"Laia Ladaia" itself also appeared as the opening music for WJW/WJKW-TV Cleveland's "Late Night Movie" (the type whose open was enough to give some sensitive people seizures).
Though I’ve upgraded my TV a lot over the years, I miss the days of the CRT. I was born in 84 and my family bought a Sony 25” trinitron soon after and it ran for almost 20 years without issue, and in between we bought a large screen 32” Sony Trinitron in 95. The latter was still being used by my Grandma until 2010. 4K and full HD is still great though, but old stuff looks better on CRT.

No television at all on BBC One or BBC Two from December 21st until December 23rd, when the unions agreed a pay increase. TV resumed on the BBC on December 23rd. Nearly ruining Christmas for millions.

Was it common to play the national anthem with the station closure for the night? IE did other stations do it too or just an ABC thing?
