  • This is an 08 Honda Pilot with intermittent brake noise. It happens mostly when turning. This car was parked outside it's entire life. Failed caliper?

Finally a video that doesn’t immediately jump to “it’s the pads”
I recently changed the lower control arm seeing that the rubber was completely missing. The problem seemed worse after that. I have great brakes on there as well that are probably 4,000 miles in tops. Next step is to remove the dust protector on maybe both sides then check the caliper bolts and then go on from there.
This video was very helpful though.

Can you post a video of installing a new dust shield?

I did not re-install a new dust shield. You really don't need them.

Why even take off the caliper you can clearly see the plate touching the rotors

is it ok to drive without the dust shield?

It is fine to drive without it. The dust sheild protects you only from dust. Dust don't hurt.

If the brake pads DON'T move EASILY...DESCALE the caliper bracket! (NOT the caliper)
