- The VW Dealer Wanted A Fortune for this Repair; I Fixed it for £15! (It took 5 Minutes) late in November I started having issues with my vw polo after taking it to a garage who wasn't able to solve the problem and a vw specialist who advised me it would need a new ECU I called Volkswagen to get a quote for the repair and I was told all in would be £2000 pounds
I didn't trust the diagnosis I got from the specialist as I was certain issue was just a sensor because I diagnosed the car with my Carly scanner before I took it in so I purchased the part second hand on Ebay for £15 pounds and saved my car from the scrap yard

I swear some mechanics just want you to spend unnecessary money lol, good stuff finding and fixing the issue 🔥
Like it grows on trees lol and thank you bro appreciate the kind words 👏
One thing I've learned in my 2 years of owning used cars and getting them fixed is that mechanics are good at fixing things but extremely shit at diagnosing issues. The amount of incompetence I've come across is incredible. Me, a noobie that came from fixing computers, can find out solutions to issues that mechanics of over 10 years can't seem to find. I sound arrogant I know, but its what I've had to deal with.
It's crazy it's to think that it can actually be like that and it's sad to think that if it was another person with the same issue they would have lost out
Studying electronics engineering has come in handy for me so many times when I left the industry I thought what a waste of time all that effort was for but daily life shows me it wasn't and it still plays a crucial role in all I do because the principles are universal 😊
They are not shit at diagnosing, an experienced mechanic shouldnt have issues diagnosing specially with todays technology. They lie/exaggerate so you end.up paying more. 95% of mechanics are unreliable and what i find funny is most of people who are happy with their mechanics they are unaware they get overcharged everytime
@@imrxnz2531 im talking about the small shops or medium sized ones. The retail ones are usually quite but the mechanics at the everyday shops are incredibly incompetent. Me, a guy who has been dealing with eletronics most of my life, can diagnose a car given the right tools better than the mechanics I've come across and i've only been interested in cars for 2 years. How in the hell does that make sense?
@@imrxnz2531 and the worst part is when they keep telling you that they've got 10 or 15 years of experience which is most likely bullshit
Nice one bro. Use the money to get something else done 😉
Exactly that there's something else coming on the channel in the next few weeks
How often does your car go to DPF Regen, my one happens so often
I drive short journeys a lot so from time to time it asks me to jump on the motorway and regen if it's happening often I would get the dpf cleaned
