Another amazing vehicle and in stellar condition. What's impressive is that the car puts out 450 horses and you can still see the ground under the engine! Bob is a real perfectionist who went through the pains to do such an awesome restoration. Thanks for starting the day of so well and for putting such excellent content forward Lou.

Bob is right; this Chevelle is stunning! It has all the right options for fun cruising, and its history/car story is stunning, too. With all that power, I doubt the white paint on the spare would last too long, if needed. Thanks, Lou!

The 1970 Chevelle is my favorite muscle car period. It is my dream car. In a perfect world I would be driving a forest green, white or green interior, black or dark green vynil top, and white stripes. 454 and a 4 speed of course. Have wanted a green one for as long as I can remember. A guy in our town has the most beautiful green with white stripes 70 I have ever seen. I was riding my pedal bike the first time I saw it. The guy still owns it to this day and it is still as beautiful as the first day I saw it. The sound, the smell..... I love your videos Lou. You don't realise how much they mean to alot of us. Take care.

"454 Earth Mover" was the title of the road test article from Hot Rod magazine when they tested the SS 454 Chevelle in 1970, I have the magazine!!! Such an awesome car, beautiful color combination and oh man, a 454/4speed cowl induction Chevelle!!! Love it!!!
Also, the advertising for this car showed massive ropes going through the car having it tied down to huge stakes in the ground saying, "The competition wishes we would keep it this way"!!! So cool!!!

The ‘70 Chevelle SS is my favorite car, I’d take one with any of the BB engines. I wouldn’t complain. Check out the “Patrick Glenn Nichols Muscle Car Barn Find channel. Mr. Glenn knows how to decode these cars, amongst many others, he will get down to the details on the hood and deck lid stripes on these Chevelles of where the car built of whether the corner of the stripes are squared off or rounded off. Very interesting. I hope you had fun, Mr. Lou. See if you can find the el Camino version for a review.

Patrick Glenn Nichols is the man when it comes to Chevelles hands down. If anyone is thinking of plunking down big money for a big block. I’d call him first to verify if the car is what the seller claims it to be.. There are more Frankenstein Chevelles out there than original engine/trans matching number cars.

What a beast! Mine was red and was the weak-sister with the 396. Bought it in1975 for $1800 (approx $9K in 2021 dollars). Had 3K miles. When I entered the Marines in 77, ended up stationed in 29 Palms California...where the car was promptly stolen..."Astro Air"...not a/c...ouch.

Had a ‘70 Chevelle (not the SS) with a 350 4V and 3-speed on the floor, dark green with black vinyl top. It would accelerate to 60 mph quickly, but really high revs at 70 mph in 3rd… absolute gas hog, but I loved it.

As a car should be, or engine rather, 1hp per each c.i., right? At least that’s the way I see it! But awesome Chevelle Lou! Yeah he’s right, they under rate the real hp of cars back then because of insurance purposes, I’d say that LS6 in that was probably closer to 500 ponies and probably just as much torque.

How did it escape the plastic woodgrain treatment? So grateful it did. There is only one thing that says tacky more than the cheap plastic woodgrain they were putting on cars of this vintage, shag carpeting. . That black finish that’s for sure in the same locations they liked to put woodgrain, looks so much better. Good job Chevrolet style department. The black is stock and it looks great. Just another reason to lust after this

Fathom blue seems to be a popular color, second one you have feature in the same color, with an LS-6 and a convertible. I notice that the seats don't have the metal insert, that one of the other Chevelles did., you featured. I know 70-72 Chevelles pretty well.

Very very nice car, but 9D on the build data way to early for a ls6 car. First few come out mid November 69. 9D is last week of September. They was still taking orders for the 396 375hp L78. The ls6 engine option was not even available for orders until 10/31/69

Do you have a true build sheet? I see lots of wrong issues that leads to believe it's not a true LS6. What are the engine serial number? What's the Muncie serial number? Lots of fakes out there. It's really weird that I have seen more LS6 convertible in one year then they ever produced...hummmm

Beautiful car. However, these boomers think way more of the car than they actually are. No disrespect, but the fact is the 450 HP was Gross…engine on a.Bench, no exhaust, no accessories. Times change. Today we use SAE Net ratings, in the car, full exhaust, all accessories on and operating fully. Thus, that 450 gross HP is just 370 NET HP. And they didn’t under rate for insurance purposes, that is a flat out myth. It was the HP wars…if anything they over rated them.

Looks fake AF to me. The trim tag can't be real, and the dash isn't right. That's not an original hood, later reproduction. Nothing original about this car. Nice clone at best.
