Thanks for posting this! The whole band sounds and feels so warm and tight here. Cass in my mind is some kindred spirit of Elliott Smith. Insightful and courageous with his words yet soft and breathless, in suspense always. So glad that he keeps doing his thing and carrying the torch of a sincere songwriter.
Big Wheel kicks you right in the chest, I bet it was even heavier live. Cass and company here are all time. So cool to see how much he’s grown as a musician and songwriter in 15 years. Thanks for uploading this show.
Thank you so much for posting this. I loved It. It IS funny how Dan Horne and Cass McCombs are so complentary, but so different at the same time. Here you can see how Dan is on fire from second one, and gets more and more quite as the show goes on. Cass is the opposite instead, he goes from less to more, till he totally owns It all. I love too how the band members always look at Cass, like, so appreciative; I have noted this in many videos. I guess he is a very charismatic guy. One thing it's sure, he has some gentleman-ish vibe pouring down of him, and It is a treat when he gets a bit naughty. I wish they would make a different rendition of Rancid Girl, I always envision tha song as somenting heavier, dirtier, with some stacatto and a contra tempo drums, more distorsión, louder, the sax fucking raw, like some song The Stooges could have played. Well long comment I know, but I tend to get enthusiastic about music in general and Cass in particular. i could go on an on...😅 Just one more: bubbles...lovely really but man, all that moist falling on the instruments and electric devices everywhere...ouch
