Thank you! I tried to find information about "incomplete lineage sorting" and ended up watching this whole video. It was very easy to follow even though my first language is not English.
I'd to thank Dr. Edwards and iBiology for this lecture. I heard about incomplete lineage sorting from creationists and how it supposedly presented a problem for evolutionary theory. When I read their source (www.nature.com/doifinder/10.1038/nature10842) it didn't look like there was anything that contradicted evolution, at least now I have a superficial understanding of what ILC is. Lectures like this help for us laypersons who just happen to be interested in evolution.
What do you mean by "gene" in gene trees? Are they protein-coding regions with selection pressure acting on it or simply arbitrary denominated sequences that don't have a functional significance?
This is such a clear explanation of very subtle concepts. Thank you!!
Really useful lecture, describing complex concepts in a simple manner. Thanks Dr. Edwards!

The lecture was great. He’s a good speaker. His tone of voice makes me think he’s pitching a new apple product

Excelente Clase !!
Can you add subtitles English or Spanish? I am a Spanish speaker so it is some difficult to follow the seminar accurately.
and they never did xD
One small point: Theta is not the Greek letter "Q". There is no "Q" in the Greek language. It is "q" on the keypad when typing in Greek.
interesting
Leozoologo just click on the legend that is below the video to the right side. ;)
