- Vic Widman of Great Divide Tours, Australia’s leading 4WD Driver Training instructor and Tag-Along Tour Operator checks out the latest VW 4motion T6.1 at the Trakka Australia driver training event that we attended.
Ha, Vic wouldn't let me up there 😉 maybe now he's tasted it for himself! Another great demo of what these vans can do - cameras flatten out steep hills so much.
Yup. He is converted and we almost had him placing an order. He told me that in his opinion, the hill descent in the t6.1 is the best of any vehicle he has driven. That’s a big call and one I am so happy to hear. Go the VW 4motions. Loving it more with every day that passes. Stay safe mate. Catchya soon no doubt.
great review I've just ordered my new Highline Multivan including diff lock and hill descent...it was good to see them in action!
Good stuff mate. You will love it. We were blown away by the capabilities of the 4motions. Have fun. Cheers. Alex.
You'll be amazed where it'll get you.
@@davidr7236 thanks David. You are not wrong. We intend to scour this country and explore every nook and cranny and demonstrate exactly where we can and can’t go and share it far and wide. So far we have explored outback QLD, outback NSW, beaches, mountains and all without missing a beat and in total comfort. Loving this van life and loving the Kombi lifestyle. Thanks for the comment. Have a good one.
@fred bloggs hey Fred. Thanks for subscribing. Really appreciate it. Ok. So you can get after market suspension through kombi life Australia who resell for Seikel. Check out this link kombilife.com.au/products/seikel-suspension-vw-t6-t30-4m-desert-lift-kit-offroad-suspension?_pos=9&_sid=7f4de85ab&_ss=r
These guys also have a host of gear to make your t6.1 a super cool camper.
Get back to u on the after market rear diff lock. Cheers. Alex.
Fred. I am told there are no suppliers who instal after market rear diff locks for the van in Australia. Cheers. Alex.
I received my off-road certificate through the LC Club of Queensland a few years ago when we had the 200ser and they ensured that all of us were competent in descending without using hill-descent. That said, after that I almost always used it 😉
Good stuff Steve. The LC club provide great training and their advice is really good. With all these modern driving aids it’s always good to know the basics just in case things don’t work and also to ensure you drive to the conditions. Happy travels and perhaps one day you can show Olga and I how to surf 🏄♀️. Cheers. Alex.
@@4motionadventures934 Mate I'd love to.
@@SteveWebster376 cool bananas. Catchya sometime around the place.
Hi Mates! Nice comparisons! Is this van maual? Does ist have any other gear ratio to the original t6.1? Does it have a seikel torque and trail or the middle one the short axle ratio?
Markus. The van is auto and it’s actually the current t6.1. Not sure about the Seikel torque and trail question you asked. If you can give us more info on what you are wanting to know we will try and find out the answer. Cheers. Alex.
Thanks Alex.
You answer me the question! 🙌 its auto. I have a manual T6. For the manual there is a short axle ratio aviable. So you have more torque and can go slower...
cheers markus
Hello. Was wondering if the base vehicle (before camper conversion) is a transporter or a multi van? Also wondering what the off-road performance is like between the LWB and SWB? Thank you.
Hello Mike. It’s a transporter 4motion. I would say the swb traditionally is better off road only due to the better ramp over angle. Hope this helps.
@@4motionadventures934👍 thank you. Looking at ordering a Transporter and can’t decide between LWB or SWB.
@@GangaWarrior mike. I guess you have to decide what you intend to do with it and how much gear you are going to carry and or whether you want to sleep in it. Check out kombi life Australia rockton with all the camping gear on it and the front runner accessories. Looks awesome. Speak with mark there. He will soon excite you if
You ain’t already. Cheers. Alex
"Really impressive...". Well... hold my beer, while I'm warming my T3 Syncro. 😁
Thanks mate. Just started following u on Insta. Love your van. Have a good one. Cheers. Alex.
@@4motionadventures934 Cheers ! Be well and have fun out there ! ✌️
I'd get my VW Caddy up that hill, easy
Might as well ditch making the amroc rubbish, with could fit 4wd to my t5.1
