I was so proud of Serena not because she won this match but because she improved her attitude and played Halep with respect and didn't give up at any point. She fought till the last. She needs to play these top players more and whether she wins or loses isn't the case it's actually more important for her to play top players as that's the only way to improve her game after her return. She need more tough matches like the one against Kvitova last year. She's not still at her best as she was out of breath against Halep alot which is a good indication of where to focus on her fitness.
Karolina Pliskova is a strong player, tall and has NO FAT hanging around her but she was also breathless after a few rallies against Camila, I think they all get tried. The heart pumps quickly when in action.

Here’s the thing about Serena. She defies expectations like other people brush their teeth-every day. Here I thought she was completely out of shape and she comes through in a grueling three-setter against one of the fittest players in the world. Amazing.

I am so glad Serena was able to pull through. But i honestly think that her movement is lacking severly. If you go back and watch matches from 2012 and 2013 she was moving extremely fast around the court. Having said that if her serve and ground strokes are clicking she can still win the slam. Hoping though in the future i can see her with some improve movement.
