Luv these Jumpshot 2wd trucks, here in the UK you can get the Brushless Flux versions for under 200 GB Pounds. Bonkers fast on 3s, I have the longer w/b ST Truggy & the even longer w/b SC Short Coarse version. I went with the lonnger w/b versions because I knew the MT version short w/b was a crazy wheelie machine, the other 2 Flux versions wheelie on command but not as much as the MT version. The rod ends coming off is a pain in the arse, re the spur 48 pitch gear. You can get an Integy steel spur gear, but need to order from the USA. Making it expensive with postage costs, you can fit Arrma 3s line 38 pitch / mod 0.8 spur gears along with the Arrma slipper pads. Another weak area on the brushed version if your going brushless, is the plastic gear that goes around the outside of the diff inside the gearbox. Simply change that gear out for the metal gear that comes stock in the brushless version, there pretty cheap at around 7 GB Pounds for the gear. Another reason I went with the longer chassis versions is you can move the battery box assembly further forward with the extra holes drilled in the chassis side plates, gets the weight even further foward. Even then I fit some extra weights at the front of the truck. Still a wheelie machine on 3s, but more enjoyable/driveable.
Really appreciate all the tips! I did buy a new spur, the HSP ones fit perfect, still only mod0.5/48 pitch but I got the steel one so hopefully it is good enough steel and will last🤞 A mate of mine planed on doing the SCT chassis conversion on his but had other issues with it so fever could get it done but I absolutely want to do the conversion at some point, I love long chassis builds😁 Thanks for checking out the vid and again thanks for the tips👌
Nice. I had bags of fun with my 2wd Slash. It ended up with a bunch of aluminium parts. Traxxas Hoss Sledgehammer wheels and tyres. Max10 and 3660 4000kV brushless. It was pretty nuts. 96kph from memory. I took the motor and ESC out and they have been in a Rlaarlo 917 and a VRX Cobra. Searcing Cobra stuff was how I came about finding your channel. Again great music choices. Just need those Subs up.
That's is a great result if it was still intended for off-road, 96kph is plenty I think🤘 Sounds like I would've been a sweet set-up! I am absolutely loving the couple of rwd cars I have now, just so different to drive but so fun. And I hope you got some helpful tips from my cobra vids, they are good cars if you don't go nuts with them😅 Thanks Jason, glad your enjoying the tuned, been fun making them!
Good video. Nice bash session. It really does seem to be a good truck overall. Yeah, I don't think those plastic spur gears are designed to handle a 3S brushless setup.
Yeah definitely seems to be a great 2wd monster from my little experience. No not a 3s brushless spur, oops😆 Apparently the diff gears on the brushed version aren't the strongest either, see how long it lasts😬 Thanks Tim!
Thanks mate! The one off the Vorza truggy should be a direct fit but I've not got the buggy so if they have different diff cases or something then I'm not sure, here is the one I'd use, apologises if you can't use this link, part number should be on that page though👌 hobbiesdirect.com.au/products/hpi-trophy-truggy-bumper-set-101172-5193
@@rccrazy I actually have that, it won't fit. The Truggy bumber connects with the front shock tower, the buggy tower hasn't got the holes cut out for it and I don't have a drill press to put them in. Cheers anyway though my friend 🙂
@kylarstern7627 you can still run the bumper without drilling holes, just means the tower will be more like a bump stop than a mounting point. I have many cars with bumpers like that, some I used zip ties to mount that specific part to the tower if it looked too vulnerable. Works fine as long as you don't land upside-down nose first and rip the bumper off😅
I just picked up a used jumpshot roller.seems like a cool truck mine is orange short course body..I am trying to find out what pinion it takes...its not mod .6 but it is very close...can you remember sir..thanks for sharing😊
Well no they are actually VERY SLIGHTLY different but close enough that they will work together without ending in gear damage. Some pinion are even listed as mod.5/48dp. And you are welcome😁
Maby spray paint all the small bits that fall off like the drive shaft. Needa rubber cover for drive shaft cups like a regualr cars fwd drive shaft axel boots.
Yeah I have seen quite a few people spray the dogbones so if the fall out they are easy to find. And yes the axle covers or maybe upgraded CVD shafts if some are available for this car would be a good idea👌
hi, what's your opinion abouth maverick Quantum Q2 brushed vs jumpshot MT V2? one is 2WD and other 4WD but regarding quality and for first car? thx a lot and wish you a good day from France.
I've not had the new quantum but they look pretty good, being 4wd they are not really the same though, the quantum will be better for air control and control in general but it would have many more parts so much harder to work on if damaged or you want to upgrade.
Yes, i understand that RWD is fun as well, but what about those weirdos who claim that it's all about "skill" and 4wd is for "p*ssies" who can't drive, and that 4wd adds no actual functionality, and a "good" 2WD truck can go everywhere that a 4wd truck can go. I know that's BS with 1/1 scale trucks, but what is your opinion regarding scale driving? It sounds like arrogant nonsense to me, but the only time i drove 2wd was when my front diff was busted, so that isn't quite the same. PS: from the 3 Aussie RC channels i watch, i noticed that you say "stock standard" instead of the "bog standard" that we'd say on west coast USA. Is that because like the UK, "bog" means "toilet" ? I'm trying to aquire more world knowledge for my stand-up routine. I'm gonna be the next Carrot Top 😢
In my humble opinioin, I prefer 4x4 trucks as I enjoy jumping and doing backlips etc. I sense a signifigant amount of control with 4x4 while manuvering midair. 2x4 not even close.
In basically every scenario if your running the same power in two cars, one rwd and the other 4wd 9 times out of 10 the 4wd will dominate. It does take a bit of extra skill to drive rwd cars I guess but I much prefer the feeling of a 4wd, still takes practice and skill. And honestly I've never heard the saying Bog standard, stock standard actually has many uses but one definition is "ordinary or standard, most usual" so I've just grown up using it. Example, In Australia the standard rims you get on most cars made to mount hubcaps onto we call "stockies"
On loose surface the 2wd with powerful motor is much more diffilcut and also on the braking beacuse only rear wheels are doing all the braking. I had 4x4 truggy and when I tried 2wd I sold it after few months. It sounds weird but it drove too well and easy so I got borred.
You were driving hard enough if you got bored😅 Yes I understand, for your driving style 2wd was a challenge compared to 4wd so it was more exciting. Saying that though I would never attend what I do with my 4wds like 40ft jumps and triple flips with my 2wds because most just can't from lack of control and centrifugal force.
@@rccrazy For sure, I dont do a lot of jumps (at least not willingly lol) 😀, just drifting in the dust etc. I guess the best solution is to have them all 😂😂😂 I would love to try something like an xmaxx one day in terms of 4wd, i saw one in the flesh and it looked super fun!
Mate get a blitzer beetle convert it to 3s brushless their heaps of fun and look stunning bashing around the park
They do look cool, a bit expensive but one day maybe👍
Sweet❤

Nice one mate, got that brushless in quick. Needs a bit of weight in the front 😅
Yeah since it is my "newest" car I thought I'd get a few vids done reasonably quick.
And yeah definitely needs some more front weight😆

Hey mate awesome video, since you put bumpers on all your cars can you possibly recommend one for the new Vorza Buggy ?

Your looking for mod.5 or 48dp(pitch) pinions🙂
So a 48 pitch is also called a mod .5? Thanks for the fast help...😊
