Expenses often fill the amount of money available. If you buy a fractional you have gold. If you save for a full Oz, your expenses will smell the money and break something. They can't smell gold.
It's cheaper to purchase a one ounce gold coin the downside is if you're on a budget it could take a while to get enough money to purchase one and you could either get lucky and not pay as much or not lucky and pay more depending on what gold price does
Yup, for sure. The larger the coin, the better the value. That's why I advise caution with the smaller increments. But, for some...just having some gold is better than a) Waiting. b) Having none at all. Everyone looks at it differently, I suppose.
Also a new stacker from Australia love the content mate. I love the fractional gold. Sitting at 68oz of silver and 0.95oz of gold and loving the journey 🤙🤙🤙
Congrats on 50 video accomplishment! Your channel has solid value and you enjoy it. Yes fractional is worth the investment. Classic Arcades are the best. Stack comfortably, consistently and have fun.
Thanks for the kind words! Yup, I LOVE my classic video games. I walk into my barcade, and it’s like going back to the 80’s, with all the sounds and lights. Seems like a lifetime ago, now…😳
I might be in the minority but I’d rather over pay for 10 1/10 gold coins then get a traditional oz coin . The price difference would be 500-600 overpaid depending on the 1/10 you get but I have the freedom of variety and can get a mixture of things . Many would slam a decision like that saying with that 500-600 you overpaid you could acquire more gold along with oz you acquired and I get that but in the long run a choice like mine will have much success.
It all depends on what price you're able to purchase both, I would imagine. Sometimes, our LCS's are able to give us a better deal than online dealers. Gold is the way, right now! You made a good choice.
I only collect fractional gold. I prefer 1/4 sovereign coins over 1/10 ounces but I have both. I can't see paying $2000 at one time for an ounce of gold. Yes, I know the premiums are higher but it fits my budget and my projected SHTF needs. I am not stacking for the short term. I am confident I will get my money back. I hope the US Mint sells fractional Buffaloes again. I prefer 9999 gold to 22 Carat gold. Semper Fi, brother! We are everywhere!
Oorah, Devil Dog! 1/4 is the sweet spot, for sure. I do like my 1/10’s sometimes, though. The only ounces I own are Britannias. Just can’t bring myself around to paying that Eagle premium!
@@thealize808 I use the term SHTF more broadly than others do, perhaps. In my case, it means any crisis situation that may occur such as job loss, a serious health problem, an economic recession/depression, and other contingencies. However, Zombie outbreaks are pretty low on the list. lol
My fractional silver is Mercury dimes and Rosies. Started stacking 1/10 gold. Counting on gold to take off someday so I’m not worried about premiums. They’ve gone down a bit so I’m trying to buy the dip. Love the Britannia’s!!! So pretty.
At 1800.00 or so an ounce 1/2 Ounce pieces have the best premium/value cost. I,am a Numismatist and worked back in the 80,s and 90,s for a VERY large precious metals outfit.
Congrats on the 50 vids. It’s certainly an accomplishment when you put time, effort, and work into the videos. I always enjoy your vids because it shows that it’s a labor of love. Love the Whitman holds for the gold, I have those, but decided to use the airtite instead. Looking at yours…I might switch back.. The collection of 1/10 is great. That classic Krug is super nice and dude that 1/10 generic is cool, and yes gold is gold. I totally agree, 1/10 is a good way to go.
I love fractional gold. the 1/10th is the lowest I will go, the premiums are too much for me to continuously by gram bars when 1/10ths are just a little bit more. great video.
I have about 50oz of silver per oz of gold, that way if i need to cash in a small amount I will use silver and big amount will be the full OZ of Gold, seems best of both worlds to me
I love fractional gold! I can buy more variety over a long period of time. Yes it’s small gold but over the long haul who cares. Stack that fractional gold!
1/10 are too pricey but they are very popular and you get back some of the premium. My approach to PMs is that of a dreamer, I am wishful thinking of the day we revert back to using silver and gold as our money. In which case fractional is very useful. I too really like the Britannia. Beautiful coin with good security feature. I also like the Somalia elephant. Take care all you metalheads
Always nice to welcome another Britannia fan! I'm admittedly wary of us turning to gold and silver as primary sources of money. If that actually happens, that means the dollar has crashed...and that wouldn't be good news for us as a country. Now, BACKING our dollar with gold and silver...that'd give us an intrinsic value that we don't have now! Unfortunately...that ship passed long ago, and the Fed's printers are printing currency like it's going out of style, at this point. It's a wait and see approach...and we need to keep stacking PM's, PERIOD. Thanks for checking in!
I think it’s a great value for a few reasons. #1 More coins make my stack look good. Dumb reason? #2. I can afford to pick up more pieces quickly. See reason #1🤪. #3 my LCS will give me some of the premium back, being coins. #4. I love the variety. ☠️💀☠️. I do have a few 1oz coins tho. My main stack is US MINT so I get .9999 fine for my 1/10 pickups. Recently ordered a 2022 Perth Roo for under $500.
You said it best, stay within your means. Fracttionals, I am a fan of, specially gold. I did sell a couple of fractional silver that is quite difficult to find now, and it was profitable for me. I just might sell much more if silver goes ip significantly.
Glad you made out on the fractional silver. Seems like quite a few are avoiding it. That being said, I do keep some on hand to use as giveaways and as throw-ins for sticker trades.
Semantics, I suppose. Most use the one ounce as a standard, because you’ve gotta have some pretty good $$$ to buy a gold kilo bar. The ounce is the more common factor.
I picked up some 1/10 eagles for $208.00 each from SD Bullion. I would never , ever sell a 1/10 for spot or under, if a dealer is going to get my 1/10 gold he’s going to pay the premium.
You got a good price. I was at a dealer today at our fairgrounds, and she wanted THREE HUNDRED for 1/10 Eagles! I just laughed, and she was like “what?” I told her that was way too high. When she asked what I’d pay, and I told her $230, tops. The convo pretty much ended right there. 🤣 1/10 gold can even be bought off eBay from certified dealers all day at around $235. JM and APMEX are around $275, but…they’re typically always high as well.
@@skytrooper506 - Saw those! There was also a verified seller on eBay with 1/10 gold 'Roos for just $216 as well. Love that Aussie gold...quality stuff. I want to get a full 1oz 'Roo at some point.
@@skytrooper506 - I think we’re living in parallel worlds…I’ve been looking at a bunch of safes the last couple of weeks. Gotta spend money for a good one, unfortunately.
I really like the Britannia over the Eagle. Especially the color and of course, the price!
Same! More security features, details and a cheaper premium!
I really like fractional gold. It adds up so quickly too.
It really does! Good to see ya!

Silver for gold? I thought about it…briefly. Then I decided against it. The GSR needs to be lower before I’ll consider it!

An interesting thing I've done is to have a quarter oz gold of each of the major sovereign silver bullions I stack then match with a tenth oz gold.
