I was considering MD as a career option, but after doing a little research, which included watching this and seeing what realistic expectations are, I have decided to go a different direction. Thank you for helping me to make a choice better for myself and others.
I'm 16 in anatomy, i have been going from chemistry to biology wondering what I even want to do. Becoming a doctor seems really stressful as I look more into it and I ponder if it's what I'm supposed to be. I find myself fascinated with the human body and how everything works and I find myself in every science class I'm in wanting, needing to know more.
Exactly same I am just not able to decide between my interest and this stressful career . Okay btw what are you doing now ? I would really appreciate if you can tell
I am 28 and setting 10 years to become a Doctor (MD). I am on the Spectrum and I want to help people and show people it isn’t impossible for someone like to pursue their dreams
don’t feel fear, I know you can make it to the top, even tho sometimes when I think about becoming one it scares the shit out of me, but challenges will always come our way, so we have to step on them even if it’s impossible.
This had been such an affirming video. As someone getting their second BS in Biochemistry after realizing that my passion for science and medicine hasn’t faded a glimmer in the time of being a student and post graduate- I wrestled for a long time with why I wanted to go into medicine after first realizing that I wanted to. I wrestled with the thoughts of what misconceptions I may have- and what false notions I may have had about my life with a career in medicine. After deciding that working to become a physician was my goal, I often asked myself if I was pursuing something prestigious for social reasons, even though my constant hunger for new knowledge in reading case studies, research journals and pieces by leaders in the field added fuel to the flame in my passion. It can take months and years to reach the right answer, yet you will be glad that you took the time to do so.
I want to be a doctor ❤ I'm 14 years old and remember watching this when I was 12 and first was interested in being a doctor. I'm in Year 9 now and working hard towards my goal. Let's hope I can make it!!! Good luck to everyone too 🎉🤞
I love that you mentioned that the structure of medicine is different in years in other countries outside the US. I would really appreciate if you could do a comparison video or share the story of someone who has pursued medicine in another country and then moved and worked in the US. Much love from Europe. :)
In college we are reading a book called, “Healing of America” which is a really great book describing differences in healthcare systems in countries around te world and ways the US could improve in that area.
Hospitalist or Pediatrician. I wanted to know more about match. It's interesting to see people match into their school but I'm not 100% what it truly means to apply and the process to get there.
I’m 12 and I wanna become a doctor, but to be honest I never thought of a reason, I just thought I wanna help people, but I guess I need to think of a reason on why I wanna become a doctor, thank you, this video helped me and I will be back.
I'm 13. I have tourettes and anxiety, and neurology has always kinda been in my life, because my mom has anxiety too and my brother tourettes. So I've always had to tag along or go to one of my own appointments. I've always found it super interesting how that works, and honestly being an er doctor wouldn't bother me I think, because I like to stay busy and blood doesn't affect me but neurology interests me the most.
High schooler from abroad, I was surfing the web on what subjects I should be studying, but there were a lot of mix ups, such as info from different countries haha. I’m a 15 year old that for his whole life has loved the law but since I started high school and got into a medical magnet my mind has changed. My goal now is to become a podiatrist and maybe to a surgical fellowship wish me luck

It hits different to start this series of videos once you have achieved medical school and I love it! Now, I really wish I could see "So You Want To Be A Fetal Surgeon".
That sounds like an exciting series! 🎥 Fetal surgery is such a specialized and fascinating field. Have you considered reaching out to experts in that area for insights? 🌟
Thank you In many nations, students start their formal education right after high school. I made it friends. Several years ago I decided I wanted to be a doctor. Now, just a couple weeks ago, I was finally accepted to an MD program in the US.
@MedSchoolInsiders From the man himself, thank you! I learned a lot from your channel, and I'm sure it'll continue to motivate me through the tough years I have ahead!
It's to challenge myself to an extent that I'm helping people cure from their pain and in the end of the day the smiles would definitely be worth the hardwork
I’ve been in pain for the past two years, time to take on my pain with science, time to be apart of something greater than what most people can handle, I can handle the years of dedication, what I can’t handle is sitting here wasting time
I'm 12 and I want to try to have a sucsessful life which , is to become a doctor so all the hard work my mother has had to do over the years wont go all to waste I just wanna make her proud . They say not to do it for the money but if you make alot of money you wont have to worry about your finances and you'll be able to buy alot of the things you want and personally I'd rather be financially stable and a little unhappy then being happy but struggling in life, and having a lot money would probably make most people happy

I'm sure you'll do it, one of the most great things about medicine is that it has lots of specialities, you could do an speciality that let you have a calmer life, maybe clinical rather than surgery. Sometimes we need more compassionate and sensitive doctors, it's alright! Try to make that a positive point for you, don't see it as a weakness.
I would love to be a doctor, but I'm not the best at taking care of myself even and I'm certainly not that smart but I'm doing my best in educating myself.
I think it applied to all countries. Only a straight A s students 're given chance to go to med school to become a physicians. I think it's reasonable for the government given chance to them since it just show how good they are at comprehending and memorising the theories since if U pursue a medical degree U' re definitely have to understand and memorise a lot of thinks and also show a good practicality of the theories U've learn. I don't know man med school is hard, it requires commitment n strong determination, during my sister year at med school she's always burnout, luckily with support from my family she nails it. So if U're considering to get to med school just be sure u are really interested to become a doctor and always remember doctor and others health care they all belong to community, thus U' ve to sacrifice a little bit of time for ur family but I tell U what, the money is good bro
My mom would say, as she is a doctor herself: "A doctor can have a business, or become a business man/woman, but he/she can't be a doctor." The same goes when I told her I wanted to be writer. A doctor can be a writer, but a writer can't be a doctor. Hope this helps. I mean, you can be a businessman then a doctor but that's the longer way around.
being a doctor never really crossed my mind until my dad told me to be one, man... i dont really know what to do, i just cant say "no" to him, just wanna make him proud, but... i just have this feeling man... the feeling of being forced to do stuff by your parents like in movies and stuff, makes kind of sad, depressed or something, the future i imagined, was not as clear as it used to be. idk if i should just become one and hope that i will succeed, or talk to him about it more to pursue something else
I'm 14 and have wanted to be a doctor since..... forever !! . My parents do support me eventhough they are a bit doubtful , and are not completely sure if i will make it. But they did say they will support me no matter what, and i love them for it!!!!. I hope i will make it. I have a doubt to Dr Jabbal and all the docs reading this, i wanted to know if pre med is an actual thing, as in , if it is something like a course or its just 4 yrs of college and pre med is just like a name to let people know I'm aspiring to join med school? . I would be really grateful to have this answered!!
I am 12 but i want to become doctor in future I study only 4 hours I have to increase so on that basis I thought that only one doctor so i searched this it was very helpful . My all family support me
I hear people complain all the time saying they wont be a doctor until after residency, but why? As a resident, you have an MD, you are practicing medicine and getting paid for it. Going into medicine, you had to know that you were going to have to complete a residency to get the experience to practice independently, it's not like it should come as a surprise that you're not allowed to practice independently without gaining some years of experience working... AS A DOCTOR.
I’m a 14 year old and I want to be a doctor when I grow up. I live in the Caribbean so I choose my subjects in high school (alr did)and when I graduate I can go straight to med school and stuff😊I was bumped up a grade
You may have already made a video dedicated to "The Match" and I know I'm a little late because I'm watching this in 2020, but i would love to watch a whole other video dedicated towards "The Match".

I'm a 17 years old kurdish girl and it's my biggest dream to become a neurosurgeon pray for me please all I want is to be someone who helps people in someway ❤
Now I’m watching this as a kid and of course my mind will change as I grow and mature. As I first got in school I got parents would tell me to be successful (Doctor Lawyer or anything that’s good) my parents worked hard all their life and they are determined to somehow make me a good man that’s successful. And their are times they told me to become a Doctor, and I Really don’t know much about Doctors or medicine. Can you please do something simplified for a 12 year old kid like me please. I don’t know what to do with my future career so I need this to be explained to me.

Im am almost 30 but i want to start. I spent the majority of my life drinking and ignoring this dream but i still want to do it very badly.
It’s never too late to chase your dreams! 🎉 Your past experiences can make you an even better doctor. What’s your first step to making it happen? 🌟
being a doctor never really crossed my mind until my dad told me to be one, man... i dont really know what to do, i just cant say "no" to him, just wanna make him proud, but... i just have this feeling man... the feeling of being forced to do stuff by your parents like in movies and stuff, makes kind of sad, depressed or something, the future i imagined, was not as clear as it used to be.
idk if i should just become one and hope that i will succeed, or talk to him about it more to pursue something else
don’t live your life based off what your father wants do what makes you happy❤️
"Match video" please.
Please do a video explaining The Match process !!! ❤️
