@@hoangquang4414 It... was a bit more complicated than simply saying Ragnar didn't love Ivar. Ragnar has been raised in a culture where babies with such a heavy disability are left to die in the forest. It was usually seen as a mercy, considering the Viking culture is heavily dependent on physical strength and prowess. Even Ivar laments living the way he was, and knew his own son would suffer a similar fate and unfortunately made the same choice as his father did, but followed through with it.
It took Hvitserk a while, but he somewhat got there in the end, even if he took the name Athelstan. Sigard unfortunately never got that chance, considering they just chose to kill him off in such a stupid way..
You could say that. When bjørn agrees with ivar, he knew Ivar was talking sense and was perhaps closer to the truth than other brothers (except bjørn himself ofc). The way ivar is sort of triggered , taking it personally shows his character and what he's been through mentally compared to his brothers. But it's such a nice subtle detail.
Ivar was the only person there with a reason to hate his father, hes the only one there who was disregarded by his father his whole life. Yet hes the only one here who openly respects his father for the man he was not the father they wanted
Having completed the series some of his sons are very much analogs for Ragnar. Bjorn is Ragnar as a leader and a warrior, Ivar is his intellect and Ubbe is him as a dreamer. Bjorn is awesome, but at the end Ubbe was the version i liked. At the beginning ragnar wanted to go west so they could stop living hard lives and fighting amongst each other. Remember he was a farmer so that settlement and a peaceful thriving farming community are what he really wanted. Ubbe found peace for his companions and family in a new world
They all ragnar and bjorn is the warrior within, ivar was the cunning ness, ubba is the adventurer, hvitserk is the tortured soul in ragnar and sigurd is the weakness and lust and hastiness
God I love the quiet, collected side of Bjorn like we see here. I almost always found that less was much more when it came to his character. He conveys such control and authority compared to post Season 5 where he's always yelling, foaming at the mouth or striking anyone and everyone off as 'not fit to be a son of Ragnar'. Like when he stops Ubbe and Ivar killing Lagertha, does he need to scream and pout 'Are we afraid to die?! Not me!!' or 'YOU ARE NOT FIT TO BE CALLED A SON OF RAGNAR' and the usual that Season 5 Bjorn and onwards always has at the ready to roar at someone, relevant or not? Not at all. Just stands tall, places a few firm looks and speaks truth and that's enough. He gives that same energy here. While that makes more sense here given the brothers are yet to come into their own and are discussing something they're clueless about compared to Bjorn, it's still a striking improvement in Bjorn's presence in the show as a whole compared to what began to come after this season where he's always five seconds away from gnashing his teeth and brooding uncomfortably despite apparently still being the Bjorn Ironside we know and love and supposedly carrying forth his legacy both in the show and with the fans watching. And again, while there's a time and a place for deconstruction, e.g. I fully understand why he acts like that in Season 6b when his rule goes all but entirely south, from losing out as King of Norway to losing Lagertha and facing the oncoming Rus, the entirety of Season 5 he's just a moronic tit who never gives off that air of composure and capability than an un-killable hero of his calibre should (and does pre Season 5). And that's not forgetting when even in Season 4 he suddenly goes on a never-ending quest to sleep with every female character that has or will be introduced despite despising his father for doing that to his mother when he was a child.
Britney Chase in many ways, yes, Ubbe does resemble Ragnar, too bad that he forgot what happened to her mother and joined lagertha camp. That is where he is different from Ivar and Ragnar
@@shohruhjurakulov1079 Except Ragnar would never kill Lagertha and would have tried to make them realize that they are brothers. @@sahirdamani1264 i think it'd be closely matched in that scenario. Though I think Ragnar would have the edge considering he's easily more cunning not only as a warrior but also a strategist. Hvitserk has been shown to be a berserker type of fighter, while they can be tough warriors themselves Bjorns fight with a berserker proved that if you keep your cool it's that much easier to win one on one, and if I remember correctly that berserker Bjorn fought was much bigger than he himself was. That being said even though Hvitserk is a berserker he and ragnar had a more similar build so it's probably safe to say their strength is comparable so at this point the Victor would be who's able to outsmart their opponent which Ragnar has in spades compared to his son
This scene and the one where they discuss the fate of Ecbert comprehensively portray the differing personalities of the brothers. Björn values Ragnar’s strength and adventurousness, Ubba’s interested in his wisdom, Hvitserk showcases his anxiousness & need for authority in his criticism of Ragnar’s abandonment, Sigurd portrays himself as universally caring by representing the opinions of the wide (normal) population, and Ivar idolises his father for his legendary reputation and warmongering.

It was usually seen as a mercy, considering the Viking culture is heavily dependent on physical strength and prowess. Even Ivar laments living the way he was, and knew his own son would suffer a similar fate and unfortunately made the same choice as his father did, but followed through with it.
I like Ivar . Ivar is a legend. My love😍
What about now ???
same...But I hated that cripple bastard after ragnar died and he grew hungry for power
Björn and Ubbe was always the most loyal of them.
bjorn is strong like ragnar
ivar is smart like ragnar
ubbe has love like ragnar
the other two are just lucky to be sons of ragnar
100%
It took Hvitserk a while, but he somewhat got there in the end, even if he took the name Athelstan. Sigard unfortunately never got that chance, considering they just chose to kill him off in such a stupid way..
People says after ragnar the series died but ivar was on another level and he took it forword like a badass😎
In the last seasons all sons stepped up.
@M Billa he dies so early I forgot he existed by the time of the comment.😂
Meh.
@@pbluma agreed. Meh at best
So a father abandoning his children when they were young is not reason enought to hate him?
@@marcocardia3960isnt that makes it double the reason Ivar wants to kill Ragnar
Bjorn the cool brother.
Ubbe the kind brother.
Hvitserk the indecisive brother.
Sigurd...who?
Ivar the smart brother.
I have a little feeling that you don't like Sigurd 😆
Sigurd is the poetic heart
Apart from Bjorn, Ivar had much respect for his father despite being neglected by him as a child. Im glad Ivar checked them.
All have a part of Ragnar in them. Ivar especially. But Bjorn tho is never one to be underestimated. That is why Ivar is dangerous.
You can tell Bjorn is the oldest and most experienced and established and hes the only one not afraid to not act all tough
Sad to see them all turn on themselves they would've been unstoppable
ivar always had massive respect for his mother and father
"he betrayed our name", hvistverk, he made the name. You are the one who carry it.
Quite often the youngest child resembles their father the most
Except for Ubbe. He's the one who resembles him physically
Unlike Ragnar and the rest of his sons Ivar preferred revenge because he was too selfish too see anything else.
Ragnar loved his sons as can be seen in all of the seasons as such.
He also always loved Lagertha and would never have let Ivar to kill her.
He was just exploiting Aslög so he could have more children.
@@gustaf3811 also there was no reason for lagertha to be stupid and kill aslaug and result in war between ragnar’s sons
@@gustaf3811 Except lagertha didn't had any claim to kattegat, she lost the claim the minute she leaved Ragnar (I don't blame her for that, she was a good and loving queen, wife and mother. Aslaug taking her place hurt her a lot, I get it) but it's all on the past, she was in a great position than that. she took kattegat by force and unnecessarily murdered aslaug (I don't like that woman either, but she's the rightful queen of kattegat) and this it contributed to the Civil War..

lol me too.

1:09. HELLO CAMERA
Hello Forth wall 😅
@Ak 26 he looks straight into the camera, thus breaking the forth wall. I didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me 😊
Damn it 😂
Ubbe was the wisest
i love the 5 brothers cuz theyre amazing :)
“You all sound like a bunch of Christians” GET REKT
*Ragnar chilling behind the house keeping his eye on his children*
"Its showtime!"
1:45 bjorn I like him
Was it just me who thought Sigurd looked like Aslaug and Erlendur’s secret love child?
Hvitserk: if he ever comes back I would kill him
Bjorn: you're not that guy bro
🤣
Who would win tho Ragnar vs Hvitserk
@@sahirdamani1264 at this point of time easily ragnar despite his age. Hvitserk talked a big game but when ragnar stepped up to him he didn't even attempt to answer his father's challenge.
@@Jamarcus_Joestar what if they were both in their prime like season 6 Hvitserk vs season 3 Ragnar
To be honest I like ubbe and bjorn the most
Loved Björn's words
Me too
Hvitserk and sigurd were really quiet when ragnar came back tho💀
This is a pretty touching moment raganar's sons talking about him and calling him their father.
Ivar the Boneless teaching his siblings the virtues of loving your parents... before lodging an axe in Sigurd's chest.
“NONE OF US ARE SOFT!”
(Sigurd looks away)
This is a great scene
Look how Ivar defend his father 😊🤗
There will never be another Ivar the boneless!
"He is our father and that is the end of it"
This scene and the one where they discuss the fate of Ecbert comprehensively portray the differing personalities of the brothers.
I love how all the sons besides Bjorn were all so tough saying, I'll kill him if I see him then when he appears they all buckle but Bjorn lol.
Not ivar tho
Ivar also defended him
The dialogue in this show really was shown up without Ragnar delivering the lines
From this scene u can tell that Ivar and Bjorn are 👌
They all have grown up sine they first appeared.
Ivar is my favorite
Ivar it's the best 😍😍😍😍
loved Ivar up until the point where he started think that he is a god
A lot of good scenes but I really like this scene by alot
Everyones a gangster in till a real gangster shows up it was all crickets when he came back
Ivar the brains
Bjorn the muscle
Ubbe the looks
Hvitserk the wildcard
Sigurd the useless chick
Bjorn was the wisest and strongest; Ivar was the cleverest and most ruthless; Ubbe was the most contemplative and farsighted; Hvitserk was the most aggressive and talented at fighting; and Sigurd was the most sensitive and soulful.
I think this is one of the very first scenes we see Ragnar and Aslaug’s sons grown up…
Ivar its so handsome 😍😍😍
#TeamIvar
When hvitserk said he'd kill him bjorn rubbed his head like u really don't know ragnar lothbrok
Its funny how bjorn always looks at his brothers like young fools he has no time for
iron ironside and iva are the only kids understood ranger !
Who said I loved him ubbe I said I admire him like Viking
I followed my parents to once
Hvitserk and Sigurd hates Ragnar, Bjorn and Ivar respects and admires Ragnar, only Ubbe still loves his father 💔
Ivar to their brothers: "They are dead, fuck that shit and carry on"
Also Ivar to their brothers: "!!!HOW COULD YOU BE WITH LARGUETA SHE KILLED OUR MOTHER!!!"
I can smell the hypocrisy 😂😆
A bunch of random folk < your mother
Does anyone know what's the music playing at the exact point before Bjorn arrives at his brothers ??
Hvitserk and Sigurd talks about wanting to kill Ragnar while Bjorn and Ivar knew too damn well that ain't gonna happen
“We are all sons of Ragnar “
At this point and time in the story only Bjorn had fought, shed blood and seen his fathers Demons while the others inly heard stories.
out of the brothers.
Bjorn had the best overall skill in combat.
but Ivar for sure had the best brain
Ivar is the example that being clever don´t mean being kind and morally good
I like the accent.
My pretty, deadly birds.....
you all sound like a bunch of Christian’s 😂 I luv Ivar
