Worth mentioning: In some (rare) trims, T4 syncro have a differential lock in the rear. It can be engaged manually. Those would pass every Test.

T6 also has a diff lock as an option. It should also pass tha last test.
Is it possible to retrofit manual rear diff lock to a version without?
Not easy. You have to swap the whole rear diff

Uwaga nie jestem specjalista,ale testowalem T4 syncro na rolkach i troche w lekkim terenie. Nauczylem sie prostego tricku,czasami trzeba troszke podciagnac reczny i zjedzie bez problemu z 3 rolek lub wyczolga sie z piachu czy lekkiego blota. Fajny material video,pozdrawiam!
Celem testu jest sprawdzenie samochodu, bez używania tricków 🙂

Bardzo fajne testy robicie. Sam smigam starym pajero z SS z tylna blokada. I zamiast tlumaczyc pokazalem znajomemu jeden z waszych testow. Teraz juz wie ze 4matic to nie terenowka :) Pozdrawiam!

I have a volkswagen transporter t4 4x4 with diff lock and i have tested it how it works with not using the diff and using the diff. The last test it should pass easy if you have 1500 rpm on the engine, it works best if you have high rpm.

Does anyone knows if its possible to convert the front diff to lock? I have see a company in chez republic who can convert.

Na T4 zatiahnuť trochu mechanickú ručnú brzdu, zafunguje to trochu ako uzávierka diferenciálu 😊
We tried in a few times in other cars, it didn't help.

This gives the impression that the traction control is not functional on the rear wheels. This is particularly true on the T4. On the other hand, the fact that the traction control is not active below 1500 rpm was quite common at one time, especially with mechanical gearboxes so as not to stifle the engine.
I guess it has no traction control in the rear because the rear brakes are drum brakes. As far as I know those are not suitable for electronic brake engaging.

@@b.s.7693 It's not a problem with the rear brakes. There are cars with traction control working on the wheels with drum brakes like the Freelander I or Duster (and first Grand Vitara II, if my memory is good). On the other hand, there are cars with 4 disc brakes and traction control that only works on one axle, like the Scenic RX4 or the Kangoo 4x4 (on the front), or the latest Range Rover Classic or the first Range Rover P38 (on the rear). It's just a manufacturer's choice.

That's what diff lock is for 🙂 We tested such version, you can find the video on our channel.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers gdyby była ręczna blokada tyłu to zapewne w próbie 2:00 ruszył. Blokada tyłu była w opcji.

За 17 лет разницы между этими авто, система полного привода не изменилась и явно не стала лучше. Чем инженеры и конструкторы занимались 17 лет - непонятно..?
Усложнили систему электронно для более дорого обслуживания))

Es wird der Eindruck erweckt der T4 wäre prinzipiell schlechter als der T5. Das ist aber nicht richtig. Den T4 gibt es in allen Syncro Varianten mit Sperre. Dann gibt es keine Konstellation in der er keinen Vortrieb generiert.

Vacummpump gets broken in short periode of time.this noise gets louder and louder...
