Can you add a caravan camera into the system?? Don't want to cover up the auto dimming rear view mirror with a clip on monitor.....looks like I will have to mount the reverse monitor seperately.... Very informative.....

G'day Webby, thanks for a very informative video. I've had my XLT for about 9 weeks so still learning about the Sync 4 system. I would really like to know how to turn down the volume for the phone ring tone without turning down the volume on the call. The only way I've been able to do this results in me having to turn up the volume when I've answered the call because I can't hear the caller. Hope this makes sense.
@KLEINY666 Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad the video was useful for you. I've had a look in the settings and I can't see anywhere you can change the volume of the phone when it's ringing. Have you tried adjusting the ring tone volume on your phone itself? this might help solve your issue.

Great video Webby. Can you turn off the engine start/stop function for good in the sync 4. I found it really annoying in the sport demo when you stop at the lights an the car turns off.
@Louise Rodoni The stop/start function is only on the V6 engine, and you can turn it off via a button on the centre console. Unfortunately you can’t permanently disable it so you have to turn it off each time you start the engine
I tested this on my currently reserved 2023 Ranger Raptor & while the screen did get bigger, it remained only two rows of icons (just zoomed bigger). Even though I have multiple pages of apps (4 or 5). Any tips on how to get 3 rows like yours?
Need to go into the DAB. I got my Raptor and struggling on how to even select DAB channels or how to tune them. For example, select "DAB" then press a channel, and goes to FM... Click dab again, and + may get lucky and get a DAB channel but doesn't show as a selection. Very confusing...

What does the display look like when you are reverse parking and what else does the car do or show you to make it easier to park?

@kiiyted Yes, you can connect 2 phones at the same time, but not when using Apple Carplay or Android Auto. Instead you can do it when connecting via Bluetooth. 1 phone for phone calls and the other for music streaming

Great video, is there a function to backup all your settings, to USB or cloud etc, I can see if a Master reset is done, it would take you hours to reset everything to how you had them previously, if you can backup the settings then reinstate them in a few seconds ?, maybe something to ask Ford at the training session if its not available

Nice job webby. Question for everyone. Do many people still use in built Sat nav in cars that have CarPlay? For last 4 cars I’ve had with CarPlay I have not used in built sat nav once. I’m surprised cars are still including it!
My NextGen Ranger Raptor doesn’t have Navigation built in and has had ZERO impact on my use since I always use Apple CarPlay too. Although, some options are also missing like WiFi (don’t care) and built in Software Updates (I do care 😢)
Webby, great informative information. Is the Sync 4 Software for towing automatically included as std with the 2022 Ford Everest Platinum when the Towing/Touring Pack is not ordered from Factory, or does it have to be switched on?

Thank you for this. My applecarplay is not displaying anything at all when I push Apple CarPlay. Everything else works but it won’t display anything on my apple CarPlay. So I can’t see or select music, can’t answer a phone call etc. could you please help me? 😭
@lotenzoafamasaga9257 you could try doing a soft reset which involves pressing the power button until the system restarts, or do a master reset which you can find in the settings. If neither of these work it might require a trip to your dealer to get looked at to see what the problem is

Webby, I have a 24.5 Wildtrak and dealer has advised i can integrate my caravan camera into the infotainment system. However no one has provided a wiring diagram or instructions to give my auto electrician , Can you help please?
@alistairsloman5108 One of my customers had the wiring installed into his their new Ranger Platinum recently. They bought the wiring and an adaptor from Safety Dave and we installed it for them. It was the first one we'd fitted so our technician had to just test it as he installed it to check it was working correctly.

hey mate is there any way of removing the climate controls at the bottom? i find it stupid they have actual buttons and then keep them on the screen as well making it essentually a 2 inch smaller screen then what it is

hi webby thanks for the video. ive got a dashcam front and rear model dtf-922 (vp1wz19a394b) I have the app on my phone and the camera connects through that. but in doing so it doesn't allow me to use android auto. so if I want maps or music I have to press the button for it. I've tried pairing it through the car but I can get it to pair. I've looked all over the net always a different dashcam and not what I want I've even asked ford they don't know either. can you help ty

Question: Does the Apple CarPlay allow you to input numbers or search for contacts while the vehicle is in motion? @@WebbyOnCars Yes we have but if we need to use the keypad (like calling a 13 number or something) then the keypad is disabled. Siri sucks as well because of the multiple phone numbers some of our contacts we have (home, work, mobile etc). It would just be easier if they enabled those features and had a disclaimer that says "Do not operate when driving" therefore alleviating the need for indemnity if someone was to have an accident as a result.
@@MrCrazyivan01 I’ve never tried asking Siri to dial a number, but you can ask it to call different numbers for a contact ie. ‘call Steve mobile’ or ‘call Steve home’
Hi Webby, how do I set the sat nav up to tow a caravan and get suitable caravan routes? The manual says go to the menu and select caravan and trailer but it’s not available. Is this an extra subscription if so how do I get it? Thanks in advance

The built in manual says to open the navigation tab and then press the menu to select caravan and trailer navigation (if fitted) I’m assuming with having the platinum and the tow pack, the sat nav includes caravan routes. I can’t find the menu, do you know where the menu is on the platinum navigation screen? The only one I can see is the icon with the spanner but nowhere in there does it show the caravan and trailer option for navigation. I have phoned Ford and to my astonishment they didn’t know where the menu option is!!! The dealer also doesn’t know, they said their training didn’t cover that topic, crazy I know.
Hi Webby. How does the tyre monitors work on the Ranger. Does a low pressure alert come up on the dash. Thinking it may have pressure monitors in the tyres. My friend has a set up in his Hyundai Terracan with monitors screwed onto the tyre valves. Regards
this looks a bit different from mine. Just picked up today and having issues connecting the phone. When in connectivity and trying to search the for available apps it says my phone is not connected but yet apple car play works
@Crsf84 When you connect your phone, you can either choose to use carplay or not. If you do then the apps work through carplay, if not then they will work through the built in system.
When in Sand Mode in the Everest Platinum do I have to lower my tyre pressures manually on 21 inch tyres? … or would it be better to have the 18 inch tyres? Thanks for your informative vids

@Sharron Miller I haven’t tried that yet. I know you couldn’t do that on the previous SYNC3 so I’m not sure if this new system will do it but I’ll investigate and see if it’s possible.
Hi Webby, just a quick question..for markets without inbuilt Modems, how would we know that updates available that needs SYNCH4 to be updated..especially critical updates like security enhancements etc?
@@WebbyOnCars Yes..sorry I am from Papua New Guinea and that was what I have been told by the local dealership here. Our (PNG) builds don't have inbuilt Modems.

Webby, I have a 24.5 Wildtrak and dealer has advised i can integrate my caravan camera into the infotainment system. However no one has provided a wiring diagram or instructions to give my auto electrician , Can you help please?
@alistairsloman5108 One of my customers had the wiring installed into his their new Ranger Platinum recently. They bought the wiring and an adaptor from Safety Dave and we installed it for them. It was the first one we'd fitted so our technician had to just test it as he installed it to check it was working correctly.

Great video mate! I have an XLT with touring pack but doesn't have zone lighting. I can see this XLT had the touring pack were you able to find the zone lighting?
@Daniel Morzone Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it. I had a look through the settings on the sync4 system in an XLT which had the touring pack today, and couldn’t find anything about the zone lighting, but I found it when I connected my phone via FordPass.
hey mate is there any way of removing the climate controls at the bottom? i find it stupid they have actual buttons and then keep them on the screen as well making it essentually a 2 inch smaller screen then what it is
@QuestForDay Unfortunately not, but that’s a great idea. I think it would be better if the digital buttons could shrink down until you need them

hi webby thanks for the video. ive got a dashcam front and rear model dtf-922 (vp1wz19a394b) I have the app on my phone and the camera connects through that. but in doing so it doesn't allow me to use android auto. so if I want maps or music I have to press the button for it. I've tried pairing it through the car but I can get it to pair. I've looked all over the net always a different dashcam and not what I want I've even asked ford they don't know either. can you help ty
@DavidWall-sy1fr Thanks David, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Try turning the wifi off on your dash camera, as this is probably interfering with the wireless android auto in your car.

Question: Does the Apple CarPlay allow you to input numbers or search for contacts while the vehicle is in motion? My missus hates that I have to pass her the phone when i'm driving if she wants to call someone using the Sync 3 system in the 2021 Ranger. Thanks!
@MrCrazyivan01 Thank you, I hope you enjoyed the video. You can use Siri for most things on sync3 like making phone call’s. Have you tried using that instead?
@@WebbyOnCars Yes we have but if we need to use the keypad (like calling a 13 number or something) then the keypad is disabled. Siri sucks as well because of the multiple phone numbers some of our contacts we have (home, work, mobile etc). It would just be easier if they enabled those features and had a disclaimer that says "Do not operate when driving" therefore alleviating the need for indemnity if someone was to have an accident as a result.
@@MrCrazyivan01 I’ve never tried asking Siri to dial a number, but you can ask it to call different numbers for a contact ie. ‘call Steve mobile’ or ‘call Steve home’

Hi Webby, how do I set the sat nav up to tow a caravan and get suitable caravan routes? The manual says go to the menu and select caravan and trailer but it’s not available. Is this an extra subscription if so how do I get it? Thanks in advance
@stuartmiddleton4090 I haven't tried any of the features with a caravan hooked up yet. Maybe it only works once the van is hooked up maybe?
@@WebbyOnCars Thanks for the reply mate. The built in manual says to open the navigation tab and then press the menu to select caravan and trailer navigation (if fitted) I’m assuming with having the platinum and the tow pack, the sat nav includes caravan routes.
I can’t find the menu, do you know where the menu is on the platinum navigation screen? The only one I can see is the icon with the spanner but nowhere in there does it show the caravan and trailer option for navigation. I have phoned Ford and to my astonishment they didn’t know where the menu option is!!! The dealer also doesn’t know, they said their training didn’t cover that topic, crazy I know.
Hi Webby. How does the tyre monitors work on the Ranger. Does a low pressure alert come up on the dash. Thinking it may have pressure monitors in the tyres. My friend has a set up in his Hyundai Terracan with monitors screwed onto the tyre valves. Regards
@tyroneclarke1666 there are tyre pressure sensors in each wheel, and the info is displayed on the display in front of the driver.

this looks a bit different from mine. Just picked up today and having issues connecting the phone. When in connectivity and trying to search the for available apps it says my phone is not connected but yet apple car play works
@Crsf84 When you connect your phone, you can either choose to use carplay or not. If you do then the apps work through carplay, if not then they will work through the built in system.

When in Sand Mode in the Everest Platinum do I have to lower my tyre pressures manually on 21 inch tyres? … or would it be better to have the 18 inch tyres? Thanks for your informative vids
Even if you have 18" tyres you still need to lower your tyre pressures.
@stefan Dermur If you're going to be going off road a lot, you'd be better off with the 18' wheels and all terrain tyres.

@Sharron Miller I haven’t tried that yet. I know you couldn’t do that on the previous SYNC3 so I’m not sure if this new system will do it but I’ll investigate and see if it’s possible.

@Lance Sililai I wasn’t aware that you could get sync4 without the built in modem.
@@WebbyOnCars Yes..sorry I am from Papua New Guinea and that was what I have been told by the local dealership here. Our (PNG) builds don't have inbuilt Modems.
Same here in Saudi Arabia, which is why I believe I do not get 3 rows of Apple CarPlay icons when in Full screen!
