good heavens this part of the episode is SO glitchy. Reload after reload after reload just to get the gates/valves to function properly...Someone didn't do a very good job of testing this section, did we Hinterland?
I had the same problem playing the version that was ported to the PS4. They seem to have done a lazy job coding. Even the first door didn't open so I wasted time running around looking for a boiler that I had to heat in order to pressurize the system. Nope, I was overthinking the situation and the game was just not triggering events properly.
I suppose it was a game of follow the pipes, but my mind was attempting logic. I essentially came in here because I'd had enough of throwing levers. Very un-fun. It's not that I'm not a thinker, but. for example, why would you direct steam through a pipe that had a leak? Well that was a part of it. Thanks for sharing.
I defrosted the door but still it was locked. I went back to the small corridor and closed the valved where you have to crouch. Then he says"is worked" and you get a new objektive. Try that before you restart 👍

Thanks, was looking for it. Devs really made it work weirdly. First one got solved by just switching some of locks off and then on. Nothing changed but somehow it worked, idk UPD. I had to reload the game and redo the puzzle, easy the top 10 of game bullshit happened to me ever.
yep, game has been glitchy for me since day 1 (ps4 now to ps5) randomly crashes in wintermute and in survival, it crashes when i enter a building with a loading screen randomly, been doing this since 2017, I have reported it multiple times, no word from HL.
Edit: I found the key, you need to go into the trailer that is just South of the power plant. You're gonna find a dead person laying on the ground and you're gonna loot that body to find a key card. Yes but where is the key? I can't open the door after it's dethawed. Where is that key? I need it. :(
you have to go to the trailer! I think there are two ways to get to the power plant, as my path didn’t go past the trailer. I don’t want to get the key
As many ppl, i got stuck after the ice melt and the door kept showing "locked"... so I closed the "first door that was blocked by ice" and saved and quit... After i reloaded the game, the glitch disappeared... Good luck!
Thank you for helping me get out. One of the worst puzzles ever. Plus the entire place was creeping me the hell out, making me feel I was being watched. It gave off early Amnesia games like The Dark Descent.

Im so frustrated cause ive gone through your video 3 times to make sure all my pipes were in the SAME position as yours and they are, but i still cannot get the control room to unfreeze, i cannot figure out where i went wrong, and i cant find a way to just restart this mission completely to try again. Wow, SPOILER Thank god we don't have to trek back to the prison through the map! Also, when they tell you to 'stash' items, they REALLY need to be specific! bc they literally take EVERYTHING from you, including water, food and ANY clothes you picked up!

I’ve tried watching a few videos of the steam lever part, and the levers are always different colors for different people? Weird. Edit: just reloaded the game and my level colors were different? Dude wtf lol
this game started off great and has become an annoying frustrating POS, after spending 20 years in previous mission lugging survivors around, then this POS steam valves only to have control room still locked after melting, WTF, game officially in the garbage, what an effing waste of time and money!!! Not to mention first door into tunnels that wouldnt open, after 30 years trying to figure out why and came to RUclips for answer of a bug, and to reload mission then it worked, i mean holy fck!!!

Thank you. I had to reload a checkpoint because there was a glitch in it that meant that after I defrosted the door it was still locked.

@@MARMANTROUT what hide out? There are 2 locker keys to discover in the game, but I never found the lockers they go with.

it was a bug. i had to load a quicksave and did every valve again. now it works. weird
