  • The Brakeware indicator light started coming on intermittently and then stayed on in my 2012 VW Touareg TDI. I investigated the problem and ended up replacing the brake pads and the wear sensors. Overall it is a very easy job that can be done in a driveway with simple tools. This should eb similar for a Porsche Cayenne or an Audi Q&. Thanks for watching!

Bit of Copper grease on the contact points between the alloy wheel and the drive flange will save you from having to hoof the rim with your sneaker and scuffing the shite and briny Silver finish

Casually watching this video i want Just letting you know, the 2 bleeders you used to let the fluid out while you were retracting the pistons are not intended to be used that way…
This way a lot of air has entered the brake line making very dangerous driving.
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE go to a shop and ask them to bleed the braking lines, you’re life and other’s is on the line.
    The correct procedure is
1- remove cap from brake liquid reservoir
    2- retract pistons
    3- remove old pads
    4- install new pads
    5- bleed brake line

I have been doing it this way for over 25 years and have never had a problem. If there is air in a brake system it becomes evident immediately. If this had happened I would have pressure bled the brakes.

Also there's just no need to risk winding out the bleed screw, the pistons push back in really easy even with the cap left on, bearing in mind the cap itself is not air tight.

Do you change the rotors every second pad change? I have noticed a distinct lip on the rotor edge when my pads needed changing.

I typically do that, the rotors are normally done by then in my opinion. I have only replaced the pads once on this one so far.

Been searching for too long where to put the floor jack to put the Touareg on jacks. Are you sure those front rods are safe to use?

That is what I have always used. It holds the car up with the control arms so I figured it should be OK.

They work fine. The dust is terrible though. The next set will be OE or Brembo brand.

Given I have to do the same, I found that rather riveting
