I may have told you before but I just want to comment on how wonderful your channel is and how life changing it has been for me.
I still dont remember how I stumbled upon your channel but it was over three years ago.
At that time my wife was in the hospital with covid. Ironically, my sister also contracted covid at the same time and passed away. Her and my wife were put on a ventilator the same day but in different states. My sister only lasted 5 days. It was so stressful and painful going to the hospital everyday. She was there for 6 months. I needed an outlet and bought a cheap keyboard and started watching your tutorials. It helped me relax and not think of everything going on at the time.
Unfortunately, my wife passed away at home a few months after being released from the hospital. I believe that music was the only thing that got me through the whole ordeal.
I requested "Woman" by John Lennon and you made a tutorial of it. I was so happy about it. Its a great song about women in general.
I now am seeing another woman at the moment. She is actually a widow. Her husband died the same time as my wife. So having that in common brought us together. She supports my hobby in learning the piano. Hopefully, I can show her what I have learned.
Anyhow, you have been wonderful the past three years that I have been watching your channel. You have put our so many great tutorials. I believe that your channel not only sparked my desire to continue my piano journey but also gave me an outlet for healing. Music really does soothe the soul. Thanks. Btw. I was so inspired by what ive learned so far that I have upgraded to a better keyboard and gave my old one to the grandkids and hope they can learn to play

John, thank you for sharing all of this. It's honestly meant a lot to me to witness your journey from afar. I'm sorry for all you went through a few years ago. I'm deeply honored to have inadvertently help support you through that. I'm so happy to hear about the new woman in your life. Life is long and strange! 💜💜💜

As someone who has had more yesterdays than I will have tomorrows glad to have recently found your channel.
I inherited a piano from my late parents many years ago & always "promised myself" I'd learn . That moment is now.
Ive stared with "Wish you were here"...then will be "Wild Horses"...& my request is for either/both ""Candle in wind or Yellow Brick Road" or "Run by Snow Patrol".
    Thanks for providing the inspiration.

I use "Alicia's Keys" it's a virtual instrument that I use with my recording software. So I am triggering it with MIDI, it is not coming from my keyboard itself.

    Why Ab instead of A?

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  2 месяца назад

This was a tough call and perhaps I should have done A to keep it a bit easier...I did Ab because it most closely matches the studio recording and many people like to play along. But I know they play it live in A, so they either tuned their guitars down for the studio version or (more likely) the final product ended up a bit pitched down because of tape speed.

Hi Nate, loving the channel. A small suggestion if I may that would help me. Would you be able to produce a simple list of all the chords throughout the song. Going straight to the chord and lyric chart is a bit of a stretch for me. I of course create my own, but others may find it useful.
So, for this song it would be:
    Intro
Ab Ab Fm Fm Db Eb Ab Ab
    Verse 1
Ab Ab Fm Fm Db Eb Fm Fm
Ab Ab Fm Fm Db Eb Ab Ab
    Chorus
Db Db (b) Ab Ab Bb Bb Eb Eb
    Verse 2
Ab Ab Fm Fm Db Eb Fm Fm
    Bridge
    E E F# F# E E F# F#
    E E
    Instrumental
Ab Ab Fm Fm Db Eb Fm Fm
Ab Ab Fm Fm Db Eb Ab Ab
    Chorus
Db Db (b) Ab Ab Bb Bb Eb Eb
    Verse 3
Ab Ab Fm Fm Db Eb Fm Fm
Db Eb Fm Fm Fm Fm
    Outro
Ab Ab Fm Db Repeat as you feel
    End
    Ab
