It was a prank played by Raj ji to amuse the people. I have seen the full film ( 16 MM projector) years ago. The final shot shows Raj ji bringing Manna da out from backstage .
I don't know how youtube algorithm works but thankfully my youtube feed has gone back in time and now i am recommended songs,concerts and shows from 70's to 90's. Hope this never changes, it was the time when music with full orchestra, talent & skills were more important than presentation and appearance.

I listened to the music of Jaikishan in the Rang Upavan auditorium in Surat. He was playing harmonium and singing also. It was a privilege to see this great musician just 10 feet away from me. I was the most senior Police Officer present in the audience , sitting in the front row. I regret that I did not step on the platform and shake hands with him. I shall always repent this .

No, sorry , Raj kapoor ji was not singing in his own voice. He was just playing prank. I have seen the complete event in 16 mm projector at my friend's house decades ago. My friend's father was in the Navy. Once Raj ji is done with the song, he is seen calling Manna da to come out from behind the curtain. What is shown here is the edited version. Nevertheless Raj ji & Shammi ji could sing fairly well.

It was a prank played by Raj ji to amuse the people. I have seen the full film ( 16 MM projector) years ago. The final shot shows Raj ji bringing Manna da out from backstage .

I don't know how youtube algorithm works but thankfully my youtube feed has gone back in time and now i am recommended songs,concerts and shows from 70's to 90's. Hope this never changes, it was the time when music with full orchestra, talent & skills were more important than presentation and appearance.

I listened to the music of Jaikishan in the Rang Upavan auditorium in Surat. He was playing harmonium and singing also. It was a privilege to see this great musician just 10 feet away from me. I was the most senior Police Officer present in the audience , sitting in the front row. I regret that I did not step on the platform and shake hands with him. I shall always repent this .

No, sorry , Raj kapoor ji was not singing in his own voice. He was just playing prank. I have seen the complete event in 16 mm projector at my friend's house decades ago. My friend's father was in the Navy.
Once Raj ji is done with the song, he is seen calling Manna da to come out from behind the curtain. What is shown here is the edited version. Nevertheless Raj ji & Shammi ji could sing fairly well.
