- In this video, I go for my first real drive in my 1992 Suzuki Alto Works RS-R that I just purchased a couple weeks ago. This is a 3cyl, turbo, AWD, RHD kei car imported from Japan and is ULTRA tiny. I drove this car two years ago and knew I had to have it!

The "quirk" of having the indicator on the right-hand side of the steering wheel, is so that you can indicate and change gear at the same time whilst keeping one hand on the steering wheel, Japanese idea that seems strange at first , but it works
Most rhd cars have it like that its not really much of a quirk. But this car has it inverted up for right and down for left on an rhd car is kinda weird and counterintuitive.

That's fun! I own a European domestic market Suzuki Swift which was also sold here in Europe as the 2nd generation Subaru Justy, and yes it does have 4wd. It's basically the same as a Geo Metro but with a 4 cylinder engine, 4wd and all the power option goodies. You may know about it, the car was sold in Japan as the Suzuki Cultus.

If you lost a trim piece on one side but you still have it on the other side take it to a 3D print shop have them scan it and make a mirror image.
I see that has the F6 engine... The newer Alto used the K6 engine (Timing Chain instead of belt, and other upgrades) - Arctic Cat used a modified version of the K6 in NA (53hp) and TC (110HP) in snowmobiles!
Cool little car...I have 2 right hand drive classic mini coopers...so I know what it's like driving on that side in a tiny car.

Nice car! I love hatchbacks in general and have a real fascination with Kei class hotrods.
Even cooler is that a teenage girl actually likes and understands cars! These days it seems rare that young people see cars as anything other than transportation or status symbols.
The Alto Works always looked like it would be serious fun.
How do you get a hold of the parts for it? Are there sites that specifically import parts, or do you have to buy off Japanese equivalent of eBay and work with a shipping company to send it overseas?

I am guessing it doesn't come with AC? (Edit: Noticed the AC button when you were showing the head unit. That will help with our summers)
I drive a standard every day but don't think I could drive a standard on the right side of the car LOL
It does have AC but it isn't working, thinking it just needs a recharge. I didnt think I would be able to drive it on the right side either but its actually not hard

Everyone really loves it. The guys at the inspection station thought it was the coolest thing. A lot of people take pictures

Suzuki builds bulletproof cars. It's too bad they rebadged crappy Daewoos and ruined their reliability reputation in the States. I dream of one day being able to buy a new Jimny
