Even at the end of his career when Alesi did a few races for Jordan he was the only driver on the grid with a clutch pedal which was at that stage only used for launch. All the others had it on steering wheel. However, he insisted, and Jordan had to modify car for him.
Also as he lived with Eddie Jordan's family in UK whe he was very young he's the only person who gets away with taking the piss out of Jordan's hairpiece.
Should have had about 4 WDCs with Williams. Sublime talent. Still a hero in Italy where I've always lived.

I had the pleasure in watching Alesi in F3000 and throughout his F1 career.
Always wild. Always on the absolute limit. Always maximum attack.
Jean Alesi was to F1 what Martin Schanche was to rallycross, Henri Toivonen was to rallying or Steve Soper was to touring cars.
Only one F1 win is criminal. Jean Alesi should have been multiple F1 world champion. For me, Alesi will always be one of the very best. Right up there with Tazio Nuvolari, Jim Clark, Mario Andretti, Gilles Villeneuve, Nigel Mansell, Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen.
      Wild. Fearless. Fast.

Since joining the Tyrrell team, Alesi has worn out his tires faster than anyone else thanks to his aggressive driving style.

There were many driver aids (traction and abs) in the early 90s before getting banned somewhere between 93-94. I can't be sure but alesi most likely used some of them when he was in ferrari in 91,92,93 - or even earlier than that in Tyrrell in 89 and 90
