As a boy, Carman played the drums and the guitar, and he began singing at 16. He attended Military School for two years. As his career developed, Carman played clubs before going on to Las Vegas. According to Carman, it was after seeing an Andrae Crouch concert that he joined the Christian faith.
I sent him a letter once back around 1985 and he actually sent me a letter in return written in his own hand. I still have that letter. What a wonderful person he is.

He is awesome, but he doesn't take any credit or admiration for himself, He gives it all to Jesus. I like that about him. He seems to be a "for real Christian"!

But my grandmother pulled a nasty surprise on me cuz she creeped up on stage at the end of the song as the Angel. I got scared cuz I wasn't expecting it and almost fell off the stage. :) Love ya, Carman. :)
No other form of religion (or in this case, 'spirituality') can claim that their leader or saviour or lord or god rose from the dead. Other religions serve a 'way of life', a works system or god that is dead and gone. Our Lord is alive and well and moving in His Church. We are saved by Grace through faith... unto good works. Pray the Lord of the harvest sends workers. This is the year of revival for our nation!!

I like the album version better - but it's always so great to see Carman live! My parents took me once when I was really little, I think he did this one in a suit and top hat, it was so cool!

I attended a Carmen concert in the late 80s. One of the most awesome experiences ever! Such a tremendous man of God.
