Maheshji I am seventy and I remember I have been Shankar Jaikishanji's fan since I was only twelve years old ( 1964 ) . I woke up 4.09 am and watching this video .( 4.36 am ) . That's how much I love my favourite music directors and I never miss any video on Shailendraji.
GENIUS SJ will ever be remembered as a pioneer of bringing western giant symphony concept(which they used only in their cllassical)in our melodic scales of the raags through the songs.They gave Grandness to the simple song which takes hardly 2 or 3 minutes.thx for recalling SJ.
Shankar Jaikishan was the emperor of music industry of Bollywood. Their tunes are evergreen and Melodious. No other Music Director could not reach as they achieved a great success.

Rafi Saab, Respected Lata Mangeshkar and others. It was a Jodi which had no parallel until the sad demise of Shri Jaikishan Saab. Both the veteran composers were masters in their own styles and rocked the Hindi Film Industry. After his death Shankar Saab's genius was not visible in his compositions as compared with when they were together. The death of Jaikishan Saab was like a loss of a brother to Shankar Saab which had probably affected his success and popularity subsequently which actually doesn't mean that Shankar was in anyway less talented than Jaikishan.This team of Lata Ji, Mukesh Saab and Rafi Saab were invincible and owed their individual successes to each other and I am one of their greatest fans among millions and millions of many others. My respects to all of them. Luckily we still have Lata Mangeshkar Ji amongst us whom we can worship for the loads of happiness and succour she has given us through her immortal songs.

Success of SJ was so enviable that some lobby has plotted to separate two genius, Jai died due to drinking in depression, Shankar was killed by plotted plan. And the void was created for the benifits to accommodate vasted interest. (read on google about death of Shankar) They continue to live forever in heart.

I fully agree with you! Nobody ever could surpass them in their era; nobody ever would be able to do so in future! In addition to RDB and NS, even Jatin-Lalit, in their earlier days, had SJ as their idols. two other MDs who were SJ-admirers and followers are: Ram-Laxman and Ajay-Biswanath. Of course, there may be many more.

Most music directors of the past 20 years are big fans of RD Burman.. including AR Rehman and Jatin Lalit..there are so many RD die hard fans out there nowadays.. the biggest fan of SJ as an active music director is actually Annu Malik..in the past Laxmikant Pyarelal themselves were great fans of SJ...they are the only music directors who can be compared to SJ...

I am very happy to see that OP, Naushad and SD were not mentioned in this video. These three gave catchy and melodious music. Each one of them had a different style and their individuality showed up in their compositions. They used musical instruments very well and their musical compositions showed a good balance of the use of musical instruments and tunes. Dattaram was one of the assistants of SJ.
