The 1970 Chevelle is my favorite muscle car period. It is my dream car. In a perfect world I would be driving a forest green, white or green interior, black or dark green vynil top, and white stripes. 454 and a 4 speed of course. Have wanted a green one for as long as I can remember. A guy in our town has the most beautiful green with white stripes 70 I have ever seen. I was riding my pedal bike the first time I saw it. The guy still owns it to this day and it is still as beautiful as the first day I saw it. The sound, the smell..... I love your videos Lou. You don't realise how much they mean to alot of us. "454 Earth Mover" was the title of the road test article from Hot Rod magazine when they tested the SS 454 Chevelle in 1970, I have the magazine!!! Such an awesome car, beautiful color combination and oh man, a 454/4speed cowl induction Chevelle!!! Love it!!! Also, the advertising for this car showed massive ropes going through the car having it tied down to huge stakes in the ground saying, "The competition wishes we would keep it this way"!!! So cool!!!
The best car you've done. My old buddy had one, a hard top blue with white stripes but black interior. I also have a Danbury Mint 1/18 hardtop like my buddy's. The drop top has perfect colors, white fitting of a convertible. Thanks again Lou!

Another great video Lou. I seen one LS6 Chevelle SS convertible in a Muscle Car Museum years ago. Patrick Glenn Nichols is the man when it comes to Chevelles hands down. If anyone is thinking of plunking down big money for a big block. I’d call him first to verify if the car is what the seller claims it to be.. There are more Frankenstein Chevelles out there than original engine/trans matching number cars.

As a car should be, or engine rather, 1hp per each c.i., right? At least that’s the way I see it! But awesome Chevelle Lou! Yeah he’s right, they under rate the real hp of cars back then because of insurance purposes, I’d say that LS6 in that was probably closer to 500 ponies and probably just as much torque.

Beautiful car. However, these boomers think way more of the car than they actually are. No disrespect, but the fact is the 450 HP was Gross…engine on a.Bench, no exhaust, no accessories. Times change. Today we use SAE Net ratings, in the car, full exhaust, all accessories on and operating fully. Thus, that 450 gross HP is just 370 NET HP. And they didn’t under rate for insurance purposes, that is a flat out myth. It was the HP wars…if anything they over rated them.
Looks fake AF to me. The trim tag can't be real, and the dash isn't right. That's not an original hood, later reproduction. Nothing original about this car. Nice clone at best.

Very very nice car, but 9D on the build data way to early for a ls6 car. First few come out mid November 69. 9D is last week of September. They was still taking orders for the 396 375hp L78. The ls6 engine option was not even available for orders until 10/31/69

What is the lure of a convertible, anything?
Hi tom7601, On a nice day it's nice to have the top down. Hoping other Viewers can share their thoughts too, Lou
So this car is unverified as a factory LS6 build ? A nice car nonetheless.
Happy to read you like this "nice" car :-)
Did any of those drive tires last over nine hundred miles?!?
Hi Gary, Can't say for sure, Lou
Do you have a true build sheet? I see lots of wrong issues that leads to believe it's not a true LS6. What are the engine serial number? What's the Muncie serial number? Lots of fakes out there. It's really weird that I have seen more LS6 convertible in one year then they ever produced...hummmm

Folks you're looking at a car that could easily sell for close to a million dollars now.
Hi Garrison, Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Beautiful car. However, these boomers think way more of the car than they actually are. No disrespect, but the fact is the 450 HP was Gross…engine on a.Bench, no exhaust, no accessories. Times change. Today we use SAE Net ratings, in the car, full exhaust, all accessories on and operating fully. Thus, that 450 gross HP is just 370 NET HP. And they didn’t under rate for insurance purposes, that is a flat out myth. It was the HP wars…if anything they over rated them.
HI EdyDeIKev, Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou

Happy to see you enjoy this car Joe Smo :-)
Looks fake AF to me. The trim tag can't be real, and the dash isn't right. That's not an original hood, later reproduction. Nothing original about this car. Nice clone at best.
