librarian Is as a psychic / mortal wound buff wound protection for a bunch of vehicles, and then he is really good at warping objective controlling intercessors out to an objective that you just took the turn before.
How do you feel about the Death Company Dreadnought? I was thinking either running him as a "distraction carnifex" or 2x5 Jump Assault as chaff and cheap secondary grabbers.
I subscribed a long time ago. Even though our strategies are completely different, i like to hear your takes on it. That said, i think the game is pretty balanced right now. It seems as long as you build your list to fit your tactics, then you can practice and get good. I do believe that necrons need some nerfs, and some armies are a bit weak, but its getting closer.
Blade guard with a captain and red rampage will kill several death guard terminators, and enough will survive the swing back that you should wipe the squad by fallback& charge+ red rampage.
A unit that I am finding that I am loving more and more. Every time I use it is a blade guard lieutenant character that's based Marines can field the fact that he gives the blade guard veterans the ability to fall back shoot and redeclare a charge while also having lethal hits is such a huge buff to the blade guard. And then by proxy, obviously the blade guard veterans are always going to have a little warm fuzzy place in my heart. I personally always have them inside a landrader. That way they are perfectly protected from the elements and when they need to they can come out and strike. Their. Only downfall that I have noticed is whenever I take mortal wounds there's literally nothing they can do. Otherwise, them having a foreign and three wounds with the ability to reroll a fail wound role of one and combat. Are they the greatest unit? No. But they are definitely a unit that I will never leave home without.
That's what I would like to know. Space for 14 Infantry vs 12 and 12 Movement vs 10. In return the normal Landraider is cheaper and gives you 2 juicy Godhammer Lascannons. Is the Redeemer really so much better?
I honestly think you're sleeping on the basic Assault Intercessors. For only 150 pts you get at least 49 attacks with reroll hits (Oath) and, more importantly, reroll 1s/all wound rolls. The kicker is that you can add a Captain for a free Lance and Lethal Hits, and add a Priest for +1 AP and 5+ FNP. They hit like a Train out of a Land Raider and can surprisingly survive a lot with the priest and a free AoC.
