Here is something not said. All illegal aliens (which are the people this lady was setting up accounts for) MUST supply unlawful documentation. All of them. They don't have any lawful documentation to provide because they are here criminally. So right off the bat, they should not be setting up accounts. To provide lawful documentation would help enable INS to locate them for deportation.
Okay so why set up accounts? Two reasons: #1) it makes it much easier to transfer funds outside the country (which they would have to do at a check cashing place) so this may save them transaction fees and #2) in the rare circumstance where they were paid in check and not cash for their unlawful labor. If they are given a check, they must cash it to get the money. Open an account, deposit the check, when it clears, take the cash.
Overdraws? Well duh. These are peasants. Peasants are generally not sophisticated enough to even KNOW if there is enough money in an account when they write a check or make a payment. These are cash-only people. Having accounts assumes some level of personal responsibility. If they were that responsible, they would have professional jobs back home (wherever they came from) and would not have to be wage slaves in the United States.
My friend use to work there and went through this. It's crazy. He was so stressed out. Begged us to open accounts. They were crazy

It isn't only Wells Fargo that does that. They may not all be as aggressive about it, but I know first hand that the result is that some of the employees end up committing fraud in order to make the numbers or risk getting fired. They are basically salesmen, not bankers.

Same goes with car loans...another scam and fraud. But watching and seeing these illegal tactics it's a big legal mess for the consumers. *Sighs*
They did to ours in 2006. We were in contact with local branch every week while trying to sell the house. One day I go to check on house and see all locks changed, upstairs window broken and huge dent on side of house near window. I tried my garage door opener and it worked. Saw toilets were prepared for cold weather etc..My husband calls the office and the rep there said "we thought you abandoned the house so we had to get into to do a few things". My husband said "I've been talking with you every week keeping you updated on what's happening with trying to sell it. You had my contact info. You could have called me". We finally did a "deed in lieu of foreclosure". 2 years later we learned they put it in our credit report as a foreclosure. It took 6 months to get them to change it. I'll never use Wells Fargo for anything.
We applied for a modification with Wells Fargo, we had never made a late payment. The loan officer told us to just miss one payment so we could claim a "hardship". We reluctantly did so, the next month they started to forclose on our property! Nice way to pick up lots of free homes!

I stopped doing business with Wells Fargo in 1997, that made my account go NSF. And they charged me $35 per transacion per day. Each day it was $235. Can't belive anyone would do business with these crocks.

I was fired for refusing to keep a customer's accounts open when the client clearly didn't need 4 checking accounts with 8 savings accounts! He was getting fee's on each account because the client couldn't keep minimum balances in each or transfers etc. I was also fired and "under investigation" because even though I legitimately opened accounts for my family I wasn't supposed to open accounts for my family. I was supposed to give these accounts to other bankers so they could open it. My managers signed off on opening these accounts for my family and encouraged me to do so. Yet when they asked the service manager, she denied everything. She had been working there 40+ years and knew it was wrong, yet failed to tell me. But of course the new banker is who gets fired.

12 months statute of limitations, so good luck on any lawsuit for wrongful termination. And, WF is notorious for putting their employees under additional q/a scrutiny if they are simply disliked by management. My advice: Just move on with life, go work for a credit union and accept the fact that if you want to be involved with finance, you're going to have to accept lower wages at a credit union, but it will better align with your morals. There's a reason why we don't see anyone at a retail branch among many of the large banks for longer than 6 months - turn n burn employees = turn n burn the customers.
LBloggie ... You could say I am "blacklisted" for Wells Fargo. I was sent a letter telling me I would no longer be able to apply for any job at Wells Fargo. Not that I want to, I was working full time there and had another part time job to get me through college so as soon as I lost the job at Wells Fargo I worked full time at my other job. I don't know how job hunting would have gone if I didn't already have a job. They probably wouldn't give me a good reference.

And had little time to dedicate myself to doing something about it. I will look into this, maybe because of everything going on now I can do something about it?
What she said is 100% true. I used to work for WF.i hated how they pressured us to open accounts to the point that they divided your daily goal by hour. If by 12pm you hadn't have what you were supposed to, they forced you to get in a conference call to explain why you hadn't reach your half a day quota and what were you going to do different for rest of the day. It quickly turned into a nightmare so i found another job and quit. What hurts me the most was that used to love working for a bank before WF bought it in 2008.
Yes I was a teller and they gave us a word track that was a paragraph. We had to recite it to customers even if they didn't wanna hear it. End of the day if you didn't get credit for an acct opening you had to have a meeting with the branch manager. So we had to Cheat our way around and the bankers would have to give us credit so we wouldn't get In Trouble. It became like a competition.

You did the right thing by leaving. If you're incapable of meeting a goal and the failure is too much pressure, leave. That's as it should be. For those who committed fraud, they should be held accountable for their crime. The fraud is not the fault of Wells Fargo, it's the fault of the criminals who chose to commit it rather than succeed or leave.

Wells Fargo told us that it showed a $1,400.00 withdrawal from a device in our home back in 2005 and attempted slam us with penalties. The investigation proved it to be their doing and all the money that went to covering the penalties were put back into the account and we closed it immediately afterwards and yet somehow 3 years later we received a bill claiming we owed them the $1,400. They never saw another red cent from our business ever again.
Wells Fargo is the most corrupt - a disgusting establishment i worked there and they are legitimately corrupt AF.
@@mrvillTV We had to ask our banker seriously that if it were as easy as withdrawing money from our account at home mind you from a computer, wouldn't everyone be using that method?! The look he gave was priceless. Confused and irritated he had to even be the one to remedy the issue. But for the company to still make a claim on the money they had to replace was absurd. Made my faith in banking disappear.

In 2006 Wells Fargo was the underwriter for my first mortgage, needless to say I lost my home five years later. Due to my original mortgage having been bundled and sold to a third party. The class action produced a small settlement.

Bank of America did the same thing. I was a personal banker and to meet goals out bank manager started to push people to open 2 checking, 2 savings, 2 credits, then 2 business checking, 2 business savings, and 2 business credit card per person. When that didn’t work people who would ask a teller for an address change would sign a blank signature card. Then the card would be given to a personal banker to open up 2 checking, 2 savings, 2 credit cards without telling the person. Money would be pulled from one account to another with back office paperwork. When people complained the process was changed to not putting any money in the accounts. When I refused to take part, the bank manager had tellers open accounts and then give me credit for the accounts through back office. It was horrible. So many overdraft fees and accounts closing because people had no clue about the new accounts.

I worked in a former South Florida Bank back in 1996 and I saw the dirtiness in the industry. Frustrated with their ethics and how I was treated, l left work one day and never went back.
I worked for wells fargo for 3 months and i definitely witnessed shady practices. I became a victim of this after i left too. She is not lying.
I worked in one of their call centers and there’s a lot more going on there than just credit card fraud.
When this story broke, my experience cashings check at Wells Fargo during this time suddenly made sense. I used to do freelance work and I was paid with checks drawn on Wells Fargo. I would go in and cash the checks at WF because I did not want to deposit them into my own checking because frankly, I did not trust that the funds would be there. If I deposited it into my own account and it bounced, I would be liable - to *my* credit union. Going to cash it at the bank it was drawn on was the only way I could be sure that my paycheck was even good. For months I'd go in to cash the check for $600 or so at WF, pay the $8 fee, and each and every time no less than three bank employees would harass me to open an account right then and there. They were very aggressive so that was a red flag to me something had to be in it for them. At one point, I just would walk in and off the top say "Nope, I am not interested in any accounts and I am fine with the fee." I shut it down before it started. It's crazy that the employees were screwing gullible people over for fckn $25 dollars at the behest of the bosses who were raking in millions.
We were encouraged to do the same at Bank of America...our raises were dependent on meeting outrageous quotas.

Wells Fargo was my first checking account. I opened it in 2006 when I was 18 years old. I had a credit card opened up that year without my knowledge. And a Line of credit opened up without my authorization at age 24. BANK SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN BY THE GOV’T.

I closed my business accounts, my kid’s accounts and personal accounts a long while back. Advised all my FB contacts to do the same at the time. Institution reeks of scandals.
This is a scary case folks. There was 4 checks that was Mobile deposited into my checking account which I have another checking account not with Wells Fargo never in a life time would I deal with that bank. And these checks came from a Well Fargo bank. And they are counterfeit checks. So now I have a frozen banking account that I can't get into. But I'm thankful that my bank caught these checks. But I'm not thankful that I can't get into my account. Well Fargo banks need to be closed down forever.
Be advised the bank employees create , witness, notarize and fake Wills and Power of Attorney for their friends to swindle disabled clients out of their homes, money you name it

When I had an account with them, I caught them several times being shady. A transaction I made didn't go through till the next bigger transaction went through first. Which caused me to get double drafted instead of just one overdraft fee. Yes it was my fault, I should have been keeping better track of my budget. But it doesn't change the fact that they take advantage of your mistake even more. Even my best friend closed his account with them also. He had made some high end purchases. He went to use his card the next day during his lunch break, only to find his account was frozen. He called the bank, they verified that he was the one who actually made those purchases, and still they kept his account frozen for the month. He already verified that he was the one who made the purchases and they still wouldn't release his account. Completely not a customer friendly scheme they run!

EVERY employee, of ANY company, knows that the fastest way to get fired - or blacklisted from an entire industry - is to contact some "ethics hotline" set up by the co. These things exist only to identify snitches before they rat out the exec's to some regulatory agency.

Working for Wells Fargo at the phone bank at the Shoreview, MN location has been by far the worst employment experience of my entire life. It was so bad I felt I needed to do the right thing and go online to blog about everything that happened while I worked for Wells Fargo in order to warn people who might be considering a career with this horrible, unethical, morally corrupt company. I am 36 years old and I have worked in quite a few call centers. This was the worst call center position I have ever had (and not just because of the phone banker position itself).
I did not apply for a job at Wells Fargo. After making my resume public on indeed.com, I was contacted by email by a hiring recruiter. She asked me to setup a phone interview later that day. After we had the phone interview, she asked me to come in for an in person interview with a hiring manager the next day. The next day I had an in person interview with a hiring manager. Later that same afternoon the recruiter called and made me a job offer which I accepted (even though it was for very low pay, I thought to myself. . . what could possibly be worse than working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota?) I wanted out of that role so bad I figured this must be the light at the end of the tunnel and I went for it. Big mistake!
The training was very basic and failed to prepare us for anything that we needed to know in order to do our job efficiently. The training systems were outdated and the VL didn't even match what agents used out in production. The trainer was rude and didn't seem to care about his job. All they seemed to care about during training was how important it was to document customer complaints to prevent more law suits (because apparently everyone was suing Wells Fargo). I'm not just talking about the scandal of 2016. One time after work, after a customer made some remarks about "how much trouble we were in," I went home and did a google search for "Wells Fargo law suits." I was just shocked and blown away at the sheer volume and dollar amount of legal settlements this bank is being required to pay!
The phone banker role itself was excruciatingly stressful (and I am considered a call center veteran with over 11 years of experience on the phones from multiple call center positions). It was beyond brutal. The volume of calls was staggering, with no time ever in between calls. As soon as one call ended, another immediately beeped in every single day. I averaged over 100 calls a day. One day I took over 200 phone calls! (They expect your handle time as a phone banker to be below 265 seconds.) Keep in mind, Wells Fargo has something called a "second chance" program. This program basically allows anyone to bank with them (despite what they may have done in the past). This means phone bankers were required to take calls from customers who were less than reputable. Again, I am trying to be as transparent as possible about this employment experience. (It seemed every call I took was either from someone in a trailer park or a ghetto!) Customers who didn't even know basic math. People who were at the very bottom of society. I remember receiving phone calls from homeless people!!! They straight out told me they were homeless. Just imagine how difficult it is to explain to someone (who doesn't even understand basic math) how posting times work and why they shouldn't look at Wells Fargo's website for their current balance and that not all transactions post immediately.
After several months out of training they announced they would be closing our site down and "displacing" all of us at the Shoreview, MN phone bank. They promised to help us all find outside employment and they would help "retain" top employees. They also claimed they would offer us all a severance package. We would work through the end of November and everyone would have the entire month of December off with pay. Once January first hit, that's when our severance pay would start. Even though I only worked there for less than a year, I was promised eight weeks of severance pay starting in January. We were also told we would have multiple resources at our disposal, including someone who would work with us one on one to help us be "retained" by the company or to find outside employment. This never happened. First they decided to close more locations down. Then they said they were going to extend production through January. Then it was changed to February.
As if the stress of being "displaced" (which is Wells Fargo's Minnesota nice passive aggressive way of saying laid off) wasn't bad enough, we all had plans on what we were going to do which went up in smoke. So I finally caved in and applied for a position which it turned out Wells Fargo was bringing in to replace the phone bank. They were hiring 60 employees for the Executive Office Case Specialist position. The role involved dealing with escalated complaints that mostly came from branch locations. I passed the phone interview and was called in for an in person interview. Several days later I found out they decided my experience didn't match what they were looking for because during the interview I failed to explain how my experience was a good enough match for the position. At this time I also found out that almost the entire phone banker coaching queue had applied and been accepted for the same role. The manager I had my in person interview with was some guy they flew in from North Carolina to help with all the interviews. During the entire interview I had the impression he didn't want to be there and would rather be doing anything else besides talking to me. I remember at the end of the interview I asked him "What is the next step in the interview process from here?" He replied, "Well, we make our recommendations about who should move forward and then upper management decides the rest." Again, we were promised that management would do everything possible to help top employees be retained or find outside employment. Well this never happened. I ended up walking out and quitting out of sheer frustration and disappointment. (I ended up accepting a job with a different company less than one week later. . . for a much higher rate of pay than what I was making working for Wells Fargo.) I'm still not really sure why they didn't bother to take the time to look up my previous stats or at least look and check and see all the things that I already did for the company up to that point before they made a final decision.
WELLS FARGO HAS FAILED THEIR EMPLOYEES IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. It's almost as if their company culture encourages management to make the worst possible business decisions. This is why this company is in so much trouble. This company is criminal. All Wells Fargo management does is lie, lie, lie, and then lie some more. I'm not sure there will even be a Wells Fargo five years from now. They are closing down call centers and branches EVERYWHERE since they can't afford to pay employees due to all the legal settlements they are being hit with. Also, it has now come to light thanks to the media that Wells Fargo is having problems paying severance to employees from all the locations they have decided to close down. Especially now that all the MULTIPLE lawsuits are starting to be settled (again, as a result of all the poor business decisions management has made in previous years).
This has been an awful, terrible employment experience and I hope this company ends up being shut down!!! I hope this company is held accountable for all the negative things they have done and for all the poor business decisions they have made. If you are offered a job at this wretched excuse for a bank, RUN. . . don't just walk away! You need to do your research and make an educated decision. . . don't buy into this company's B.S. or lower your standards by associating yourself with their irreparably damaged brand. Just remember. . . there are quite a few reasons why this bank is in so much trouble!

You speak well, and I'm sorry you had to go through this experience. The truth is, is that Big Business is only concerned with the $ Bottom line. They don't care about people, building relationships and a community for citizens to prosper and enjoy...... It's a sad culture, that goes on in this Country. People that become Whistle-Blowers to try to help with conditions like Wells Fargo was involved in learn they often become Victims because our own Democracy that is supposed to protect them is nothing but a MYTH! I am a Whistle-Blower and I know what I'm talking about. So do other people who have been persecuted for trying to do the right thing to protect people and our Society. We can go to the Moon... and this conduct ruins people's lives... It makes them ask, where is our DEMOCRACY? The salvation is in people like you and others that bring transparency to all the Corruption and shortcomings in our own Government...Our country is still wonderful because there are too many people who will still stand up to the tyranny that goes on... 7/28/22

I have actually talked to the girl that open my account and then I moved out of state and she answered my call when I told her all my money was taken and oh I have a IRA and she got on the phone and assured me. Now that's $7, 000 and I'm still overdrawn 400 and I give her oh I have Ira there and she says hold on and she goes and checks and she said okay I found that and the next day that was gone. I still see her at another bank branch but Wells Fargo won't listen to me

I worked at Wells during this time. The stress was unbearable. When I left, all 4 of the bankers were on "probation" for not selling enough "solutions".. Even the tellers had sales quotas. To this day, no one in my family will bank at Wells.
Wells Fargo opened up a credit card for me without me knowing to cover an overdraft fee they charged me caused by an 'interest charge'. So they charged me a small amount on my unused account which created an overdraft fee on that credit card which grew interest without me knowing that racked up over $800 of debt of money i did not spend. They scammed me out of my money and as soon as I finish paying the card off I'm closing my account, I encourage people to be wary of this bank. You're just a money tree to them.

When I had it whenever I used my debit card it charged me twice I cought on to it I had 100 dollars and went to Walmart bought 20 dollars of stuff looked at my account I had 60 and it was happening for years ..went to the bank and they didnt admit to it..what do I do to get my money back

As a former Wells employee I don't think all the news is correct. Some probably is and it's probably not good but there is a lot of motivation out there to try to go after Wells. And even if it's all true Elizabeth Warren is no hero for how she's going after the bank. Also I have a theory that the problems may have arisen out of the merger with Wachovia though I'm not sure. Wells wasn't fake though, not when I was there
I closed my account after 20 years and moved to a credit union.
