- We get bogged to the armpits crossing a creek. The creek was on private property and used as part of our 4motion driver training courses but we did not plan on getting stuck that’s for sure so we capitalised on the situation to share “for the love of travel”. Check out the 4motion action as we try and get unstuck and of course you should avoid this situation at all costs and always take the safest and easiest route where possible.
I think that's the first time I've seen one properly bogged, thanks Alex! Gives me some more confidence for the main mud hole I'm expecting on Twelve Mile Road.
Thanks David. Hahaha. Oh please do share the adventure to twelve mile road. Hopefully
You won’t ever get stuck but if you do knowing you, I am certain you have the skill set to get I stuck. Have fun out there and stay safe. Cheers. Alex.
“For the love of a mud bath” 😉
The things we do, to share some knowledge... love ya work, keep ‘em coming. 😀
Happy Easter to you both.
Cheers 🍻
Hahah. Thanks Kurt. Let me tell you it was not planned that’s for sure. We always like to take the easy way but.... I guess it worked out the end as we were
To share a little info. Of course Olga was filming so she could not help me!!!!!!! 😜. Have a great Easter.
Mega cool video!
Play on and enjoy the VW Bus!
Thanks Calicap.
Got a real Russell Quoit vibe going there.
That looked like yuk thick clay.
Another great video 👍
Thanks Stephen. It certainly was. So glad we got stuck to share. Keep a look out for another two
Vids coming this week and next
On various tips and tricks before we head back out for some travel vids. Stay safe and thanks again for your support. It is very much appreciated. Cheers. Alex.
Manufacturer states 300mm wading depth , 2” lift takes it to 354mm , not 500mm !
Thanks Rossocooo. Appreciate the info. Add the extra tyre size of 225 / 65 / 17 and we we
Get close but we are sticking to crossing closer to 300mm to be safe. Again thanks for the info. Always learning and happy to be corrected. Cheers. Alex.
awesome
Thanks Icon. Appreciate your support.
Great video, you mentioned you disabled the traction control but did you try engaging the diff lock? Curious as I’m learning off road skills (attempting to) for when we finally get to take our Caravelle 4MOTION out in the country side here in the UK 😊
Hey Nick. Thanks for your comment. Appreciate it. When I was driving through the crossing I switched off the traction control and did not have the rear diff lock engaged. The rationale is when driving in loose surfaces like sand, mud etc in my experience is better to have them both off. I generally use the rear diff lock for when I am tackling difficult terrain, refer previous vid, and or going up steep hills as all the weight is transferred to the rear axle which is where we want the traction. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions and please share some
Of your adventures in the UK 🇬🇧. Cheers. Alex.
@@4motionadventures934 understood, thanks for your help 😊

G'day,
Whats that accessory rail on the side of the van ? have a link at all? Cheers :)
Hey Pat. Probs easier if you check out our clip on the accessory. It’s a max trax and shovel holder. ruclips.net/video/aPOxYoMSxhU/видео.html. Let me know if you need any more info. Cheers. Alex.
@@4motionadventures934 Ripper, Cheers mate
Really cool sahara bar!!! From which manufacturer is the bar???
Thanks mate. Bar is from Queensland bull bars. Cheers. Alex.
@@4motionadventures934 thanks!! Really really cool
Would have been so much better to try reverse after seeing that you can't go forward instead of spinning the wheels in one place which made the situation worse.
Thanks Georgi
Probably right mate. Have fun out there. Cheers Alex
@@4motionadventures934 Thanks Alex, you too!
It's great you plug trakadoo but realistically how much water do you have on board to do this then service your ongoing travelling needs
Hey kossie. Thanks for your message and very good question. We have 50 itres on board but we don’t use it for drinking. We use it for washing up and showering if needed. Having had on board water tanks in 4wds I just don’t take the chance with bugs contaminating the water. So, depending on where we are travelling too, we generally carry 2 X 10 litre water containers and 24 bottles of fresh water as a minimum. Bit overkill but water is life so just in case we are covered. Also. The amount of water we carry depends on where we are travelling, time of year, how remote and for how long. Hope this helps. Cheers. Alex.
Good response. Something travellers need to jead
@@kossie7809 cheers mate. Great to get feedback and questions because it does promote a healthy discussion and possibly provide information to help travel safe. Have a great weekend. Cheers. Alex.
...Nicole would send me to the Vet if i did this to her 4Motion! (better you than me, Alex).
Hahaha. Yup. I hear ya Simon. I am still hearing it from Olga too!!!!
It would have been much easier with BF Goodrich K02 Tyres. Yours seem to have low profile…
Thanks Markus. Our tires are kuhmo at51’s which meet both the speed and load rating for our van. I actually would love to test the bfs as they are after all a true
AT tire but the speed rating is only S and we need a speed rating of T. If you can give me more info on whether the bfs are legal we are all in. Many thanks. Alex.
I might add that the kumhos have been outstanding so far. A few other people we know have travelled all around Australia with no issues and that’s going onto some very rough tracks etc. but still keen to learn from others as we are new to vanlife having come from land cruisers ie our 76 Cheers.
super ont voit bien la nécessité d'avoir 4 et non que 2 des plaques Max
Thanks Thierry. The more the better we say.
Why didn t you clean the Maxtrax in the lake?
Good question. I normally clean the maxtrax in the water source. On this occasion I did not want to get more mud on my clothes plus we weee on our private property
Where we run out driver training courses so we had plenty of water back at base so there was no risk in running out of water. Good question all the same. Thanks for watching. Have a good one. Cheers. Alex.
I understand, thank you Sir!
@@mickbrisgau8100 no probs. Have a good one.
How about the crocks 😁
This is awesome! I am selling mine if you know anyone who wants one
Thanks Billythekid. I am sure you won’t have too much trouble selling it. They are selling like hot cakes. Safe travels. Cheers. Alex.
@@4motionadventures934 Funny you say that I have had some tyre kickers but no serious offers in the two weeks it’s been up. If you know anyone it’s on FB Marketplace and gumtree or can contact me here 😬. Thank you for these awesome vids 🤗
@@MrKelso85 will do.
u wasted precious water to wash that stuffs while u are in front of a river :-D
Agreed and yes under normal circumstances I would use the nearest water source to clean the maxtrax. On this occasion I was lucky to be on a private property where I knew I had water a few ks away. Thanks for the comment. It’s important to preserve water when out bush for sure. Have a good one. Cheers. Alex.
