I got one just after they came out in 2022, my first Martin actually. I love it, definitely dry and somewhat bright tone. Fantastic for fingerpicking as you can hear here in Nicks delightful playing.
I would use a pickup if you want to capture the guitar in a live setting or recording. It's possible to to put many diffenet pickups in this and Fishman pickups is one I could recommend.
I’m just dumbfounded at the price… these have to be from addys that didn’t make the ascetics for their expensive guitars. Such a deal none the less with amazing sound… 🎉🎉🎉 Martin.
Why are the opinions of this guitar so controversial across the forums? Some folks love and some say they do not like it at all, not just the look but the sound, especially compared to 000-15m. I tried both 000-15m and 000-16sm in store, and 000-15m sounded great, but I wished more overtones, 000-15m had to few, much more fundementals and little overtones. I just got pulled to 000-16sm as a magnet, even compared it to Taylors of American Dream series, 000-18 Martin, it did not do it to me. So I got the 000-16sm. But it still puzzles me why opinions about this guitars are kind of split into two camps - lovers and haters.

What’s the fingerpicking song in drop D that you played? Very nice review and playing!
Thanks for watching! The tune was an improvisation, the last few seconds are from Leo Kottke's "Little Beaver"
Thanks much appreciated!

Cheers, Drew! Will be worth the wait! Always happy to help.
According to the Martin web site the pins are ebony, not plastic. Is this not correct?
Will double check!
Hello! What is your opinion on putting an electronic (like Fishman) on this guitar? Is it possible?

Do you mind me asking did you find there was much variation in sound between the 3 models you got in the store?
Quality is identical, no difference in sound quality either. Very consistent!
Do these guitars feature an adjustable truss rod? Not listed in the specs.
Yes, has a adjustable trussrod
Do you ship to India ?
We can!

Incredible to get adirondack at this price on a Martin. I agree with your theory, great timber but maybe not visually perfect.

Did you say plastic pins, man? As I know, the pins are made of ebony.
Correct, made an error. Ebony pins!
