Was thinking the same, but I believe you can still play Halo 3 from the disc directly. They had the whole funeral for it's online last year I believe ( may have been the year before lol).

Except it dont have a skin for the paint splatter which really throws it off hence the $8 wrap that looks half centered
The protection layer on the console is supposed to be speckled paint looking, I bought the halo edition

I have a theory on this. People probably rented the consoles from a place like Rent-A-Center. They probably held the game codes, possibly original boxes too, as collateral until the console is “paid off”, so someone doesn’t just rent it for a month to get the game. After two years of gouging people with the renting, they decided to just throw the consoles on Wish as “refurbished” after making sure that they worked at a basic level. The company would have at least broken even, if not making a significant profit, after selling the consoles for $600 each.
i could see that, or they could be a mix of costumer returns and some new consoles that probably had damaged retail boxes, which would make the second one make more sense since it was essentially brand new just without its original box

Given that most people are selling the console for $900+, yes that is suspiciously cheap. It’s expensive for an Xbox Series X but suspiciously cheap for the most wanted special edition of the Series X.
@@jolteon345 it's 100$ over MSRP for a used/refurbished console. Just because others are worse overpriced doesn't mean that it's cheap.
@@SPNKrZtrue, i paid around $450 for my pretty much brand new series x, the only odd thing is mine also didn’t have a box and also looked like it wasn’t even used at all, the power and hdmi cables were still in their original wrap yet the console and controller didn’t have their original wrap on them, super weird, i wonder if a lot of these aren’t just straight up brand new consoles that had damaged retail boxes or very small surface imperfections and were sold as a big lot to some distributor that then went on to sell them on wish

About the dim light on the controller, there's a setting where you can change the brightness of the light in the controller and console. Maybe you should check it out.
Could it be that these consoles were stolen from a retailer and then sold on Wish at a discount? It would explain the lower price, great condition, unopened state, and unredeemed codes. Just pair it with various states of packaging and add the occasional scratch and boom you got a stolen xbox sold without arousing suspicion.

I suppose $600 isn't a bad price for a Halo edition Series X. I wouldn't call it suspiciously cheap though. I bought a regular Series X from OfferUp for $400 that came with 2 controllers that have rechargeable battery pack, 4 games ( Resident Evil Village, Call of Duty Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, and Judgment), an RGB stand, and of course the HDMI cable and power cord.

@LeesReviews69 It was stolen from a Reddit quick fix post for the xbox one controller from 7 years ago . You can google a line of the reply and it comes right up .
I tried getting one of those brand new two weeks ago and a day later on GameStop it suddenly was sold out 😢
The movies and TV app I would have kept. Is hands down the best media player app on the Xbox. Plays pretty much every video file that I throw at it.
I'd be willing to bet they bought a bundle of consoles from some mom and pop game store that went out of business or even a gamestop, but in nay case that they bought a huge bundle of stuff from some store that went out of business and they had all of these in it.

I would guess customer returns as “faulty” to retailer (hence lack of box for second) and then retailer may have deal to refurbish and sell, when tested their fine so just get resold like that. I worked for a company in the the UK which has similar deal and a lot of consoles/games will just be opened but are basically change of mind but a lot of retailers here won’t accept like that without it being unopened hence people say “faulty” to get return.
I never use OEM cables. I have third party cables that I feel are a lot better so when I buy a new console I just plug it in to my existing set up. Same with batteries. I have rechargeable batteries that I either buy with the console or existing if it didn't change from old gen.
I have a theory that even tho people are trying to resell these consoles they are not moving. So they end up using then for a little while. They then put them as refurbished to not be seen as a scalper.

The Halo controller is not dim from Factory you can go into the console settings and adjust the brightness in personalize it to your liking

Dude with a straight face said 600 is cheap. For refurbished ones even in Canada they are more around 500. Still a lot but no where near what you said especially converting to the USD you use.
In regards to the left button on the D-Pad, I had the same issue with a brand new controller I bought from Gamestop. I opened the controller and loosened a screw and it fixed it.
You can change the brightness of the Controller light in the xbox settings. I would guess someone had it set to lower light option. & it stayed.
You can dim the controller light in settings, it's where you update in accessories settings
That console was refurbished by a company called trg they sell liquidated merchandise from Walmart.
The light on the controller might be like that because there is a setting on the Xbox to change how bright or dim the light can be on a controller, and maybe it just didn’t get reset when the Xbox got reset

Take the faceplate off the controller, take a razor and remove the slightest amount of plastic from the edge of the hole/circle on the side the D-pad wasn't clicking. I had this happen before and the D-pad wouldn't click because it was ever so slightly hitting the edge of the cut out for the D-pad button.
You can manually dim the light on the controller and console.
the free game is registered to the serial number. so even if you wipe it you can re download it every time it is wiped.
I remember being pissed off af when the scalpers bought all the halo edition ones, now seems like theres a billion everywhere but i no longer want to pay the price, i have a regular one.

That Power Plug into the back of the Console looks significantly larger than the standard Xbox Series X power ply which is rather small so I’m not sure if it’s an illusion on video or if it’s actually a larger plug cause it definitely looks way bigger than

Their reply about the controller was stolen word for word from a Reddit quick fix guide . Chinese sellers will do this a lot . One seller on Amazon actually stole and emailed me my own fix guide from my review that I'd written about the product breaking and how to fix it . Apparently they were sending it out to everybody that left negative feedback about their item . Unless the reply is poorly translated , you can guarantee that they just copied and pasted it from some random person on the internet and it may or may not pertain to your item .

My local market place had one for 300 bucks sealed in box. I still kick myself not grabbing it

You'd get more for a New - Open Box, than you would for Refurbished. The latter implies someone has been in it, voiding any warranty, and the fact they've been it means something was wrong with it whereas New Open Box should mean it's working fine and still under warranty.
I never, ever buy refurbed stuff, I don't want something that's broken once already, or that someone has been poking around inside of. Even I (without any real electrical engineering expertise) could quick fix a few things into working again and sell it as a refurb, but they'd not be working for very long, just long enough for someone to THINK they'd bought something that works, and then when it breaks a few weeks or months down the line, I could say "well it worked when you got it, sold as seen and you marked it as delivered and working, it's your problem now."
Except as he pointed out they were charging $100 less then what the average person on Ebay is going by lol.
To me it's more the thought of " refurbished" brings peace of mind thinking someone has tested / cleaned the console in a significant amount lol.

if u buy an refurbished xbox from microsoft it comes new as well and u can clearly it got stickers from microsoft so basically they just buy those from microsoft in bulk and they just sell those for higher price then microsft
About the controls you sould be able to register it and send it in to Microsoft on you account no problems... it's even free shipping... mine went in the other day. 😢😢😢

Honestly, it feels strange to me that the consoles came in that decent of a condition, especially from Wish. I'm wondering where exactly they're getting them from. Either way, the whole "refurbished" does feel a little disengenious if both haven't been opened.
The state they came in was great but does that make them count as refurbished? I don't know. It doesn't seem like they really did anything other than repackage, or did I miss something? My thoughts are that refurbished *should* mean they went and opened the console.
That is the argument people tried to use when defending DkOldies is what counts as refurbished. I myself wouldn't count it as refurbished since they didn't ( or at least it appears) open the consoles up to clean them out thoroughly.
Agreed, I just don't understand why people throw the word refurbished around so much. If you're gonna say refurbished, just explain what it means. And not only were these described as refurbished, the listing literally gives no info on what comes with the console

There’s a reason why people say refurbished one it’s brand new it’s because they normally feel like it is refurbished but they just got it from the store or maybe they refurbished it and then decided let’s put a new and used. I really don’t know.

they actualy dont have carbon switches they have metal traces and thin metal domes that are depressed to activate the switch i actualy fix one with the same problem that i had the integrity of the dome just gives out and cant return to the original position and no longer clicks
i’ve found way more often that issues with switches on controllers are usually from someone spilling soda or something sugary on them

Also, I'm confused as to why you were surprised to find the halo infinite code redeemable. I believe that code is attached to the console so it wouldn't matter how many times you redeem it. It will continue to work even if the console was sold 5 times over...overall I'm not too impressed with that limited series x when they sell better looking skins for about 10 bucks these days.😜
